Stayed here on a 4 day 3 night trip to Sydney and loved it. The location was amazing, close to Westfield, close to restaurants, however, was a 20 minute walk from the harbour. The price was reasonable for a 3.8 star hotel in the middle of Sydney and it came with room service. The downsides to the hotel room we stayed in were that there was no microwave or toaster, so most meals had to be eaten out, that it was very small and only suited 2 people max, the windows were only single paned which allowed the cool air in and the traffic noise in at night. As we only stayed 3 nights and were barely in the room during the day it suited us well, however, if planning to stay longer I would recommend getting a room with a microwave and a little more square footage.
We recently stayed here for one night on our way to America. The hotel is very nice and is in a great location right near Hyde park and is a quick walk to many sites and restaurants. The night was great and I was quite pleased with our experience. The downside came in the form of a $200 security deposit, now I have no problem paying a deposit on a hotel room, the problem is that we are now over three weeks later and coming home from America and we have yet to receive our deposit back. That's $200 we are without for our entire vacation because they cannot process our refund in a timely manner. This is totally unacceptable and turned a 4 star rating for me into a 2 simply because they cannot process this simple transaction in a timely manner. We are frequently in Sydney and I will make it a point to never stay here again based on this one experience. A shame to because it is a nice place.
Always wanted to stay there as it's always expensive, but I got a deal as I believe the staff said they will close in a few months due to construct in the city, reception was great, worked well for our one night stay, close to everything, malls, trains, bus, park.
I found the Park8 Hotel easy to get to as it's close to Town Hall station. Staff were very friendly when I checked in and the room was a great size. Maybe it's the price of being in the centre of town, but roadworks noise early in the morning was the only downside from my stay.
The room was excellent, clean and very comfy. The checkin and checkout process was easy. Loved the whole atmosphere of the boutique hotel in the middle of the city and will be definitely be staying there again.
The one-bedroom loft is perfect for small families. It has a well-equipped kitchenette. The bathroom is sufficient but needs to be updated. Housekeeping needs improvement but alright. Great location since it's between Museum and Townhall stations. Darling harbour and Hyde park are near and within walking distance. There are lots of restaurants in the area. Two things that really irked me 1) during our 3 night stay, my husband and I weren't able to connect our iphones to the hotel's wifi service and 2) the hotel charged me $20 when I BORROWED an adapter. I should have just bought one for $10 at Woolsworth.
This hotel is small but very convenient to get to and sits in the middle of all the Sydney CBD attractions. The staff there are really friendly and the room was very clean. 2 downsides - lack of views, all the windows in our room were frosted and the TV was mounted in the top corner making watching TV slightly uncomfortable for the neck. I would recommend this hotel for people staying in Sydney CBD and would like to get around to places easily.
Hotel just around the corner from an event I was attending, great location, very reasonable pricing for Sydney. Despite building works going on in the vicinity we didn't hear a thing, very quiet and lovely room.
I've been coming here on and off for many years with mixed results but at the moment the results are largely negative. Yes the location is excellent for the city but if you're here on business and rely on the internet avoid at all costs. Every other day the wifi just disappears and you have to ask one of the very unfriendly and arrogant staff members as I did today to have the modem reset. It leaves one with a perpetual sour taste. The staff which is young and generally unhelpful need to be trained properly in dealing with guests. Sydney is a major tourist city and this boutique hotel is not easy to come by as it competes with bigger brand names. On the plus side you can't beat the location but some of the staff really should be trained in hotel etiquette because the male staff members on duty during weekday mornings are beyond rude and treat you like idiots not guests. In addition my room this time was dark and dour. When you stay for almost 2 weeks you expect better. Grade D.
Value for money, perfect for a family visit to Vivid. Easy to get to from public transport. Room was clean, tidy and comfortable. Service from check-in staff was friendly and polite. Lovely little boutique hotel.
