We really enjoyed this hotel and location. Staff were extremely helpful, and patient, answering questions we had about sightseeing and restaurants, and assisted in reserving transport to the airport. It is located in the Business district, with a 15 minute walk to the Rocks, Circular Quay, Opera House and ferries. It is about 30 minute walk to Darling Harbour. We could not have asked for a better location and avoided cabs the entire trip. Our room was on the 14th floor, a refurbished Executive Studio. It worked well for the two of us. We enjoyed having a simple kitchen, living and bedroom space, plus a washer and dryer in the bathroom area. It was quiet, secure, and comfortable.

The hotel is in a great location near the Harbor and Ferries. We walked easily from the train platform to the hotel and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They stored our luggage because we were in early and gave us plenty of information to help us get around. Vanessa is one of the managers and seems to always be there if you have questions and the rest of the staff was just as friendly. It was indicated the hotel is due for a face lift but still very acceptable There is construction going on for underground rail but still a great area. The breakfast was delicious and worth it as it gives a nice calm start to your day. We stayed a second time on our way back through Sydney to go home and the staff was just as helpful. Sydney is a fun city and we hope to be back. We will definitely utilize this hotel again!

Nice room, lovely kitchenette & lounge area. This is a nice hotel in a good location. Circular Quay and the Rocks are easy walking distance, main shopping precinct is also close by.

The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. They held our luggage and got us a room early - only waited 45 minutes at 10:30 am. Staff help with Internet connection couldn't have been greater, even gave me a complimentary all-day access in addition to the few 30-minute accesses. Room was 4 - 5 star.

Nice room facility, good location, top grade service, I enjoyed the stay in this hotel, 10 mins walk to the center of they city, lots of viewing spots. Bars and pubs are located along the street.

The hotel is perfectly located in CBD, I could walk to most places I wanted to visit. The studio was spacious and clean. WiFi was expensive though and didn't really find a concierge service

Stayed at this hotel with my mother and daughter while visiting my son who is studying in Australia for his Junior year abroad. I booked a one bedroom apartment. It included a queen bed and pul out couch in the living room. The kitchen was well equipped and I discovered it did not have a can opener. I called the front desk and a replacement was sent to the room immediately. I wanted a room with a kitchen because God is very expensive and I wanted the ability to have breakfast in the room. I looked for a hotel close to the Quay, Opera House and the Rocks. This location was a very short walk away from all in addition to the Wyanard train station and excellent shopping at the Pitt Street Mall. You will not be disappointed with this hotel's location. A few things to be made aware of: $60.00 a day for parking in their underground garage, expensive internet if you want to use it in your room. It only covers two devices and smart phones are included. I spent over $200 on internet alone between phones and computers. I was first shown a room on the 2nd floor with a view of a brick wall. Make sure to ask for a street view. Do not expect your room to be cleaned daily. They will make the bed and provide towels daily, but do not expect the kitchen to be cleaned or your room vacuumed daily. I had to ask for the room to be vacuumed after being away for almost 3 days visiting another city. It would have been a perfect opportunity for the room to have been thoroughly cleaned during our absence. It was vacuumed while we were out during the afternoon, but that was the only thing done. You appear to be on your own as for as housekeeping is concerned. In spite of these things, I would recommend staying here.

We got a very good rate at this hotel in off season, in a room labeled "executive studio". It was an excellent room, with the only drawback being a view of a brick wall. Very comfortable, full kitchen, spacious. The location is great, convenient to the Circular Quay, the Rocks, downtown shopping, parks, etc. The only drawback is Sydney parking rates, which are stratospheric. Paid half as much for parking as we did for the hotel room! Not an issue of course if you don't have a car.

No doubt , Mantra 2 is a perfect choice to the location of famous Geoge St and Datling Harbour!

This is a great place to stay in the middle of the City. It's with in walking distance to the train station and ferries which made it very easy to get around and finding places to eat. The kitchen and laundry in the room was a big plus!

The apartment like accommodations are great. The location in the downtown area was perfect for us. The staff was helpful but didn't go out of their way to provide assistance. The roof pool is looking a bit tired but still worth a short visit even if only for the view. We booked in conjunction with our flight so the cost was quite reasonable.

It's the first hotel we stayed in Australia, and it's the best so far. The location is great, right in the middle of the attraction, within 15 minutes to Sydney Harbor (Opera House) and Darling Harbor. Buses are running right in front of the hotel on George street. Room is clean with everything you needed, stoves, microwave, washer/dryer, dinning area. Staffs were really helpful with giving directions and some other personal requests that was not required by the hotel. The few minor things are the small bathroom and the in-room internet service that costs A$25/day (but we later found out this is common practice in Australia to charge internet). Hotel did provide free wi-fi in the lobby, which was good enough for us. Overall we give it 5 star for the great value.

The hotel is in a good location. I liked the fact that it had a washer & dryer in the room & a small kitchen area.

I hesitatedly booked an Executive Studio apartment here for the 3 nights we were in Sydney. I say hesitatedly because I didn't really want to spend the money they required and I couldn't really tell from the google map if my choice of location was a hit or a miss. Well, as soon as we drove down the street and arrived at our destination, I KNEW I made an excellent choice and would not regret the rate (I'm an average working class American who doesn't like to waste money on frivolous ammenities). George street is THE main street in the Rocks/Sydney area and NOTHING was more than a very few minutes' walk from Mantra (The Rocks, Darling Harbour, Circular Quay, Opera House). We needed no public transportation to explore - we discovered this after we booked a 48hr hop on hop off city tour bus - I recommend that as well - for a great overview tour of the city and Bondi Beach, but it certainly wasn't necessary staying at the Mantra. The staff was very helpful and friendly - provided all sorts of information and recommendations. The room - oh my, I cannot say enough. They thought of every need possible - 3 of us stayed in the room - spacious; the double bed was comfortable; the rollaway great; awesome bathroom with washing machine and dryer (and detergent); GREAT kitchen - granite counters, maple cabinets, full fridge/freezer, microwave, pots, pans, panini maker, hot pot, wine glasses, bottle opener, forks, knives, dishes, etc, water pitcher. Wow. AND the room service menu was not expensive - especially compared to the States. I just cannot say enough. Thank you very much for the awesome stay - I look forward to finding your brand elsewhere! We stayed in room 1311 - wow - you have to see it.
