The pool was painfully cold. There isn’t enough pool chairs. People were reserving chairs at 4am. When we finally got up to reserve a chair, our belongings were removed. We had planned to return for spring break, but since the pool wasn’t enjoyable- we won’t.

Nestled in the jungle with a path to the sunrise safe and beautiful ocean beach-front property. Outstanding staff from the moment you arrive at the front desk, through to the check out levels. Our rooms were cleaned up with love, restaurant and bar staff outstanding with tasty meals, lots of variety and many restaurants. Beach and poolside so many people there to serve and keep things neat and full of life. Joy & Wellness staff brought the energy to the resort with every activity and evening party and New Year’s Eve was a party to remember. Highly recommend for adults and children of all ages. Lifeguard and security on the beach to keep an eye out but felt extremely safe and ability to walk up and down the beach safely in all directions. Ocean out front refreshing to swim in with a sandy bottom and lots of pools to cool off throughout the resort. A collaborative Facebook group of helpful past and existing guests asking and answering questions created a supportive community too. Looking forward to returning again soon!!!

The first thing that I would say is that this is absolutely not an all inclusive. Most things around the resort had some things that were included and other things that were not. Room service as in the food itself was included, but you had to pay for it to be delivered. They would deliver wine in a glass, but no cocktails.. The quality of the rooms and the cleaning, depending upon the building that you were in. We had an issue with one of the electronic wristbands, if you totally lost it, it would cost US$125 to replace but they never told you that upfront. By and large the food in the restaurants was quite good as was a service. Unfortunately, no one with a regular reservation at the resort could make a reservation at the restaurants. It was all first come first serve which one you were travelling with a large group of people doesn’t really work the hostessing staff at the French restaurant was particularly awful just as an FYI. All of the bartenders were fantastic. The spa services were also wonderful, except for the fact that they were exorbitantly priced. For frame of reference an 80 minute massage was $300. The beach sand was phenomenal, but unfortunately, it did not get raked every day. The other issue was that in order to have an ocean view while you were sitting on the beach, you would’ve had to purchase a cabana for an additional fee. My overall experience was OK. They should not mark themselves as all inclusive!

The fives hotel and beachfront has one of the most friendliest staff. They always great you when they pass by you and make you feel like family. Their ambassador take the time to make sure that your needs are met. We also did the spa experience which was 50 min hydro therapy and 50 minute massage and left like new. Overall it was a good experience.

The reason I am so upset is because the staff would each tell us different things contradicting each other. I asked about my benefits and the lady said that wasn’t something they offered I showed her my booking confirmation and what it said she said she they didn’t do that. I expressed at the hotel how unhappy we were and there was minimal to no effort to make it better. I was also so disappointed that there wasn’t more authentic food I couldn’t even find TAKIS which are literally Mexican chips what they did have were Lays and Doritos. The food did not taste good at all. I think the best restaurant that they had was the sushi one. Luckily, I have an aunt that lives in Mexico and she dropped off some actual Mexican food for us and that was the best meal we had. I don’t know. I just think it’s funny how you’re in Mexico and the food is all American nice like I did not feel like I was in a Mexican resort. I felt like I was at a fancy hotel in America so that was kind of sad because I felt like it robbed me from my Mexican experience.
