I’m truly disappointed with my recent stay at The Reef 28. What was advertised as an adults-only, all-inclusive experience turned out to be frustrating and misleading. There were children on the property, despite it being promoted as adults-only. We also paid for an all-inclusive package, yet we had to jump through too many hoops just to get what we already paid for. The staff constantly pushed for upgrades and tips, which felt aggressive and uncomfortable. One of the worst parts was being lied to about an excursion—we were given false information by a staff member, which caused us to waste an entire day. That was time we couldn’t get back. To make things worse, rain and a power outage left us with no backup options or accommodations, and the staff offered little to no support during that time. All around, this was not the relaxing, luxury experience we were promised. I would not recommend this resort unless they make serious changes in honesty, service, and overall guest care

This resort is comviniently located 1 block from 5th avenue and 1 block from the beach. It has the option of being fully all inclusive which was great for the foodies who enjoy eating off resort. We opted for the breakfast to be all inclusive and enjoyed the many restaurant in the area. Quick note the restaurant on callee 38 is where it is at just a quick walk over .

We had a pleasant stay overall, but we encountered several issues with the staff that significantly impacted our experience. There were instances where the information provided was misleading; for example, we were initially told that we could bring food from the dining area to our room. However, when we attempted to do so, we were informed it was against the rules. When we confronted the staff member who had given us that information, she claimed she didn’t understand or speak English, which felt like an evasion of responsibility. Additionally, the food choices were quite limited, and by the third day, we were already growing tired of the options available. To make matters worse, excessive noise outside at night disrupted our ability to relax. Overall, these factors detracted from what could have been a much more enjoyable experience.

We recently stayed at Reef 28, an all-inclusive resort that offers a great location and the intimacy of a smaller resort. It's close to the town, beach, and offers access to sister hotels. The highlight was the food, especially for a vegan like me. Brenda, the guest service manager, and the chefs were very accommodating, offering delicious vegan options at every meal. While communication with Brenda before our stay was challenging, once we connected, I was impressed with the service and variety of vegan dishes. However, the rooftop pool area had loud DJ music, making it impossible to relax. The volume was unbearably high, and despite several requests to the staff and manager to lower it, nothing changed. The DJ even responded dismissively, saying, "If they're not happy, they can go somewhere else." While we liked the music itself, it was far too loud for a relaxing environment. We ultimately wore earplugs to tolerate the noise. In conclusion, the resort’s location, food, and service were great, but the loud music and uncooperative DJ impacted our overall experience. If you're seeking a quiet, relaxing stay, this may not be the right choice.

I cant say enough positive things about this hotel. It was clean, quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was AMAZING! Always go out of their way to be pleasant and make sure you have everything you need.... and more I am not usually one to write a review but i think people should know about this place. I was worried when my husband suggested we stay at a location " not on the beach". I am a person that gets bored easily and he was worried being stuck in a location that was difficult to get out of to enjoy the surroundings, would get boring. This hotel has an all inclusive option available. Definitely get it! The food and dining atmosphere is amazing!! We could walk around safely in this area, enjoy the beach just a block and a half away or rent a scooter and go to the ruins or cenotes.

The Reef 28 is close to 5th Ave and makes it very walkable to all the shops and dining options. The roof top pool is amazing with incredible views and DJ Juan is great!

Awesome place 3rd time that we go there. Had an issue with noisy neighbours and brenda fixed our problem in seconds. Food and drinks top notch. Just one point we don't have access to the coco beach anymore. We need to pay extra :(. But it’s not an opinion changer. The public beach 5 minutes away is very nice as well. Will go back again

A couple things…just get the breakfast package, there are far too many amazing places to eat on 5th street to eat the food at the hotel. Secondly if you want to be able to go to bed early also not an ideal place to stay, there are a couple bars surrounding the hotel and they are really loud usually until 1-2am. Other than that, amazing place, very clean rooms and the rooftop bar and pool is awesome!
