Place was beautiful and convenient to beach and shopping. Staff was great. The only thing I didn’t like was that they offered late checkout via an email they sent me and when I went to the desk they said it was not available, they got my hopes up on a late checkout but not delivering.

DJ way too loud on the rooftop. It's the only place you can lay out to get sun... the music is at Dance Club volume for most of the day-with no one dancing. There is nowhere to get away from the loud music...not relaxing for an adults only Hotel. Great chef for the Italian and Asian offerings-good service! The Mexican restaurant items were good however the service was not. Rooms smelled very musty and it was a hassle to get the hotel staff to lower the air conditioning temp to a comfortable level.

Pros: Check out was quick and easy. Needed to change rooms due to so loud and was able to immediately. They did so without extra charge. Shuttle to sister hotels. The vibe of area is nice. Cons: Very loud motel. You hear bars across street and the dining areas. You hear music and banging all night long and roof top bar. Can hear everything in rooms all around you. They push timeshare for first 2 days. Had to be rude so they would stop asking. Check in took a long time due to this. Did all inclusive. Food was not worth it. Cold, limited choices. Ate out half of the time. They want you signing check so they can get tips, but they didn’t do anything extra. Rooftop bar/pool not impressed. Not enough chairs and never was waited on for drinks. Food was limited. Shuttle to sister hotel for $15pp is good, but same issue; no lounge chairs and not a beach. Spa prices not really worth it. Tour guy didn’t communicate everything, so had to pay extra at tour. Shouldn’t had too. Maid service did make bed and give clean towels, but room was not “cleaned”. Won’t go back.

It wasn’t right on the beach how I would’ve liked, but, everything else made up for it. The room, service, location and food were all great. The area is safe and very walkable to the beach, bars and shopping! I’d refer friends and hope to go back.

Great place to relax for a conference

I attended a conference at The Reef 28 and was very pleased with the hotel as a vegetarian. The rooms were huge, and the water filling areas were close. The breakfast was huge, with so many options and someone who could make specialty egg products. I appreciated that the items were labeled, though in a few causes, I wish it was a little cleared as to what was vegetarian. I'm glad they rotated menus daily on the main restaurant. I also appreciated that on the Mexican restaurant, they rotated the vegetables each day that I ordered tacos. The rooftop bar was also quite scenic, and I appreciate the energy one day when they brought in dancers. Overall, I liked this place for a conference, and look forward to attending next year.

Was advertised as an all inclusive resort, this was not was given to me at check in. I was told I had not paid for all inclusive and they wanted to charge me an additional $800 for the all inclusive. I believe that they use a bait and switch, the room was extremely clean but the noise was constant,no way to sleep at this place. As for the rooftop completely disappointed the pool was tiny and the place was overcrowded. Everyone kept trying to sell you a deink or have you take a 90 min presentation for timeshare. All I can say was what a disappointment overall…

I would definitely be staying here again when in Playa. Everyone was so hospitable. It rained most of my trip but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. Thank you Eli for scheduling out massages in the spa, Jacqueline was great. Ivan in the Cachito was so amazing we literally ate here everyday and everyone at the front desk was lovely. Martin was our driver for the airport transportation and he was super friendly.

The Reef 28 was a perfect stay. In the middle of loads of shops and restaurants and very close to the beach. This hotel has a roof top bar/pool etc with great views. For a fee you can spend the day or days at the sister hotels which are lovely and attached to their own beach areas and have their own swimming pools. We have a couple issues with our room but the staff were very quick in rectifying the issues and even moving us to a same room first thing the very next morning. Staff are lovely and polite at all times. lovely location, hotel and great place. Would definately revisit and recommend 10/10

I contacted the hotel prior to booking as I was worried about how loud the pool area would be from other complaints. I was told they lowered it. They did NOT. It was LOUD, LOUD, LOUD, couldn't even talk and for a hotel with 100 plus rooms they only have about 15 loungers. So even if we wanted to sit on the rooftop deck, we couldn't. Then their was the room. Again I asked when I booked to not be on the bar side due to noise. I have to work sometimes on holidays. We get there and are right above the bar that plays more loud music all night long. Then when I did have to work their WIFI doesn't work, they did accomodate me by allowing me to work in a restaurant area they don't use. It did have good wifi but no AC so I sweated while working We hated this hotel so much that after 3 days of our 2 weeks we moved elsewhere. Also the restaurant is decieving. They say they have more than they do. They have ONE restaurant and the their other location is the morning buffet and then turns into italian and asian, there is literally no atmosphere so we mostly ate at the other one. The only pros were the great staff.
