Nice place overall but seemed to be understaffed.
The hotel was excellent. Orbitz ride to hotel was The WORST!! We keep getting told our ride was more$$ even those we booked ahead!! Hotel took care of our ride while we had to fight on the booking we purshased with them "Orbitz." Also Orbitz keep calling us on our vacation day after day with no result on why or how tOrbitz missed up. Like I said our hotel took care of it finally and we told Orbitz to stop bothering us!! I will never use Orbitz again and suggest everyone to go through anyone else but them.
1. Food is fantastic 2. Rooms are clean and spacious (if you're on a budget, get a basic room, you'll still have a blast) 3. There are pools for people who like to party and mingle but there are also quieter pools. 4. Room service is 24 hours and tasty! 5. Hotel is only about 25 minutes from airport 6. Beach is beautiful and water is crystal clear! They do have large sandbags out in the ocean that I assume are for erosion purposes but they aren't bad. They actually make the water much calmer so you can enjoy the ocean without getting beat up by the waves. 7. La Isla has the best food in my opinion. Cocotal has an awesome breakfast buffet if you want a buffet. Swingbar by JoJos makes the best drinks. 8. They do have free Wi-Fi across the entire complex and it is fast enough to facetime and stream netflix (even on the beach) Tips: 1. The best spot for quiet beach people is on the far side of the Presidential Villas. There is a super clean restroom nearby, a bar, and they serve a little buffet lunch as well. It is fabulous if you want to feel like you have the whole place to yourself. 2. If you like a party pool be sure to get up and have your chairs claimed by 7:30 at the very latest at the La Isla pool. 3. Buildings 41-44 are quiet and close to just about everything. 4. The fastest lunch (besides the little pop up buffets) is at La Cabana Pizzeria. Pizzas/Nachos/Hotdogs/Hamburgers/etc and it's all tasty.
We loved this place!! We went for our honeymoon and I would recommend it to anyone. The staff was amazing and very friendly the food was awesome.. We will defiantly be back soon and many more times after that.
Our third trip to this resort. Great time every time. A beautiful resort with great amenities. Only downside is the beach has too much coral.
Room was nice and clean. Staff to stock mini bar only visited twice in seven days. Food..,very good. Staff continuously saying ola made us nuts.
Although expensive, the trip was very relaxing and worth it. The staff were great and really bumped up the experience for us. The food was great, and of course the weather and location were great too.
My only advice. Do not book the Casitas unless you want to walk a long way to everything. Other than that it was great.
This is an absolutely perfect place for couples without kids or who are leaving kids at home. The food is amazing. Everything blew me away, except for the pizza place by the main pool. The grounds are beautiful, and make you feel like you are in paradise. The beach is also great, with so many covered beds, couches, and lounge chairs. I love how cocktail waitresses will ask you if you would like a drink on the beach so that you don't have to get up. Great nightly entertainment, with the nighttime bar connected next door - you'll meet lots of fun people. The beach bar is also great for meeting people. Drinks are great, with top shelf brands that don't cost anything additional to the all-inclusive. Finally all of the staff is amazing from your personal concierge to the entertainment staff to the restaurant staff to the maintenance staff. Everyone says Hola!, is friendly, and will figure out some way to entertain the guests if it's raining for a couple of hours. I'll definitely be back!
If you like to relax by the pool, it is pretty good. If you like beach volleyball and snorkeling, I'd look elsewhere. Great staff, great rooms and overall a great stay.
Great Hotel..Definitely very large resort--plus and minus: easy to get food reservations/drinks at any bar however have to take golf cart to get to certain restaurants, etc
Great place to stay for a honeymoon or anniversary. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Bartenders at the beach were awesome. (Wish I remembered their names) The food at this resort is great! We were there for 13 days and never got sick of the food. Activities staff was also great! We will be back.
Second time to El Dorado. First to the Casita section. Great rooms, great pools, great food, and great service. Will definitely be back.
I went there for my honeymoon and it was a great place to go. The one thing I did not like was the issues with the internet. I paid the $35 for 3 days and it only worked for one day but they would not refund me and when I asked for assistance nobody knew what to do. Other than that it was great, but not for someone who dislikes seafood. I pretty much stayed hungry because I only liked food from 2 of the 8 restaurants.
This was our second trip to El Dorado Royale. Our first was about 5 years ago for our honeymoon. At that time, part of the resort was closed for renovation. There were a couple of odd service issues we ran into early on, but it is still a great resort and definitely a good value!
The resort was beautiful, good food, good entertainment.
This hotel is a great place to stay, 5 Star all the way. Food was wonderful only drawback is not a great beach.
Best experience ever. Hotel was very complete and the staff was great.
Went to el Dorado as a last minute 4 day getaway. The resort is absolutely stunning, the beach was everything I expected and more with white sand and blue waters. The staff was very friendly and the room was what they had described. The food on the other hand was horrible. For an all inclusive I didn't expect much but I thought the basic resort food would be at least decent and it wasn't (burgers, club sandwich), Mexican food was hardly what you would expect. Not much choice in that department. The only good thing was the Cesar salad. I absolutely recommend the resort if you want a short and relaxing trip. I went there solo and they gave me the furthest room from the beach after I asked if they could give me a room closer to everything, although the resort was probably half it's capacity.
Beautiful resort, AMAZING food. Definitely would return.
