Beds are really hard. Staff is excellent and goood is amazing!

The beach was beautiful around the resort, the pools were amazing and the property itself was great. Overall a very nice experience.

We enjoyed a full 7 days at the RIU yucatan. The food options were good and the staff was very friendly. We met alot of great people that we enjoyed hanging out with. The beach and pool areas were great. We didn't want to leave. We will plan another trip back to this beautiful place.

Food was only average--should be better & more variety

On beach. Food is edible.not good.just sustenance. Drinks are fine. I have a feeling they water down the booze.

Great staff and property. Rooms were just ordinary, but very responsive staff and great activity schedule, more than made up for lack of a bath tub.

The good: next to the beach. The bad: small rooms, no privacy in the bathrooms, cheap decoration, you have to be careful with the food, all inclusive of low quality drinks. Way too overpriced!

My family of five adults had a very nice stay at Riu Yucatan. We were fortunate to get a room on the bottom floor (no elevators) and our room was close to the pool and lobby, not a far walk from the beach either. The room was clean, but the mattress was uncomfortable and the bathroom really needed an exhaust fan. The staff were all very impressive and they did an excellent job. The facilities were all very nice, the pool was clean and refreshing. The beach had a lot of seaweed, but they seemed to try to control it. It still smelled badly near the water, but it didn’t keep us from enjoying the beach. I’d recommend going to Riu Tequila for the entertainment, although the dance team had a few good shows. Overall, if we returned to Playacar, we would stay here again. I’d recommend USA Transfers for transportation to and from.

Hotel is close to its large beach. Plenty of chairs around the pools. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Ground are beautiful. Food is fair bit to be expected for buffets feeding a large number of people.

6 days of perfect vacation for the whole family, mayan culture, sports, rest, excursions,....

I have an excellent vacation at this place. Nice people and I enjoyed my stay.

Ulesius was a front desk rep and he was very nice and Helpful. We stayed in rooms 1605 and 1610 which was right next to the lobby. So it was quick and easy to get to breakfast and to the lobby at check out. There are no elevators only stairs and we were on the 3rd floor. We had a king sized bed as well as my sons room. The housekeeping staff always cleaned our room well and kept our refrigerator stocked. The beach had seaweed but they did a good job of removing it every morning. The beach was clean and level. Plenty of beach chairs. 3 pools 1 jacuzzi and a small child water pool area. Free non motorized water activities...snorkeling, body board, wind surfing, kayaking, catamaran. The food at the restaurants were ok (not bad but not great). When we ate at the steak restaurant we were miserable as well as other guests due to the mosquitoes that attacked us while eating. We were not able to enjoy the food. It would have been nice for the Riu to have screens over the openings in instances like that. The entertainment was pretty good. A shopping plaza was 3 hotels down across from the Riu Playacar. We visited the Riu Tequila, Playacar and Palace. The Riu Yucatan (where we stayed) had a wildlife sanctuary with howler monkeys as well as other animals. It was a unique experience. All in all it was a good hotel but next time I book I will stay at Riu Playacar it was my original choice but there were no rooms available there on our travel dates so we stayed at the Yucatan.

Stunning beach, great variety of food at the buffet. Do not waste your time going to the steakhouse or mexican. Went the week of 7/29-8/5 the only restaurant that need it reservation was the mexican. You have to be at the main buffet at 7am or before in order to be able to make a reservation. Liked the Italian and Asian. Grounds are very well keept. Fast check in and check out. Playacar area was very safe. When you reserve at Riu Yucatan you can visit Riu Tequila and Riu Playacar. We like a lot Riu tequila, had a great time at "LA pacha" their night club. Hands down to Riu staff, they are aswome. Excellent customer service!!!!

Juanat front desk very professional and should be an icon for the company. Maids and resturaut staff very nice and hard working. Will help with anything. We were taken care of like kings and queens. I would highly recommend this resort. The Pakosz Family

First time to Mexico and RIU Yucatan was a recommendation from a co-worker. It was awesome for us as first timers. Just show up and have fun and relax is really it. It was our 10 year anniversary so we left the kids at home. The resort was completely kid friendly however and I think it kids always lighten the atmosphere anyways. We had "spring breakers" but most were with parents. It really is a great place.
