I love everything about my trip to Playa and my stay at Hacienda tres Rios was very pleasant.

Although, I understand Federal laws are not part of the Hotels rules. I believe, the hotel and Orbitz could have done a better job of letting their customers know before hand that such law will be in effect during travel. This information, will help customers adjust travel dates accordingly or perhaps choosing a different location.

The best part is the river. if you are looking to be in the Ocean look somewhere else because their beach is horrible. They only care about their club members, their food is horrible for people who books with Orbitz, expedia etc... the only ones who can have better food are their club Members. Basically if you want to have great vacations look for a resort that does not favors only their club members. I only give honest reviews, and they lack of customer service and would never stay there again. check out is at 11:00 am but by 8AM the Maid opened the door and were still on bed how rude. Then at 9:45 we went to the breakfast buffet before checking out and when we came back to get our luggage to the room at 10:40 the room was already locked and we had to call the maid so we could open the door and get our stuff out. believe for the price this resort is not worth the visit. I visit Riviera Maya a lot and this resort by far has been the most awful experience. They lacked of kids activities, the kids club was always open and only gave priority to their club members. We wanted to do the Snorkeling and 11:30 am on Saturday and they told us to meet at the Lobby but they never came to give the tour because they had not enough club members on the group. DO NOT COME TO THIS RESORT, LET THEIR MEMBERS USE IT THAT IS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT. look somewhere. they have Super Bad customer Service. their concierge needs a lot of training on customer service.

Words can't describe the experience. From the minute we checked in until we checked out ( and 4 hours after) we were cared for like royalty. Great food, good not watered down drinks, and premium beer. And the security was top notch, they checked license plates in and out and matched them to room numbers and people in the car. The only thing I can say negative is the dock at the cenote is in need of maintenance.

Worst food ever, if you like to est decent food " DO NOT STAY AT THIS JOTEL"

we went family of 4 with young kids 5 and 7 years old. we had a great time at this resort, food and drinks were good. Entertainment could be way better comparing to other resorts we have stayed, but this time we had kids with us so it didn't matter, because they could barely make it until dinner from too much swimming. But if you are looking to party probably not the best choice. pool was extremely cold, ocean temperature was way warmer, but beach is awful, awful, awful.... water was black from the seaweed and sand is quick sand and sinks under your feet which was freaky. River that runs thru the resort was gorgeous and warm, kids enjoyed snorkeling, kayaking and jet ski. Jetski was not part of the resort activities, but they let our kids to be on which was nice, here in the states kids have to be 13 and older even for passengers. Staff was very nice at the lobby, pool, bars, restaurants everyone was very nice and no pressure. they bring vendors on weekends, few tables to shop local souvenirs, and they were also very nice and not pressuring to buy.

The hotel has a beautiful natural cenote and river which you can visit and snorkel into them but it is a shame that the hotel does not take advantage of that because the bad general service, for the Next reasons : 1. Bad attitude at check in. There's no explanation about the cenote and river tour, and about facilities and places to eat and drink. 2. They offer some kind of premium liquor but when bartender gives you your drink uses another of less quality trying to cheat the customer. 3. You have to call front desk in order to clean the room every day when it should be automatic. 4. Only one waitress for beach and pool. Imposible for her to give a good service and when you go to the pool bar for a drink the bartender had bad attitude. 5. Concierge never was in his place when we need asistente 6. The hotel has a "club members" concept which I suppose is for share owners, because nobody in the facilities explain us exactly what it is but you can not use some places throughout the hotel facilities that the club members can. The effect: you finish hating the club members concept and you do not want to be part of that strange "concept". 7. The towels at the pool And rooms are not in good conditions. 8. The bartenders at the pool does not wash the plastic glasses they only put water on them and they use the glasses again.

This resort is more for those who don't want the typical mile long beach. It's in a forest preserve of about 300 acres and sits right at the beach but it is a small beach not one you can walk for miles and there are some rocks. There was lots of seaweed didn't see the beach get much attention but we didn't book it for the beach. The property has 10 onsite cenotes which are all amazing, and a small river for kayaking. Also lots of other activities are onsite. The three pools, which we prefer are incredible and the pool staff were the absolute best I've ever experienced. The resort wasn't crowded even though it was spring break and that could be bcuz it's about a 20 min. taxi ride to town. We were disappointed at the food in the restaurants other than the buffet which was always good and the grill poolside was great. Also the theme night food was very good. I'd say this resort is a 4.5.

The resort itself is very nice and the rooms are good in size and clean. The food overall wasn't the best I've had at an all inclusive and pants required for men in some restaurants. The beach itself is very poor and small, nobody ever cleans the seaweed away and there's hardly anywhere to sit. The pictures online are false of the ocean it is not the normal typical gorgeous blues you see in Cancun and that show online.

We stayed there for 4 nights, we enjoy every moment, especially the tours offered by the resort, excellent tour guide, happy faces everywhere. Highly recommended

Hotel was clean and staff was amazing. The restaurants were not that great. Only one was fairly good and we returned to it even after eating at the other restaurants. The meals were extremely small so you were left hungry. The Italian restaurant was the worst. We were disappointed. Ants on the table, the server got our orders wrong a couple times and one was just the appetizer! Finally the appetizer came out right with our meal. The best part of Portabella was the bottle of wine we had that didn't even come with our all inclusive. We expected for a restaurant that had to have reservations some nights and you had to "dress up" to be able to dine there. The Mexican restaurant was also a disappointment as on our last night we wanted good Mexican food...the mariachi band was awesome just extremely loud... NO real beach, but is on water. It wasn't on a beautiful beach or had water as your typical blue or green you expect from that area possibly because of the run off from the lagoons. The hacienda is a nature reserve so there is a lot of animals to see and is peaceful. The lagoons themselves are clean water. That part was nice.

Had a wonderful time! Loved the adult only pool. Lots to do if you want to stay busy but great too if all you want is to relax.

The hotel was great. My kids really enjoy it. The private beach and river were amazing. Snorkeling with the whole family was a very good experience. Night shows were good The food is not bad but not very good. Too much mosquitos

The Hacienda Tres Rios offered great activities for our daughter (8) . Two nice large pools for relaxing, swimming, aqua aerobics, water volleyball, scuba intro, etc. Food was acceptable with 3 meals being very good. The buffets had a nice variety - expect traditional Mexican dishes at all meals. The Hacienda Grill, Pizzaria, and Poolside grill all offered delivery to your seat at the pool. The nightly entertainment and daily activities were great and offered nice variety. The all inclusive was a very good deal and anything that would include an extra charge such as private meals, excursions, and spa were all communicated clearly. The service was very good and the staff was always helpful. We will definitely visit Hacienda Tres Rios again.

Hacienda Tres Rios is a great getaway for all age groups. The hotel is very beautiful and the staff is incredible, they truly go above and beyond. At Hacienda Tres Rios there is something to do for everyone with their daily activities ranging from kayaking to bike riding around the resort. I had a great stay and highly recommend to everyone.

Staff treats you great, kudos to all. Great tasting food, gourmet type, can't get any better Mexican food. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. This place is one of a kind, eco sustainable, surrounded by three natural rivers, make sure you hear the story. Can't wait to get back to this resort.

This is 3 stars Hotel, although the management presents it as 5 stars. Property has no beach, nice pools, service is very slow.

nice hotels with many activities

we went family of 4 with young kids 5 and 7 years old. we had a great time at this resort, food and drinks were good. beatifull natural cenote and river. worst service
