Beautiful property. The biggest problem was that the buffet restaurant was not open every night so you had to go to a specialty restaurant . And you couldn't get change in US dollars even though you could see they had it. Always wanted to give pesos in change. This was at the resort as well as the shopping area.

The staff was very friendly.

I didn’t like that our room was next to a club with very loud music until 4am. I also didnt like that there was only one beer option.

I read plenty of other reviews before committing to this property. It was helpful and I knew what to expect. First of all, if you don't want to be approached regarding a timeshare or a tour that turns into a timeshare offer, check the box at check-in indicating your disinterest. When the phone rings and they say, "Don't forget to come collect your resort credits up at the front desk", don't go! That's their in. Luckily, this wasn't my first rodeo with all-inclusive resorts so I was prepared and, therefore, didn't feel hassled at all. The food was good! Just make your reservations as is communicated to you. We checked in after the reservation booking cut-off time, so we walked into town and had dinner there the first night. It was nice being that close. We took a stroll downtown just about daily. I read some reviews with complaints about the drinking times... People, if you need to drink before 10am, go to the OXO and get yourself what it is you need. And while you're at it, don't forget to grab a pool towel and throw it on a chair. Chances are, you'll want to be in the water most of the time anyways. Overall, wonderful experience and would go back in a heartbeat. Food, entertainment, cleanliness, housekeeping, hospitality - all great!

Second visit in less than a year, absolutely love this place in every way possible, highly recommend.

Hilton Playa del Carmen, an All-Inclusive Adult Resort, is a gorgeous resort with lots of restaurants/bars to choose from. The pools and beach are amazing; I highly recommend the rooms with the swim-up pools! The staff is phenomenal and very professional. We will definitely go back!

updated and well maintained. staff very friendly and helpful but not pushy. they seemed genuinely pleased to be there unlike some places where the staff seems bored, put out, disinterested. high quality nightly entertainment. very good food, consistent. most dining options open every night. good quality alcohol at the bar (no mexican bathtub gin). the only real drawback was the extensive beach erosion - to the point where the Cananas were pretty much falling into the sea. hopefully Hilton does something about this soon because there is essentially no beach to speak of.

Everything excellent

Really enjoyed the size of the resort and variety/quality of the restaurants. We enjoyed the spa package we purchased and would highly recommend. One downfall was the amount of the times the spa and photography staff came around trying to sell us things. It disrupted a lot of our quality and down time. Our room also had a musty smell to it. Not sure if it was from the ocean air but we had to wash all our clothes when we got home, even ones we didn’t wear.
