Food was amazing. I will admit breakfast was my least favorite but the Dolma restaurant was to die for. Room was clean, staff addressed anything I had trouble with quickly and even gave me a bottle of champagne. Could have had a bit more activities but it was still fun and entertaining. The downtown area is literally right outside of the hotel and I felt safe the entire time. Loved it.

I recently stayed at Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen and unfortunately the overall experience was subpar compared to what I expected from a Hyatt property. One of the most disappointing moments was with the onsite gift shop. I purchased what were supposed to be new Ray-Ban sunglasses for $175, only for them to break at the pool after falling just a few inches. When I went back to address the issue with the store manager, I was met with rudeness and told there were no refunds very unprofessional and not what I would expect from a resort of this caliber. Additionally, I booked what was advertised as a full-day catamaran cruise, yet we only spent about an hour actually on the catamaran. The majority of the trip was spent sitting on an island for four hours, which was not what the package described or what I paid for. The excursions and activities do not match the way they are marketed. Dining was another letdown. The restaurants were only open on certain days, which limited options and flexibility. On top of that, it seemed like almost every day we were being upsold something whether activities, packages, or upgrades which became very frustrating. To make matters worse, when I tried to escalate issues, overall management was not helpful or accommodating. For a Hyatt property, I expected a much higher level of service, professionalism, and accountability. Sadly, I cannot recommend Hyatt Vivid Playa del Carmen based on my experience.

The number one thing that annoyed me about this place was the amount of times the staff harasses you to try and get you to purchase spa treatments, expensive dinners and poolside beds (that’s supposed to be included in the all inclusive price!). Not only that but I am telling u these people will stop at nothing until they get u to spend more and more money. Its ridiculous. They will try and offer u deals and tell u to do a presentation (90mins of your morning out of your limited vacation stay) to get u to purchase timeshares, whatever they offer, don’t do the presentation! I’m telling u it’s not worth it and it’s actually very annoying. They quoted me a price something like $300,000. Like I’m just trying to enjoy my vacation not get harassed by staff keep trying to offer me stuff in every single interaction. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere where you won’t be constantly harassed or marketed to everywhere u go. Go somewhere u can actually relax and enjoy please u will thank me later. We got locked out of our room twice and it was so hot so my husband was able to find another way into our room through the hole in the wall where they deliver room service food. He also was bit by a raccoon that they have running around the poolside of the property. Thank goodness he avoided rabies but we told them about this and you won’t believe they tried to make him pay 200$ to see the doctor on the property (anything for the money I guess right?). I will not be returning to this place.

This is a great hotel for people who want an all inclusive but also want to go out and experience the city. I loved being about to go to 5th ave and exploring the different restaurants without having to rent a car. The food at Hyatt isn’t great but it’s on par for an all inclusive. I did enjoy the Mexican restaurant on site. The staff can be a little relentless with trying to sell their loyalty program especially when we first got there. It got to the point that we were actively avoiding walking past that desk.

Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We have strict dietary restrictions and the chef was so understanding and accomodating. The pool area and hotel has a rustic feel but the rooms are a little dated - very clean though!! I would go back again. We had a very nice time!

I can’t say enough about this hotel! The service was incredible from beginning to end! We were a group of 15 celebrating various life’s events and the staff was so welcoming! A big shout out to Alejandro for keeping my large crazy group, hydrated all day! Alejandro knew most of our names by the end of the trip, accommodated all our needs throughout the day!! THE BEST! Thank you to the pool entertainment staff, especially Aaron, Jeremy and Pepe for being so personable, funny and entertaining!

We recently had a 4 night stay at this resort (8/9/25 to 8/13/25 ). We upgraded to the oceanfront swim up room and it was totally worth it. The staff were incredibly friendly. The food at the restaurants was OK at best. Highlights were Dolma, Pelícanos/ Rincon (taco bar) and Spice Buffet. Things to be mindful of: 1: Upon checking in, they will guide you to desk and present it as a hotel orientation to show you hotel amenities and activity options. These are actually sales people for the Playa Collection Vacation Membership program. They will entice you to a presentation in exchange for a $200 voucher. 2: If you booked a massage at The Spa, the massage therapist will try to upsell you on oils, hot stones and pressure level of the massage WHEN YOU ARE IN THE TREATMENT ROOM right before you start your session. This was really upsetting and frustrating as my wife and I booked a healing treatment couples massage and were really looking forward to our treatment. This ruined the spa experience for us as the treatment room should NOT be the place to upsell guests! We were charged an extra $140 for oils, hot stones, deep tissue level pressure and face serum for our facial. After speaking with other guests, they shared that they had the same experience and it was validated when I brought this up to hotel management and they said that it is their standard practice and the best they could do was give me a 20% discount for the inconvenience. Overall we had a good experience.

Everything about this hotel was great. The staff were exceptional. Special shout out to Alejandro at the pool. We went with a group of 16 and always made sure we had what we needed throughout the day and made our experience great.

Limited food at the resort and no frozen drinks but the neighborhood was very walkable for getting outside food and drinks. Staff was amazing and my husband and I because great friends with Jose at Tequilaria. He helped us practice our Spanish and also recommended some of his favorite local eateries. We had an AWESOME time!
