the property was beautiful, check in was a mess but not Orbitz fault...the first part of trip was through another travel agent. The second part of trip was through Orbitz, the hotel did not receive payment for the first three days, and did not combine the reservations so we could stay in same beach front walk out room which was available the first three days, and they moved us to a master suite looking over the pools and ocean. The hotel did not have hot water for three days of our stay. But we were not the only travelers that this happened to, many were told their stay was not paid?? it was a mess The staff was amazing, staying calm through this, I have no desire to go back to Playa del Carmen

Our stay was great but when we arrived we were told that I didn't have the same room booked so we upgraded which cost us a $100 a night. Apparently there is a sale in place and the data was lost so many people didn't have their reservation when they arrived. I felt sorry for the people working there because they were doing there best. Beautiful hotel and the staff was amazing. Felt like to much of my vacation was spent on checking to see where everything stood.

If you are looking for a tropical beach vacation you will not get it at this hotel. There was a beach in front of it 30 years ago, but no longer. The way the hotel is positioned, there is NO breeze in the pool area. So, it is like sitting in a sauna. The pool is old and dirty. The pool area is small and spilt into two sides. The larger side only has Cabana's that you have to rent for $100.00 per day. Everything is short staffed, the bars, pool side and the restaurants. The staff was nice, and they are running their butts off, but service is slow. The food and drinks are below average. I would look elsewhere if you want a beach getaway.

Okay resort, probably would not stay again. The whole resort is non smoking, even on your personal balcony. You’re required to go out into the street to smoke. Food is mediocre and on the buffet not kept HOT. Breakfast is the best meal of the day—omelette made to order. Staff is amazing, along with coffee shop. But, unless they have a great deal we will not be staying.

Our room had an outlet that didn’t have great connections and I felt the staff could have explained things better when we got there! I felt we were told many things that should have been handled if the planning person wasn’t available. I mean I didn’t know you had a towel key and had to turn the towel to get the key back. Then was told a new towel key would be $50 US dollars! Little things like that. I would go back now that I know what to do!

The staff very friendly. The breakfast buffet was good, the a la carte restaurant were outstanding. Pool was nice and washrooms were clean.

Disappointing experience for an adults-only all-inclusive. The bars don’t open until 11 a.m., and all restaurants close by 10 p.m. Although the snack bar is advertised as open until 11–11:30 p.m., there was no food or beverages available when we went. The hotel itself feels dated, and we had to switch rooms because the electricity wasn’t working in ours. There’s no real beach access, and activities are very limited. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t return to this resort.
