We had both booked rooms with king beds, 1st floor. Upon arrival the rooms were queen beds. The food in the restaurants were better this time also. The staff was very pleasant.

Everything on the resort was close. It wasn't so big that everything was spread out. All rooms are close to food, pool, and beach. The bracelet room keys are the bomb. They should have been invented years ago. No more keeping up with a room key. I did NOT like the membership meeting. Wasted too much beach time sitting in a meeting room.

Unfortunately the food was really bad. No one in our party liked it at all. The climate in the room was not good at all. When we first got there the room was too hot and VERY humid. It took three phone calls before they “fixed” it. But then we got sick (my wife couldn’t breathe at night, we both had headaches and coughing). The staff was very friendly and attentive so thank you for that.

The property was very eco-friendly.

Sargasum at the beach

Size was not too small and not too big. Loved the close proximity of the beach. Shows were subpar. Entertaining but not great. Food was average to above average.

What I love about this resort is that it’s a small resort and everything is within a few steps. What I don’t like about this resort is that there is no air conditioning in the cafeteria, bar area and lobby. In the cafeteria you need air conditioning otherwise you’ll eating in sweats!!! For that reason I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until you’re okay with eating in sweats. Food does not taste pleasant. And food was just okay. If you still do decide to come to a resort like this, remember that you’re in the jungle and insect repellent is a must as you’ll get bitten up by mosquitoes or sand flies or whatever insects are out there.

If you are hot natured or even a normal human, do not visit this resort in the hottest times of the year. We made the mistake of staying in July (2022) and I stayed HOT! The room and gift shop was the only reprieve from the heat. The dining area (there was only one) had a huge indoor space and a small outdoor area. Inside was like a sauna. If you like eating in a sauna, you're good. Outside was a little better but we were still sweating through out breakfast/lunch/dinner. If you're traveling with a large group (we were a group of 10) they can/will NOT accommodate all of you for dinner in one of their reservation only restaurants. Even they were warm. Our room's thermostat would not go below 72, but it was ok compared to everywhere else. The pool was the temperature of a hot tub. The ocean was the only place one could cool off and there was so much seaweed. They did do a good job of cleaning some off in the mornings. I felt so bad for the nightly entertainment staff. That area was not air conditioned either. The resort is beautiful and the staff was friendly (not so much the front desk) but it was just too uncomfortable for us. We will not be returning.

The property was beautiful. The employees were always very nice and were busy keeping everything cleaned up. The only downfall i saw was the inability to eat at the special restaurants that was on the main property.

Small but had a a great vacation overall.

Everything was great

I like the fact that everything is within walking distance. The food a la carte was really good but the buffet needs a little more variety and the food needs to be warmed if it should be warmed. Nothing worse than cold tortillas or soup. People were helpful but they can be more friendly. They were not rude but they did not that friendly either. Thanks Eva

Playacar area is the best. Viva Azteca absolutely delivered all of our expectations

The accommodations were average, the grounds and beaches were great and well maintained. Reservations for the on-site restaurants were nearly impossible as we only were able to dine once by reservation during our weeks stay. Otherwise, the food on the buffet was NOT good which is where we ate as part of the all inclusive. We would choose another resort knowing what we now know.

Property well kept and maintained staff very friendly, courteous and professional.

Great stay. It is a small resort but has everything that you need. The Entertainment staff were amazing! Ernesto, Francisco, Mar, Julisa, Danny ...... Daily activities at the pool and on the beach. Spectacular shows in the evening. Highlight of our trip! Bartenders were so friendly and accommodating. They took amazing care of us and keeping us hydrated ;) Our room was well taken care of by the friendly staff. Pop was stocked in the fridge. Cleaning was on point. This is a ECO resort, make sure you bring reusable water bottles to fill at the purified water stations. Note: Snack bar has only pizza and burgers after Dinner time. Loved the resort, lovely beach.
