POOR BEACH SAFTY! My friend & my son (12yrs Down syndrome) were enjoying some beach time. When it was time for our Covid test I tried to get him off the shore. He got very angry and took off into the ocean. I kept calling to him but it became obvious to me that he wasn’t going to stop. I immediately then ran to a lifeguard and implored his help! He seemed very confused & relaxed by my request to PLEASE PLEASE go help him! He casually started blowing his whistle and try to get my sons attention to return. Meanwhile my friend went in to try to catch up to my son to see what she could do so I could get help. My son waved off the lifeguards whistling and kept going out further and further toward the ropes. Now I became frantic and was yelling for help! At this point the lifeguard was missing and some parents gathered around me. A fellow male adult guest was asking me what was happening and offer help. At that point my son, had in fact crossed over the rope very far out now into the jet ski zone. With no lifeguards in sight, I ran, crying and begging for help to the jet ski staff. They finally drove out and picked up my son! When I reported this incident I received a very brief chat with a manager with a very poor apology and equally poor explanation of procedure. I was still sitting there shaking and crying as I felt like I almost could have lost my son do to the lack of safety provided. No additional follow up from the hotel whatsoever. More to the story but out of space here.
The property and room were very nice. Service and personnel were attentive and eager to help. Bars had quality personnel & know-how; drinks weren't weak. Food was good; only one theme restaurant was somewhat disappointing (Argentine steakhouse). The Asian, Italian and Brasilian theme dinners were good. The beaches and water were pleasant and clean. The pool areas also were clean and well-attended. The property has 2 areas for customer service, but each doesn't handle all functions, so one could be sent to the other. Given that one's on top of the hill & one's closer to the bottom, this could be inconvenient. I'd suggest to the property to make functions equally handled by both, for an immediate improvement in guest service. Also, we wished to tip frequently, but several attempts to break 10- and 20-dollar bills were unsuccessful at the lobbies and at bars. This is an easy & needed fix. Guests should know that this property has service levels; those who have club membership get better/more access to bars and some food options. I've not stayed at a property at which such distinctions were so noticeable (maybe my experience is unusual). Of course, memberships are sold; they're kind of like timeshares, but not exactly. I'm a former sales rep., so I must say that the offering of memberships wasn't pervasive or rude; in fact, I was very impressed with the sales professionalism by the staff that offered memberships. Caveat emptor.
This property has very friendly staff and very helpful great for families really pretty hotel really clean great service overall my husband and I and our three kids had an amazing time we would definitely come back or possibly try a different sandos
Property location, all the wild life and trees walking trails
I really enjoyed the pool, the food was fantastic, the shuttle made it easy to get around, the bartenders were great and Carlos was our favorite shuttle driver. He was wondeful. He always had a plesant attitude and he went above and beyond to help with my friend that was in a wheelchair. The one thing i didnt care for was the desserts. They all looked so perfect amd fancy, but they just didnt have much taste to them. Would have liked to see some different varietys of dessert. Maybe pies or cake and larger variety of cupcakes both at the buffet and the cupcake cafe would have been great.
The place is real clean and everybody is real friendly.
Beautiful place, good food and restaurants, Good customer service, very clean, love all inclusive. We really had enjoy any Sandos we had stay in🥰♥️
The place was great. The food was good and the beach and pool were great.
The adult only section was awesome
Different tippe
Overall the resort is nice. The grounds are beautiful and well kept…you feel like you’re in a jungle but the resort overall could use a few updates. The checking in and out process needs to be updated. The main lobby should at least have a ceiling fan…very hot. The rooms are nice but the drapes and furniture need updating or a good cleaning. The staff are very friendly and helpful, restaurants were nice but the food for my personal taste was very salty. The night time entertainment was very good. Pools were nice and not overcrowded. I think if you want to relax and just lounge about this place is great …there are plenty of spots you could sit and just enjoy the beauty of the grounds in the shade enjoying the breeze. It would get 5 stars if the check-in/ lobby was better and the rooms were a bit updated. Overall it’s a nice place. Oh and the beach is gorgeous unfortunately we couldn’t get in the water because of the seaweed issue currently going on. If the beach is your thing be sure to check the time of year to go so you don’t encounter seaweed issues.

The immediate reaction to the property is negative as the check-in process takes more than half an hour which is ridiculous after all that travel to get there. The family section is far from the beach and trolley service is not frequent. The buffet selections are very limited versus pre-covid conditions. Otherwise, the grounds are beautiful and the staff provide excellent service. In current state, I would consider this a 3 star out of 5 resort and a fair value for the money but I visited it years ago when I would have considered it a 4 star at that time.
