Location, safety, staff, food. Too much seaweed on the beach.

Friendly and attentive staff. Rooms were cleaned and stocked everyday.

Hotel needs some updating. Staff was excellent! Drinks were excellent. Excellent entertainment and close to downtown shopping area.

Not bad at all. The storm was all week and a lot of seaweeds in the water

Resort situated on a beautiful long stretch of beach. Fun to be able to visit surrounding RIU's. Resort is kept spotlessly clean and service is impeccable. We visited during a very quiet week and resort could use more music around pool area and thru out resort.

The staff in all areas were friendly and excellent as always

Very impressed with our experience- pool area was beautiful and clean-the staff are very friendly and always saw them cleaning, picking up around the pool area and public places. Very attentive waitstaff around the pool-always had a drink in my hand! Plenty of loungers around pool and beach-just a couple reservers were claiming the best 10 spots at the pool. The food was good-very middle of the road-likely won’t appeal to picky eaters or people expecting a culinary adventure. Everything I ate was delicious-and I hate buffets in general but this was nice-ate at all of the specialty restaurants-very good! Top shelf liquors. Our room was comfortable but we had no view-the property is set far back from the beach so there is not a true ocean front view. It is a bit of a walk from room to the pool and beach. Overall had a very enjoyable experience and very pleased with the property

Hotel was decent enough, staff was friendly (for the most part - see below) but for the price I guess I expected much more. First time at an all inclusive and I found the experience somewhat disappointing. The food was mediocre at best (tough NY strip steak at the steak restaurant, soggy chips at the Mexican place and somewhat stale food at Club 24 as examples) and the drinks were INCREDIBLY watered down. I guess I should have expected this but we were very frustrated that there was no enforcement of their policy of not saving chairs at the pool. We'd watch all day long as chairs were unused but someone had thrown a towel on it to save it in case they wanted to sit poolside. Just very frustrating particularly as the hotel was very busy due to spring break. Also was somewhat surprised by the Hungarian desk staff who thought it would make a good first impression to correct my Spanish. I had forgotten to use 'ser' instead of 'estar' when asked "De donde estas?" (Where are you from?) and he very curtly said - "It is actually 'De donde eres?' " Way to make a guest feel welcome! Don't think a native speaker would do something like this as we had many others (Mexicans) who were pleasantly surprised when we spoke Spanish to them and politely dealt with whatever errors we made.

I spent nearly 5 days at Palace Mexico with my boyfriend - we are two young professionals in our 20s and had a fantastic stay with Riu. Most notably, the staff was incredibly hospitable and friendly. Whether you are by the beach, pool, or terrace, a staff member is always there within minutes of your arrival to take a drink order. We absolutely loved the pool and beach area. Breakfasts and lunch buffets were very well done and we were quite happy. With dinner, some restaurants / buffet items were hit or miss, but would definitely recommend the steakhouse and the Mexican restaurants for great food. All in all, my boyfriend and I loved the resort and thought it was just perfect for us! Very relaxing.

Everything was perfect. From the staff to yhe food and drinks. Rooms were updated and clean. Beaches were combed everyday and grounds were cleaned every hour of every dsy. I will 100% rrturn to to location soon!

Relaxing time with my family - delicious food and staff was wonderful Spa was great Drinks were wonderful Kids (older ages 9 and 12) had a FABULOUS time Close to excursions

Food and staff: After eating lunch on my last day I started feeling terrible stomach pain, weakness, almost fainting. I went to the front desk twice saying I need help & need to speak to the manager to alert them there might be something in their food. Three different people at the reception at 7PM on a Sunday said "every manager is in a very important meeting that only happens once a year and there is noone to talk to you", "we can't help you", clearly not true and bad customer service. I had too look for help, found a lady who performed some admin function in nearby office who called a manager (I think manager name was Francesca). After I explained to Francesca I don't feel well, she started saying their hotel has nothing to do with it, this is something I brought with me from USA. Well, I have never been sick in my life, the healthiest person you'd know, so again-bad attitude. She also looked like she is not taking what I say seriously, then I threw up right in front of her. She admitted that hotel has had norovirus last month, had many cases this month, then again said that I brought it with me, it is not their hotel. I threw up again same evening, was fine next day, so it was definitely food poisoning from that lunch. when I was in the bathroom throwing up there was a lady who said she and her husband have been sick too, for several days. You can see how widespread food issue is in that hotel. I took 2 other Mexico vacations this year with no food issues whatsoever.

From the moment you step in to the time to say Goodbye we were surrounded with care and attention of staff members. That was my best experience in All inclusive resorts!

We have stayed at the RIU Palace Mexico several times and continue to enjoy our visits. The staff is always very professional and accommodating. The dining is really first class with a menu that would please most anyone. We will be back soon.

Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and the beach was beautiful!

It is our third stay in Riu Palace Mexico, the place is great, with excelent facilities, very friendly and accomodating staff. The food is separate story it is outstanding whether you go to buffet style or traditional restaurants. The beach is wide , clean and staff is serving any beverages all day. It is place to stay in playa del Carmen and entire Cancun area.
