Excellent Resort. Highly recommend. Great beach.

The staff and resort was excellent! The only downfall was the food.

Everything about this hotel is great. The entire staff is very friendly and eager to service the quests from the moment you set foot off the taxi when arriving to the moment you hop back on the the taxi when leaving. The entire staff is very hard working and always greats you with a smile. I requested a private dinner on the beach for my wife and I and the restaurant staff not only prepared a great set up on the beach but they also prepared an additional set up in the restaurant with the table closest to the sand and water in case we requested to move the dinner in due to the high winds that night. We will definitely be returning there.

There is no restaurant reservation which is awesome. They have premium drinks, another awesome thing. Rooms are stocked and modern with great shower. All is great. The pool towel system is annoying, just give towels to your customers. Pool is great at night as the crowd is less. Beach have sea weed but that is a Cancun issue not this specific hotel.

We love staying here. This was our second visit. Staff make you feel welcomed and accommodate you in any way.

Great service and food selections. Entertainment team was fun, overall good place to stay.

Very clean- super nice staff! Massages were amazing and the staff did everything they could to help you have a relaxing stay!

Excellent and friendly service; special shout out to waiters Viktor and Israel, and all front desk employees who were extraordinarily helpful. This is a beautiful, clean, recently renovated property. Believe this was our #10 Riu Palace vacation (alternating w/ RP Punta Cana and RP Riviera Maya), but certainly not the last. Love that they appreciate repeat customers and give upgrades when they can. Evening shows were very nice. Beach was eroded this year and had seaweed, but all hotels have this problem in the area. Tennis court was unfortunately eliminated from the property, but RP Mexico had courts 8 min walk away. Wish they still taught Latin dances at the pool. Highly recommend this property.

I enjoyed the friendliness of the staff, the evening entertainment, close proximity to shopping areas and excursions. I did not like the service at Krystal or that guests were allowed to be ghetto at the pool

Excellent hotel, very nice rooms and very good food. Covid still around though.

The only reason why I didn’t gave them five stars or Exx and ra has nothing to do with the hotel. It’s about the beach, which was really difficult to manage with all the debris in algae around it. Made it difficult to enjoy. No swimming possible. I know is nature but if you want to enjoy the ocean you have to go to isla mujeres or Cozumel. Hotel wise is amazing in every other aspect.

Everything was Amazing!!! We will come back soon 😍when we found a good package

From the time you are greeted at the front door and "welcomed home" by Paulino to the time you leave everything about the Riu Palace Riviera Maya is amazing. If you want a more festive atmosphere you can go to the pool bar where Jorge, Victor and the rest of the guys take care of your every drink request. The activities crew has something fun scheduled for guests every day whether it be yoga, pool volleyball, a foam party or a conga line. And the beach is gorgeous! Rows of lounge chairs where you can relax and take in the clear aquamarine water. The food is great, too. We actually enjoyed the buffets even more than the restaurants. So many options and everything is delicious. We've been to the Riu Palace in Cabo which is why we chose another Riu Palace for this trip but this location was hands down our favorite of the two. We're already planning our next visit!

The restaurants should require a dinner reservation. The bedrooms are unsafe due to the steps-split level..I slipped and by instinct grabbed the dividing glass and almost ripped my hand apart. Not safe at all.

Excellent staff and service! Amazing food!

I took my wife and sons (2 and 5) to Riu Palace in April 2022 and was blown away. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. Here are some deets: For starters, everyone at this resort is extremely professional. Check-in was fast and we were able to get into our room right away. Upon arrival we found our room was perfectly-prepared—two double beds were pushed together to create a giant bed and a second single bed was brought into the room to ensure we had enough sleeping space. It’s exactly what we needed. The fridge is stocked with all the water, soda, and booze you want and the view from our balcony was amazing! This was our first all-inclusive experience as I’ve never trusted that I’d enjoy eating at the same property every day but the food was great! I didn’t eat at any of the restaurants because the buffets had everything we could ask for. In one week’s time we only ate off the property twice because we were shopping on 5th Avenue. The resort is very kid-friendly and the staff helped us accommodate them at every opportunity. Waiters gave us liters of milk for our little guy, we always had a spot at the pool to keep them out of the sun, there was tons of food the kids were thrilled with… it was perfect. From all the properties I’ve seen in Playa del Carmen and based on my family’s experience, we’d come back to Riu Palace Riviera Maya in a heartbeat.

I have stayed in Playa Del Carmen over 20 times, and at previous RIUs in Cancun years ago. This was the third time in the past year in PDC in fact. Unfortunately, I would not recommend RIU Palace Riviera Maya, and do not plan to stay at another RIU again. Their customer service and management experience was sub-par. They did not address the mix up of our room types appropriately, causing us to lose out on comfort and a night of vacation time- giving us what we had paid for. I would recommend other nearby hotels such as Iberostar.
