I am travel often due to my job and get to experience all kinds and levels of hotels. This stay we were a family of 3, two adults one 8 year old. The facilities are very clean, very well kept and the employees hospitality it’s the best. The place it’s perfect for family with kids or just adults. We saw kids and just couples walking around and no one seemed out of place. The food options are great within the restaurants of the facility. You can also either take a 5 min cab ride to Playa del Carmen 5th Ave ( it’s their primary shopping district) or just walk about 5 minutes to a shopping area within the resorts complex. Either way we felt very safe walking around within the resort area (out of the hotel) or downtown shopping around and trying local food. The pools are great and within a convenient steps distance to a very beautiful beach. Lastly there are a few open bars along the hotel, but one thing I noticed is that we didn’t see anyone drunk or out of place. So basically yes there is free alcohol all day long, but the majority of the guest are in a family environment and not trying to get wasted. Overall will stay there again and recommend to anyone

My husband and I went with 2 other couples thinking it is an adults only resort, IT IS NOT!!!! (When we booked on Orbitz it stated that) I thought it would be more action, there was no Musik most of the time during the day, so that was boring, the service is very good except the one heavy guy by the big pool (with seats in water) we would give him $1 tip he would be very rude looking at us asking if we wanted change back! He was not friendly and if he made jokes he wasn’t funny, didn’t like his attitude at all. We would order drinks he’d get them an hour later… The white party and the foam party was the most fun!

This was probably the nicest room i've stayed in. they keep everything very clean! the entertainment is very lacking and seems to be a place for older people that go to sleep early. not much happening in the evenings. the specialty restaurants were not good. the best food was pepe's grill, and the regular buffet. but beautiful views and only a 5 min ride from downtown shopping. convenient location and seems very safe with security. all the employees were very friendly and got us anything we needed.

celebrated my birthday this past week here at RIU Palace Riviera Maya! Absolutely loved it the best resort on the block it seemed like. Staff is super friendly, resort is very clean and updated rooms. Don’t waste your time at the restaurants on the property, we really thought the buffets were the best options food wise! Tip your bartenders or other workers they show great hospitality! We got the most out of our trip, We definitely enjoyed everything i’ll be recommending to family and friends

Its a beautiful property, staff super friendly,food is good,we will go back again and will recommend to our friends.....any shuttle services from the Airport will be a big bonus....we had a wonderful short and sweet vacation!

The facility is beautiful and the food was amazing!! The grounds are immaculate and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly! The room and bed were very comfortable. Great pool and beach area too! We loved every minute of our stay!

This is one of the best resorts I've been to in Riviera Maya. The staff are outstanding. The grounds and the beach are great and clean and the food is excellent. We took someone with a handicap and I think they need more elevator access. Other than that PHENOMENAL!

Great staff and very clean facilities! The resort food and drinks are mediocre at best . There are basically no activities . The pools are very small and boring not even any music . This is a resort for older folks who just want to sit by the pool and read . I felt they should have had shuffleboard or bocce . Rooms were nice and clean .
