Really liked all the animals to see around the property. The staff was excellent everywhere except in the restaurants that required reservations. In both places we went they were terrible. All other places- pool, buffet, front desk, bell hop they were all excellent!! The pool & beach are great!

This was my 5th visit to this hotel, but the first time I stayed on the Quetzel side (always stayed on the Tucan side before). Service, food, amenities, etc. were all outstanding. This is why I choose to return to this resort. The beach was full of seaweed this time of year (which isn't their fault), so I will not be returning in Sept. again, but would whole heartedly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to enjoy a nice, relaxing, fun-filled vacation in the sun! Very nice - thanks again!

We loved the nature and being able to be surrounded by different types of animals and the forest makes this place unique

Really big beach and great water. There was seaweed but it was not bad and was not near the problem it is at other spots. Big pool area with a separate aqua bar pool and a separate sports pool. Well planned. The grounds were beautiful with the middle of the resort basically a jungle setting with carved out areas and waterfalls. Food was really good including the supper buffet. Very good variety and everything tasted great. Excellent staff. My wife had broken her ankle a few months before the trip and still wasn't getting around well. Anytime we wanted to go eat or head up near the front of the resort all I had to do was make a phone call and the staff would immediately send a cart to pick us up. Awesome service! Beach front rooms were awesome except for air conditioning did not work well. Not a problem for the king bed area because of a nice ceiling fan but my two sons were hot sleeping in the sofa bed area. Tried three times to get it fixed and they tried some things but couldn't get it improved. All in all an excellent resort!

Need to update their AC units and mini refrigerator. AC was weak. I thought it was only my room then I asked around. More than 5 guests told me the same. One regular visitor told me it’s been like that for a while and that he just got used to it. Besides the AC issue. I would recommend this Hotel and I would come back. Entertaining very good! Animación muy bien.

Hotel is very clean, staff is friendly, entertainment team is very nice and active. We liked food and shows.

Awesome beach. Good food. Nice pools. Good drinks.

Nice hotel en general but they need to improve in night time restaurants special The Italian , the food very poor quality.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Quetzal. We loved the jungle and all of the animals. The food was pretty good and it was easy to book reservations in one of the 4 restaurants. The beach was really nice and the staff did a good job making sure there was not to much seaweed. We loved the pool. My five year old daughter spent hours in it! We did have trouble with the safe in our room. We called 4 times to get someone to help, but no one ever came. The drinks seemed a little watered down, but you could always get more. There were also a lot of activities to do on the hotel grounds. Overall we had a great time.

Very nice resort food ok staff wonderful beds could be more comfortable

The only thing I would complain about is the seaweed in the ocean right now. This has nothing to do with this hotel as it is all along the entire coast. Just a bummer it was bad during our stay. The staff at this hotel is beyond amazing. If you get a chance, enjoy a massage in the jungle....simply amazing. Ask to be placed by the waterfall beds for your massage....so relaxing!

Although we did the online chech in, others that were with us got there room key faster than we did. This is our 2nd time staying there and we would go back. Can’t beat the jungle like grounds with all the wildlife all of the time. Close walk to town and the very helpful and friendly staff all of the time!

Hotel is in the jungle, beautiful setting, but loud and consistent animal sounds (peacocks and monkeys) around, so bring earplugs if you want to sleep. Pools and beach are nice, even though a large quantity of algae reached the shore after a storm. Food is abundant but mediocre at the buffet. Nightly shows are ok.

Very natural setting, comfortable rooms and pleasant staff. Fresh fruits, vegetables and other healthy options at every meal.

The hotel property itself was great. The food was horrible. This was by far the worst resort we have stayed at. We upgraded to the "Star Prestige" to ensure we would get the best of everything. It was a mistake. The bar in the upgrade area had limited supplies and the waitress had to go walk to the inside every time if you wanted a mixed drink of any kind. Also, they were way understaffed. The resort does not have a hot tub, which was a disappointment.

The hotel staff was beyond friendly, the rooms were always clean, and the dining staff was some of the best and on top of it we have experienced. We had to call housekeeping one morning because my teenage daughter was sick thru the night and we did the best we could to clean the bathroom up, they arrived immediately and did a thorough job of cleaning the room even changing out the sheets out. We usually book at different places each year to try different places out but we are coming back to Iberostar Quetzal!
