The resort grounds were beautiful with lots of wildlife - this was the highlight. Staff service was a little slow but all extremely friendly and overall very good however we were disappointed that they placed our family of 11 across the resort in different buildings despite our multiple requests and advanced attempts to have us placed together. We were luckily placed near our aging parents so we were able to help them. There are some things I wished we knew in advance though. 1) There is no hot tub. 2) While the resort common areas are modern, the rooms are a little old. Our bathroom reflected more of a 3-star hotel. 3) food was ok, and not as good as at other luxury all inclusive hotels. The buffet gets old quick and we found ourselves going to the beach or “the mall” for our lunches. The Japanese place is the best. 4) Two people in our family had a gluten allergy and there were always options for them. 5) one of the reasons we chose this hotel was because we were offered two resort credits at booking: $500 and $300. There was no information provided and we had assumed we could use that credit for anything - it is instead doled out as $25 coupons and to use one $25 coupon, you need to spend $100. It is a scam as everything at the hotel is extremely overpriced. 6) there is a constant undertone of the hotel trying to upsell from before you arrive with room and then even different hotel upgrades, to private dinners. And then there is the timeshare pitch; it felt gross…

rooms with bathroom were aged. the à la carts are not different restaurants they are just closed down buffet spots. every place looked exactly the same. it was a linear resort. nothing for teens. activity staff were moderate. xmas buffet was great. breakfast buffet was excellent. other buffet were moderate.

The service refused to turned our credit into ibero cash so we can use it at gift shops or services. We lost our credit. Front desk refuted to notify us that our taxi was there to pick us up for airport transportation. We had to call a taxi and lost our already paid airport transportation.

Room were well cleaned, but the room lamps had spots on them. I paid the price compared to Selection / Lindo but got the lowest standard rooms -> wave and Lindo. The food was mediocre at the best. Keep in mind one cannot use Selection and Lindo amenities. Cancun is quite over rated in my opinion.

Food was not very good at all. Very bland and my daughter and I ended up getting food poisoning one night. Beds were very hard and pillows were lumpy. Other than that the resort was beautiful and staff were very friendly. Lots of cool animals all around as well.
