I stayed at the Marriott in Sydney circular quay and was greeted upon entering the hotel. The check-in went very smoothly with giving much information provided. Your room was quiet and comfortable. The only problem I had was not getting room maid service one day and had to call several times to get the room cleaned. I would definitely stay there again. It is a great location. I ate once in the dining room and it was great food and great service. Definitely recommend this hotel, particularly for the service and the location.

Good location and clean hotel, but not quite the standard the Marriott used to be. Check-in was okay, staff friendly enough but the welcome was fairly average. The room was clean and tidy, though the view wasn’t what we expected, and being right next to the lifts made it noisy at busy times. We also asked for room servicing that never happened and had to request fresh towels a couple of times. Breakfast was excellent — great service, plenty of choice, and fresh omelettes made by the chef. Breakfast hours were longer than most hotels, which was a big plus. Overall: good location, safe and clean, great breakfast, but service not as strong as it used to be.

Our room looked onto a construction site and there were workers on the hotel 2 levels below outside the window. We should be warned of this and offered another room. Bathroom run down and neglected. Good location otherwise.

Disappointing Stay – Not as Expected We were quite disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We had booked a premium room, but the one we received was far from what was advertised. The wardrobe doors had many scratches, the toilet seat and shower head were old, and the bed was uncomfortable. The TV did not work properly, and there was only one small hook near the sink, which made it difficult to hang towels. Overall, the room looked very cheap compared to the “premium” category we booked. Breakfast was also below expectations. The variety was limited, and some of the food did not appear fresh. Juice jugs were not refilled unless we specifically asked, and the same happened with some of the food trays. Tables were not cleared promptly, and the staff seemed unresponsive and slow in service. The only positive aspect of our stay was that we were allowed an early check-in at 11:00 a.m. and a late check-out at 12:00 p.m., which we appreciated. Unfortunately, despite this small convenience, the overall experience was disappointing, and I would not choose to stay at this hotel again.

Front reception staff member when we first checked in was unfortunately abrupt and did not explain card processing refund deposit would take 30 days if a visa debt card and wrong card no was placed on my account for refund so had to contact reception to correct it.room was ok, breakfast menu not worth money, so will not be booking here again.

Location was excellent for easy walking access to Circular Quay. Check in process as smooth. Room was good, slightly tired in parts and we would have expected a few more toiletry items supplied like toothpaste, etc but all in all a great stay and we would stay here again.

The hotel staff were excellent. Nothing was an issue for them. The facilities available were great with the location very convenient to the Sydney International Cruise Terminal. The rooms were quite dated, albeit the hotel restaurant, foyer etc. were good. We had a Sydney Opera House view and were on floor 28. The view was good, however there were buildings in front so it literally was a window view. I wound definitely stay again and recommend staying there for anyone wanting to be close to the cruise terminal.

Overall, our stay at the Marriott in Sydney was excellent. The location is fantastic — very walkable, with plenty of nearby transportation options and attractions. The property itself was clean and comfortable, though the rooms and hotel could use a bit of updating. The food was excellent, with a great variety and high quality at every meal. We also appreciated the Nespresso coffee maker in the room — a nice touch. The staff were generally good and helpful, but communication could have been better. After I had a fall just outside the hotel (not on their property), the handling and follow-up were not well coordinated. Notes about our room and situation weren’t clearly passed along between staff, and we often had to repeat the same information to different people. It seemed their main concern was clarifying that the fall didn’t happen on their property rather than ensuring smooth communication afterward. Despite that, we enjoyed our stay overall. It’s a great hotel in an ideal location, with excellent food and comfortable accommodations — just a few improvements in staff communication and room updates would make it outstanding.

This hotel is very convenient to Circular Quay. This was particularly helpful as we stayed there prior to our cruise and walked right from the hotel to the ship. Our room was updated and the lobby was very nice.
