Our family of 4 stayed at the Hyde Park Inn for a long weekend. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and very comfortable. The location is great too. We overlooked Hyde Park which was lit up at night, looking great from our balcony. It is also quiet with little traffic noise at night. The apartment has all amenities needed for a weekend away, your own kitchen fridge, stove and kitchen ware to cook if you wish. The hotel also provided breakfast, left in the fridge for us, which consisted of bread, spreads, cereals, milk, juice and fruit cups. Very handy. The location is great to be able to walk into circular quay, the rocks and many other places are close by. Also you are only 2 stops on the train to circular quay and the station is 1/2 a block from the front door. Brilliant location, great service and great facilities. We will definitely return here on future trips to Sydney.
This is our third time visiting Sydney Australia and staying at the Hyde Park Inn. The location is great as it is in walking distance to the breathtakingly beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens. There are easy bus connections near the front and also across the street from the hotel. We had great views overlooking Hyde Park. Request a higher floor for water views.(we stayed on the 13th floor) The kitchenette area is convenient for a light breakfast that they provide, (per person: 2 slices of bread, fruit cup, orange juice, cereal, milk, jam, butter). Tea and coffee are also provided. A newspaper left at your door in the morning is a nice touch. We had the deluxe studio that had a small balcony. The windows are double paned so you really do not hear the street traffic. The hotel has a computer area that can be used if needed for printing a boarding pass. The Bondi coastal walk is safe and beautiful! A ferry ride to Many Beach is fun! Also, check out the ferry ride to Watsons Bay and meander the cute neighborhood streets to the quaint beach. At the beach, you can take a short coastal walk to the lighthouse. Did I say I love Sydney Australia?.....I do! .
We're over the moon. Less than 200 Mtrs from the Musuem Station, clean, comfortable & great service. It's our permanent stay for the future. We'll be back more regularly now we've found our comfort sport. Great👍
Unfortunately when we were given a room and we went up it was't ready, which for the price we were paying I felt disappointed with. I'm not sure if the phone was working as I tried to call reception 5 times and finally had to go down myself. The situation was rectified quickly. The room had a lovely view and it was great to have a kitchenette when travelling with children. The beds were comfortable. It did state sound proof rooms but you can still hear the traffic outside. It was fantastic to be very close to the city circle train line. It made getting around very easy.
We visit Sydney each year in June for business but get a few days in before hand for holiday. This year we decided to look for a hotel that had a kitchenet and was central to the city. We found this at the Hyde Park Inn. The room was clean and well serviced. The staff were polite and the kitchenet was great. We were able to cook our evening meals without having to go to expensive resturaunts with kids. My only comments is that the entrance is dated and some common area carpets are worn. The room although was in excelllant condition. We are moving to another hotel for the last two nights to meet up with business colleges. What for next review.
Nice hotel friendly helpful staff, we had some good views right onto the park below hotel was clean luxury bathroom good decent beds and we had a balconey it also included some basic stuff like tea coffees and cereals biscuits its a good location for public transport ideal for getting to the airport avoiding busy times during rush hour. Its a good location for walking to everything also was about 20 minutes to the harbour walking at a nice pace nice central. Would recommend this place to anyone.
Ok tips - call up as early as possible to get a car park under the building otherwise it's parking at Goulburn car park a couple of blocks away and u can only take ur car out once a day for free. Stay as high up as possible to avoid noise from Elizabeth st. Reception is good and the continental breakfast is good. Whilst I may not come back I am still recommend others to try it out as it's proximity to other activities is great.
I recently stayed at Hyde Park Inn with family as we were visiting to see the Vivid Light Festival. We had room 207, which has one double bed and one single. This room has windows facing the street and Hyde Park. Noise was not too bad, but you could hear traffic. It quietens down a lot between midnight and 5am, but then as people start travelling to work, the traffic noise increases. The room was clean, had a working TV, fridge and free things for breakfast. Cereal, muesli, milk, bread for toasting, various toppings in little packets. Bathroom was clean. They only provide shampoo and liquid hand soap, in dispensers anchored to the wall. You'll want to bring your own shower gel, conditioner and shampoo. The location is great. There's St James train station at one end of Hyde Park, and Museum at the other end. It's a short stroll to Martin Place and only about 20 minutes to Circular Quay if you are up for a walk instead of catching a train. There's convenience stores nearby that stay open late. The price was reasonable and the room was comfortable and did its job. The beds were a little firm but clean. Pillows are also a little firm so you may get a sore ear from lying on your side. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi was available free for a period of 24 hours.
The hotel is not too big and the service is very efficient . The reception helped to print out the boarding passes and stored our luggages after checking out. The reception also helped to book a maxi taxi as we were leaving on a night flight. Breakfast was ready in the fridge for next day consumption. Bus stop is just a few metres away and walking distance to Australian Museum and Darling harbour. Watching the vivid Sydney performance was indeed awesome and spectacular. Public transportation is good. Apartment is clean and with many beds. I was staying in room 401 which comes with 1 king,1 queen and 2 singles. Another sofa bed in the living room. It's a huge room but no view! Will stay again due to its perfect location.
Great value hotel with amazing location and solid amenities and service. We had the two bedroom front apartment, which was perfect for our trip of three adult family members. Our apartment was very comfortable, and nicely styled, with lovely views over Hyde Park and out to the heads. It was an enjoyable and spacious place for us to stay. The cleanliness was good, and the room windows were double glazed so it was quiet. There was a large guest laundry downstairs, and car-parking and wi-fi was included in our room price. Some bread, cereals, milk & spreads were provided daily as a continental breakfast. While not a luxury hotel, this hotel is really nice, and with the location and the reasonable rates & inclusions is great value for Sydney, so highly recommended by us. My only criticism is the pillows weren't very comfortable. All three of us found them rock hard and uncomfortable, and had to use the decorative cushions on the bed, so this is a small thing that needs to improve to make it a 5 star tripadvisor rating. Otherwise the beds were comfortable.
