Pier One Sydney Harbour, Marriott Autograph Collection5.0 out of 5.0

Nice renovation of the old pier to create a hotel with a great vibe. Staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Got really good advice from the concierge. Bar food is prepared from a food truck on the pier. The beef brisket was very tasty - as an entree/starter. But for something more substantive go for the slow cooked lamb with fries. Great seating areas all the way along. Rooms tidy and well appointed. A bit pricey but you are paying for the whole location experience with the Harbour Bridge towering above.
We spent 4 nights here recently. We had a lovely 2nd floor room that looked out over the water and was very comfortable. Hotel room and bathroom set out spaciously and lovely large bed and plenty of wardrobe and draw space. Reasonable restaurant all through the day that catered very well to all dietary requirements. The only disappointment was the noise up until midnight. Any rooms situated looking over the water and not the Sydney Harbour Bridge will get noise from guests and weddings up until 11.59pm each night. For the price of these rooms and the volume of noise it was quite a disappointment. Staff were very helpful and very friendly generally.
Pier One is always my first choice of hotel in Sydney. I have built a great friendship with managers and staff and are always friendly and willing to help should you require anything. The location (just under Harbour Bridge) is great and close to circular quay where many restaurants, bars and shops are located. The Rocks are a short work away and city not too far. Hotel is clean and modern with some history but love the rooms and decor. Restaurants are good and buffet breakfast very nice. A perfect hotel for your trip to Sydney. Bring your wife for a great weekend getaway. Thanks to all the staff.👍😁
Excellent value for money. Service and staff friendly and efficient. Price is excellent value for money in this location. Perfect place to stay in Sydney! Also, lovely place to dine or just catch up at one of their bars.
I stayed in this hotel with my husband during a stay in Sydney. The hotel in one word is stunning. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff could not do enough and were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was clean, contemporary and comfortable with a great view of the bridge! and a bathroom beautiful. The location of the hotel is very central. We ate from the harbour truck and the food was lovely and well cooked and drinks in the bar. On the final day we had breakfast in bed and it was delicious thoroughly recommend.
Pier One is located a short walk from Circular Quay and almost under the Harbour Bridge. We had two short stays here during our time in Australia. We were initially welcomed to the hotel by Brian, who told us about the hotel and the services they offered. All the staff were friendly and welcoming, making our stay very pleasant. On our return, we were greeted by Matt and Sandhya and welcomed back to the hotel. Sandhya asked about our trip and we had a chat about our travels and what we'd seen and done since last in Sydney. We were left a lovely note in our room by her personally afterwards welcoming us back. Rooms were spotless, comfortable and spacious. Lovely location for a stay in Sydney. Thanks.
Its been a while since i stayed here, and it is still as perfect as i remember it. Location is just under the harbour bridge with a beautiful view onto the Luna Park and still only a short walk to the Rocks, Opera House and the city. Staff are very friendly and super efficient. As this is an old warehouse building rooms are are pretty cool but spacious and have everything you need. The glass of sparkling in the evening entering the hotel after a long day at work was a perfect touch! Thanks!
The moment we arrived we were treated to champagne and chocolate strawberries and the most polite well groomed staff we have come across in a long while. Fantastic stay in an historic building with all the modern amenities.
We stayed in the rooftop room facing the bridge. We booked a room 6 months in advance and were not guaranteed a room despite there been availability; was a very difficult process. Nonetheless, was a nice room, albeit hotel could do with some work.
My husband and I finished our Australian holiday with 2 nights in this hotel. The location was excellent for getting a quick feel for Sydney. We walked to the harbor, the Museum of Sydney, the Museum of Contemporary Art, and there are plenty of restaurants in walking distance. We treated ourselves to a suite with a water view and bath tub. The suite was beautiful and comfortable. However, we were on the 1st floor at the end of the hall and our windows overlooked a venue for weddings, etc. The first night of our stay, we were treated to lots of noise from the hotel bar on the balcony. The second night, there was a wedding reception across the way that did not finish until midnight. We used the Dyson fan (thoughtfully provided by the hotel) on the highest setting to drown the noise so we could get some sleep. We dined in the hotel restaurant the first evening. The techno music from the bar was deafening making conversation impossible. I have some food sensitivities and found the menu quite restricted for me: everything had cheese or red meat. I settled on a serving of roasted brussels sprouts. They were so salty I could eat only a few. My husband could not get the attention of a server to have a second glass of wine. All in all, it was a most disappointing meal and a poor value for the money. We needed to leave the hotel by 6:30 am for our flight out of Sydney and were told that taxis were always waiting. To be safe, we called the front desk at 6 am and asked them to call a taxi. By 6:30 there was still no taxi. We finally booked a ride with Uber Black. The driver told us it was a holiday which explained the taxi trouble. If the front desk staff had told us that we would have called for a cab earlier and not departed angry. In closing, I think this hotel is fine if you are a young hipster. For those of us who want a good night's sleep in comfort, whether over 50 or not, try another hotel. If you do decide to try Pier One and want a good night's rest, ask for a room at the opposite end of the hotel from room 137. We plan to visit Sydney again some time but will not be staying at Pier One.
