Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour

This was our second time staying at Novotel and like our previous experience, it was wonderful. Upon arrival at the Novotel, after checking out of another hotel one day early due to poor service, we were greeted warmly by the very helpful staff, who went out of their way to find us a room and to ensure our stay was pleasant. Our room on the 7th floor was very clean, comfortable and spacious with good amenities and luxurious bedding which ensured we had a excellent nights sleep and woke up refreshed. We decided to go to the Ternary restaurant for dinner and the food was sensational, no wonder it was named one of the top restaurants in Sydney. The darling harbour location of the hotel is perfect, very close to restaurants, shops and only a 10 minute stroll away from the city centre. Overall, our stay at the Novotel was a memorable experience that we all thoroughly enjoyed, and we will definitely be returning for future stays in Sydney. Nothing to fault about our stay, in a word, the hotel is perfect.

The room is decent...in that it's big, plenty of room, BIG and decent (tho dated) bathroom. I can get better for the money but it's not bad. What did my head in was that I had to lay on my back on the grubby carpet with my mobile phone as a torch to find a powerpoint to plug in my laptop. Seriously?! And the garlic bread delivered room service is terrible...cold, uncovered, and "raw garlic anyone" ? I stayed here as it was slighly closer to the office location for next 2 days, but think I'll stay at Hyatt Regency (the old Four Points) next time - not much further, but far better value.

Nice room Got upgraded to a beautiful view of darling harbour Bed was very comfortable Staff very polite and helpful Food was great Parking available at a charge (cheaper than parking station) Had a relaxing weekend

Stayed overnight , room was okay, bed comfortable, decor & fittings somewhat tired. Grout in shower quite dirty. Room service breakfast....salt & pepper shakers..both empty...coffee luke warm..omelette luke warm...toast nearly cold & one piece had mould on it !!. Staff in reception and concierge area, very pleasant & helpful. Sat in lounge area near bar for just over an hour after check out...a table full of dirty dishes, glasses etc sat there the entire time...no staff member came near it to clear the dishes. The hotel is well located, walking distance to many shops, restaurants, attractions,& convention centre.

I have just had my first in-restaurant dining experience at the Ternary on the last evening of my stay, and I have to say I am very impressed! The food was of superb quality and equal to any fine dining restaurant that I have experienced anywhere in the world, while still being reasonably priced for the quality of the food. I thank the excellent chef for this. Also, Vivian, who provided genuinely friendly and very efficient table service, as well as helpful suggestions and recommendations, enhanced the whole experience and I recommend her highly to the hotel management for her warmth and outstanding customer service skills. Now I regret that I had not had dinner in the Ternary more often during my stay. But I will be recommending this restaurant to all my Sydney friends who love good food and excellent service. It is not always found in a hotel to such a high standard!

Other than the views and that it's situated in darling harbour, nothing is so exciting about this hotel. Its old, the bath and tiles needs to be replaced as its broken. The corners of the bath has moulds, breakfast is average and the bar closes before 11 pm.

Love this hotel, love the location, love the staff, love the service, love the restaurant. As with my last visit, I received a room upgrade and had a large room with an excellent harbour view. Shortly after my arrival, I was given three complimentary beers, in addition to the two free drinks vouchers I get as a Le Club AccorHotels member. The Ternary restaurant offers excellent breakfasts and the dinner menu provides a varied asian and grill menu. This hotel never disappoints.

The room I had was very nice. Bathroom was massive and looked new. I had room service and the meal was very nice. The little coffee shop they have was also nice. The only problem is it's a bit of a walk to the city. I would stay here again.

Really disappointed with my stay $450.00 per night for a well worn very average room with shabby carpet and a bathroom that needs a lot of money spent on it. This Hotel expects full payment up front and won't just take an imprint of your credit card. I won't be rushing back to stay here, the only positive of the whole stay was the comfortable bed.

When we are in Sydney, we always stay at the Novotel in a harbour view room. The staff are amazing, from arrival to departure everyone offers a smile or assistance if you require it. On arrival we were met by a lovely young man, he was happy and helped us with our car parking. We were checked in by Josh and Laura, great friendly smiles and very very good at their jobs. I had a few questions and they sorted everything out efficiently and nothing was to much. After many visits to the Novotel we received our very first welcome pack! We really appreciated our gift as we were quite thirsty! On checkout Josh was there again and remembered us, he even came over for a quick chat as he was quite busy. Our room was large, bed very comfy, and the cleaning staff were also very friendly alway greeting you. This motel is central, only a short walk from China town, Darling Harbour plus many more wonderful places to visit in Sydney.
