Close to downtown and the bus it was a great place to stay
Good location off a park. Shops & restaurants in the neighborhood. Big room with lovely views.
Newly remodeled. Quiet and comfortable. Close to tourist destinations.
enviroment, staff, serve. and the location to the city is very important . of course , for the line to the airport also be important
We stayed here because we only had one night in Sydney and wanted a hotel that was convenient in location, didn't cost too much and most importantly was clean.
Sydney was the conclusion of a 3 week trip - mostly to New Zealand. We were apprehensive pulling up to the hotel late at night but the rooms and beds were wonderfully comfortable and clean, the staff very helpful, and the little breakfast restaurant behind the main desk very nice. The location was Graeme - about 20 min walk to Harbor Bridge and Opera House. Souls stay again. Internet was great.
This is a great hotel. Not striking from the outside, but great inside with great staff. Accommodations were roomy with a great little kitchen. Location is right in the middle of things. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed here for 8 nights in June 2014. It's not fancy but has most everything one needs. The room was comfortable and clean. They have free internet that was reliable. They don't have an onsite restaurant, but their room service was reasonably priced. There was a buffet-style breakfast in their Green Light Lounge for $13.95. The only negative was the noise - both from the street and adjacent room. For me it was not a significant problem, but it might be for some. The location, near Hyde Park and the Museum train station, is great. It's an easy walk to Darling Harbour and to catch the 555 free bus up and down George Street.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar only one night, prior to flying home. I was just looking for a comfortable hotel in a central location that wasn't too expensive. The Best Western Plus Hotel Stellar was a wonderful surprise. The Queen Studio apartment was quite spacious with a well-equipped kitchenette (microwave, kettle, plates, cups/glasses, coffee/tea) and modern bathroom with a great shower. The bed was VERY comfortable - one of the best anywhere. We wished we had booked an afternoon flight so we could sleep in it longer! The hotel is in a great location - across from Hyde Park. It was a short walk to the shopping and entertainment district where we had dinner and took in a Comedy Festival show. If we are ever back in Sydney, we could easily stay several days at the Best Western Plus Stellar.
I honestly can't think of anything to be improved upon at this hotel. It was a great price for being just off of Hyde Park, crisp clean and quiet, and including a kitchenette and laundry room across the hall. I loved the bed and shower! Iron and hairdryer were provided. Very accommodating staff and an adorable coffee shop downstairs.
This is a dumpy old building. The reception is closed at 7 pm and if you lose key you are stuck. Elevators are old and slow. They insist on checkout at 10 am even if you are a frequent stay member of BstWester. The staff are extremely rude and dont care to provide good service since there is no tipping involved in Australia or New Zealand. In 20 years of traveling, worst stay ever.
overall had a good exprience, The location was perfect close to all the main attraction
The location was excellent. We were able to walk to the harbors, opera house, aquarium, and casino. It's also close to the train and bus stops. We enjoyed the kitchen facility, not having to look for restaurants all the time.
Helpful reception staff greeted me, gave me a map of Sydney, recommended restaurants and places to visit and advised on city transportation. Free internet in the rooms and in the lobby for those who don't have their own devices! Room was clean, comfortable and had a mini kitchen (which I didn't need). Only problem is the street noise and noise from adjoining room doors opening and closing during the night. But the double pane windows did help with the street noise and I turned on the air conditioner to further resolve the problem. But it was not that bad.
Second stay at this hotel. Simply excellent. The staff took the time to save some items we left behind after our first visit.
Just excellent. Laundry facilities on site, very comfortable room.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Stellar. The room was very clean, nicely renovated and a nice surprise from the played down demeanor of the hallway. The double pained windows in the room helped to keep the street noise out. The kitchenette was convenient and allowed us to comfortably eat in when we wanted. The location was convent for us with a short walk to Darling Harbor. We will most likely need to travel to Sydney again and would definitely stay here again.
Great location for tourism, quiet room equivalent to 3 stars Best Western in USA. Nothing offensive and nothing great to report... If they had disclosed anywhere the cost of breakfast or Wi-Fi , then i may have tried it But instead i went half a block away to enjoy them at Marriot, No regret but no outstanding memories ! Proximity to Bus stop( Bondi /Bronte beaches)and Subway was the main attraction to me.OK
Location very good, Nice and clean, Good kitchenette, Bathroom small, but functional, internet was only real complaint . This should be standard; not good wi-fi, and should be free or include in price( would not mind paying couple dollars a day more) Would go back
Our stay at the Hotel Stellar was the last of three hotels that we stayed in during our four city tour of Australia. This by far was the best hotel because of location, size and price. The room we stayed in was newly renovated and featured a king size bed, full size bath and a kitchenette. The room was plenty large featuring vaulted sealing's. If we ever visit Sydney again, we would stay at this hotel and request room number 503! The view from the room was also good, it was centrally located in the city so what we saw were other buildings but we also had a good view of Hyde Park. The Hotel was also around the corner from a bus stop which was handy when we visited Bondi Beach, and around a number of restaurants. If you like Thai you have to try a place called the "Three Chilies". When in Sydney and on a budget but looking for a "perfect" place to stay, try the Hotel Stellar.
