Staff were very helpful and polite. Hotel is dated and rooms are average. We were allocated a room where the bathroom was is a very poor state with a small ceiling trap door that had brown substance leak which looked like it had been there sometime and bathroom in general was not good. However reception changed our room which was better. Location is excellent. Wouldn’t stay there again.

Front desk staff were courteous and helped with storing our luggage until our room was available later in the day. Nostalgic hotel so don’t expect modern decor and fixtures. Best location for sightseeing and getting on/off cruise ship. Several great restaurants, bars, public transportation, and shopping in walking distance. Rooftop pool is fantastic. Highly recommend!

The cleaner for our room left all our dirty towels in a pile on top of the dresser. She also left her dirty rubber gloves on top of our night table, close to my sleep mask and earplugs. It was disgusting. I brought everything down to the front desk and made a complaint, and ask the manager to respond, but I never heard from anyone.

Location is perfect for exploring The Rocks' many activities. Reception was fantastic. Room service was quick and hot. The room itself is in desperate need of a good deep cleaning especially the bathroom ( black dirt (mold)& grime in the caulking around the tub and the sink,stained carpeting and waterdrip marks on the wall behind a picture. Overall would stay again if only for location 7out of 10

What stood out for me was the kindness of the staff. Specificaly , Victoria. ( aka. "Queen" Victoria I named her!) She was so helpful as we checked in and since we arrived early and our room was not available assured us that they would take good care of our luggage while we toured Sydney that day. I was able to chat with her a few more times during our 3 night visit and she was always fun to talk to! The staff was also helpful in changing our room since we preferred not to stay in a room that had an adjoining room. And Duncan was able to help us figure out the airconditioning system. I also want to mention if you are coming in on a cruise this is the place to stay! We were able to walk to the hotel with our luggage! There is a small hill but we had to walk but not to bad for 2 people in their 70's! And the hotel is in an excellent location and you can walk everywhere!! ( Opera House, Botanical Gardens, the ferry, restaurants etc)

Staff was great. Courteous and accommodating. The room was adequate, but outdated. The bathroom sort of smelt like mildew, like they needed to change the shower curtain. The jacuzzi didn’t work, and we had to call the maintenance man. It worked after he came.

Very attentive staff when the room air conditioning wasn't working. They relocated us quickly and efficiently. Great location in The Rocks, especially if you're catching a cruise ship.

This is our second stay here and will stay again next time we visit Sydney. Staff, cleanliness and location is brilliant. My only constructive comment is that the rooms now need to be updated. The one we stayed in, 826, had everything we needed but it just needs a refresh to modernise it. Shower was poor with low pressure. We’d definitely stay there again and the rooftop pool and view is amazing in the heart of the Rocks
