Huge facilities. You have to walk to get food, service, watch nightlife, everywhere. Restaurants are far from each, room service and some restaurants are not included in "ALL INCLUSIVE PLAN". Therefore, be aware of that. The rest was very pleasant. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful, however, their English should be improved.

We had a great experience here! Beautiful hotel, staff, and beach! We would recommend this hotel for everyone!

very nice staff and hotel Platinum club is vaer very pleasant.

I had booked this allinclusive hotel stay from Jan 5, 2018 for 4 nights. Upon arriving at the hotel, the hotel definitely didn't qualify to be of 5 star category or even 4 star category as mentioned on Orbitz vacation packages. Hotel grounds were neat and clean. Staff was friendly. Food was okay. Beach was good.

This is my 3rd time staying at the Grand Riviera Princess resort and I've loved it each and every time. Upon arrival, my guest & I were upgraded to the Platinum Suites due to how full the facilities were - an unexpected and pleasant experience. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel staff in the Platinum Suites clubhouse and a bartender, Celsa, at one of the swim-up pool bars - all very friendly, great service, always with a smile.

Loved the hotel! Amazing staff, great food and clean spacious rooms. Everything was perfect since the moment i checked in. I got a free room upgrade which was very much appreciated, they also worked with the housekeeping team to get the room ready for an earlier check-in. Great food! Trust me i DO NOT say that a lot because i am a very picky eater...Variety, quality, cleanliness and presentation of the buffet was top notch. Staff all throughout the hotel are a true representation of Mexican hospitality that i love so much. Genuinely friendly and eager to help. The only negative thing that comes to mind is the incredibly spotty Wi-Fi connection. It was a bit annoying having to reconnect half a dozen times per day. Also the lack of recycling program in guest rooms and public areas is disturbing. Amount of plastic washed up on the beach should be the alarming reminder for all hotels to adopt and enforce some sort of recycling program. Overall a great experience! Thank you!

I and my wife really like this reasort good beach, good food, everywhere clean. We've been there three times already, and we think we'll be there again.

This is our first time staying at this hotel in Playa Del Carmen and we are very happy with our stay. The Hotel is huge, beautiful, and clean. The service/ staff is excellent. The only thing that needs improvement is the food from all the restaurants including buffet. Otherwise, we are pleased with our stay. Definitely recommend it to others.

Very nice, clean and well organized hotel. Rooms are big and comfortable. Many restaurants too choose from. Easy reservation snd the food was delicious. Beach is a bit of walk but they also have shuttle for those who don’t want to walk. Pools are clean and all around the hotel. You can always find a spot. Big highlight was the ice cream shop! Very nice!

Resort is large and landscaping is very well kept. The room had a musky smell but you get used to it after a couple hours. They had nice activities and shows were great! The food is just mediocre but we don't go to resorts for the food, we were prepared not to eat well and we do not expect American food to be the same in another counry. Most of the staff are helpful and working very hard. Some of them were not so helpful and only wanted the next tip (yes we do tip) but only to the ones who genuinely appreciated it. As for the beach...we did not spend much time there. The water was just OK and had lots of rocks that hurt your feet. We've been to much nicer beaches in the Dominican. Overall, it was a nice resort but nothing to rave about. Definitely not 5 star. The entire resort could use a little more TLC. You will see coaties, iguanas and bats very often on the entire resort. The coaties will be cute at first but when your sitting down trying to eat, they will come right up to you and try to steal your food right off your plate. The staff tries their best to keep them away but it seemed like a losing battle.

Check in was very easy , our room had an amazing view of the main pool which was very nice . The resort is very big but walkable . Would visit again !!

Pool tiles falling apart and cut my toe big toe 2x 1st time significant day before check out went to concierge for assistance in confirming transportation to airport and flight arrangements wouldn't help and told 3 times to come back. Husband has bad heart so was very time consuming because was a 10 minute walk from room. Last time requested manager and he refused to come out. Each time tried to catch trolley throughout stay they said they couldn't take us. Food was cold at all buffets and chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs were under cooked and alcoholic beverages were average. You had to use a room key in a sot to activate lights in room. We had a pool front walkout and day before leaving we were relaxing in our pool. Water guy came to fill our fridge and called security because our safe was open. Husband happened to go in room to get camera while they were there. Security still took our room key. U have to pay $80 to replace key if taken. We were furious because we were there and just right outside our door. We refused to pay for another key and filed a complaint and they gave our key back after 2x of having to walk to front desk for that. Worse stay ever at a resort! Will never go back or to any of there sister resorts. Tried to upload picture of toe but wouldn't upload.

The resort is large. It's about 10-11 minute walk from the hotel lobby to the beach. There is beautiful and well maintained landscaping everywhere. The staff is friendly and helpful. It was rare that we passed a staff member without him or her speaking to us. Our room was clean and comfortable. The mini fridge was restocked everyday and we always had plenty of clean towels. There are many food choices. I didn't like everything I tried, but I found something I liked at every meal. The restaurants that require reservations have better food than the buffets, but none of the food options were bad. We got reservations for all the places we wanted, but we had to take whatever time was still available and there weren't many available. The beach is very nice and there are plenty of umbrella options to stay out of the sun. You can have a fun "party" style vacation or a laid back "relax" style vacation here depending on what parts of the resort you decide to enjoy. Some of the pool areas are upbeat and loud. Some are quiet and relaxing. Some are centered around kids. With the available options, I could recommend the resort for everyone.

Beutiful hotel and the staff very nice...,,,.........

We really liked this resort. It had so many things to do and see. The food was very good. The staff was hit and miss but generally very nice and helpful. Biggest complaint is the racket around getting change. we have never had an issue pulling out pesos or changing dollars at other resorts, we like to tip and show our appreciation to the staff but here you can not pull out pesos only dollars. The ATM charged crazy fees like a casino and then the front desk fights you on changing it to pesos. They are the only place to do it officially. The bell hops sometimes will but impose a "fee" for giving change. It was evident there is some policy around this as we had some employees help us but where hesitant if others where around. Just come perpared with your own change.

The check in was very slow but we received a good service. Instalations are beautiful. I only recommend to have more shuttles inside the hotel, because sometimes you have to wait half hour to get to the lobby or to your room. Also from 4 to 7 Pm there is no place to eat. But in general se had a great time.

This hotel is a very nice hotel. The service is good. The rooms were clean and spacious. I have a family of 5. Like in all hotels you will have those workers that are not pleasant at all but overall the workers were nice. Depending on where you stay, the beach can be far. They do have a shuttle service a long the hotel but if you expect beach front property this is not the hotel for you. There are pools all over the property and the pools were clean. One problem I had was booking the meals at the restaurants. They say you need at least 2 days before to book at one of their 7 restaurants. So if you arrive on a Monday, you will probably not get anything until Wednesday. This does not seem right considering you are paying for all inclusive. Plus the hours we got once we got in were all over the place (from 6 pm to 9:30 pm). Luckily the Buffet Restaurant where you do not need reservations is excellent and in 7 days stay we only ate at the restaurant twice and the rest were at the buffet. They could also have done a better job at telling you what the hotel offers at check in. We had no clue at all the activities available. We had to find them on our own. On the last day, my son found out they had archery available. With the plus and minus I would stay again now that I am better prepared.

Excelent hotel with great location, food and staff. Many pools to visit.

Really loved our stay here. The shows or evening entertainment was great too.

At first room was dirty but the worst was the food! Terrible quality!! At least they upgraded us to Platinum.
