There was a leak in our room. We were on the 1st floor when I told the staff they tried to blame it on the rain which of course was impossible being on the bottom of 3 other floors. The food was horrible, food was cold and there were flies over the food. We were treated less than by the staff catering favorable to the European guests. We also found a scorpion in our room and the too smelled excessive moisture.
This is a great place to stay if ypu are interested in animals. The gardens are also beautiful.
Mariana was amazing!! She assisted us throughout our stay. Thank you!
Nice vacation spot and the food is great.
I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Don’t waste your money and time going there. The place is understaffed, some of the employees are rude and they don’t provide help to the customers. The hotel is dirty and old. Don’t even try to use the gym, is a filthy mess! When I complained about it, the answer they provided was people don’t go there to use the gym, they go for vacation! I have pictures and videos of the horrible conditions of this hotel. The gave us such a hard time when tried to do early checkout. I had both of my elder parents with me and they didn’t care about it. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes for them to complete my check-out. There’s no AC at the lobby and they kept us waiting there for so long without providing the reason of our waiting. Once again, DON’T GO there if you are looking for a good place to spend your vacation time.
Our family of 12 adults and one child stayed for 1 week. My wife and I stayed an additional week after that. Overall, our experience was very good; lots of food, drinks, family appropriate activities, and sun. While we encountered a couple of staff members that were less than pleasant, the vast majority were friendly, greeting us when they passed by or asking if there was anything they could do to make our stay better. We did 3 visits to the Spa. Marco was the desk person that was super helpful. We had 7 people wanting to do massages and pedicures at the same time and he made that happen. The Spa was very nice though there were tiles missing from several pools and water treatment areas which detracted from the ambiance of luxury. My wife and I did the hydro-therapy and a couples massage. Both were very nice and we left relaxed (and smelling pretty nice). The major downside was the shuttle driver, Gustavo, who dropped us off short of our requested destinations (the lobby one time and our room building the second time). Each time, he bruskly said, "you walk the rest of the way". There is a small cafe next to the spa had better food than the buffets but the staff completely ignored us each visit. The lazy river was the primary reason we selected this resort as it purported to be the longest lazy river. It was very long. Another nice feature was that there were no waterfalls or jets dousing you with water so we could relax. Kudos to Marta our housekeeper for 2 weeks.
The property overall was clean although needed upkeep. Enjoyed the wildlife and beach area. The spa hydrotherapy was surprisingly pleasing. The healthy bar was my fave! Everything around the property is far especially the restaurants and buffet. The themed restaurants offered had limited availability for reservations. For a family group of 13 including 2 infants concierge was only able to find late evening spots very inconvenient with families with small children. The food overall was mediocre - lacked flavor and variety. There is a distinct difference of service and offerings between their socios/members vs non members. The service was not up to par compared to other resorts I’ve stayed in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Playa Mujeres in Cancun. They did not explain in detail all of the offerings and services available and the need to book restaurants immediately with concierge upon our arrival. Our bedroom sheets were evidently dirty and used the excuse of them having old rusted washing machines and dryers. The iron in the bedroom was not working called housekeeping to replace, did not receive until 2 days later. The attention to their guests lacks and friendliness of staff as well. There was no AC in common areas even in restaurants. It was completely unbearable to eat or try to enjoy your evenings. Let’s not forget about the mosquitoes in the bedrooms. Had I known more in detail on what to actually expect at this resort from reviews I probably would not have booked.
We absolutely loved this resort. Great location, food, and the people were amazing. We both thought that they did a fantastic job for families. Our favorite activity was the silent disco.. so much fun. I believe that this resort would be a great choice for anyone wanting a great all inclusive that doesn’t break the bank. This is an incredible spot, with lots of options, at a great price. I hope you read all reviews.. I did. I was so happy with our stay, that I have to believe the negative reviews were from unhappy people. This resort was great! We will return. Incredible pools, lazy river, snorkeling cove.. incredible restaurants.. just the best!
This was a nice property, i liked the size as it let us walk wherever we wanted to go, which is good because the shuttle is virtually non existent if you aren't part of the resort club. We really liked all the water features, pools were great and beach was nice. Beware the coaties though, they are very brazen and we had to hang out stuff on trees to keep it safe. Property is beautiful, very enjoyable to walk around. Rooms are comfortable and clean. They really only make the bed and swap towels during the daily service. Our AC worked well, but others in our group were not as happy. Nicole and Aureliana at the pool were fantastic, very attentive. Paulino at lobby 2 bar as well. Make sure you book your theme restaurants IMMEDIATELY after check in or you will be eating at 8 or 9 pm and they will be closing up around you as you finish. Things i didn't like: good luck getting anything from concierge or front desk. We tried to set up our luggage pick up for departure and Pablo said we were all set, luckily i checked with the bell boy the day before at dinner because we were not on their schedule. My sister had some glass break in her room and the pool towels got glass in them, she called to ask someone to get them 3x and nothing. Ended up carrying towels full of broken glass back to the lobby to get towel cards. There is very little ac space on the property, which was ok for us as we spent most of our time at the pool. Te dining rooms were a very warm
Our stay at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort and Spa was very fun. We checked in and headed straight to the pool. The room was great with a really nice view on the 3rd floor. We could see the jungle all around. With the jungle came lots of wildlife, lemurs, iguanas, and monkeys. The baby lemurs were the kids' favorites. There was a beach to play in the sand and snorkel. Even though it was really shallow there were a lot of fish there. We went to the pools often and loved the swim-up bars. Kids loved the non-alcoholic drinks. My son and I went to the airsoft and archery. The kids’ favorite excursion was the dolphin interaction. The restaurants were really good. I suggest making reservations early in order to get in. If you don’t get reservations, there are several buffets that had a vast variety of food, Vegan included. The staff tried so hard to help us have the best experience ever! Isaac was super helpful in booking reservations to the restaurants. Carlos, at the French restaurant, was outstanding with the explanations and attentiveness. Edgar, the manager, was very helpful whenever we needed anything. He checked in on us periodically over the course of the trip to make sure that we were good. I would definitely recommend this resort to others. Book in advance and enjoy all the many exceptional amenities and staff. When you go, make sure you say " Hi" to Edgar when you see him. We will be returning next summer. See you there!
The grounds are very beautiful. All the pools close at 7:00pm. They don't have any A/C in common areas like the buffet, restaurants and restrooms which is a little uncomfortable. The food was mediocre at most of the restaurants (tried the buffets, BBQ, Mexican, Italian, Mediterranean). The buffet is the only option for breakfast and then you have the buffet and BBQ shack available for lunch. They only stock your fridge with a maximum of 2 beers (sol) a day. All the staff were polite and helpful. Most of the Bar tenders were great especially Miguel at lobby bar. Overall I enjoyed the trip with my family.
Some staff where not really helpful and they look they didn't wanted be there. Also transportation was limited around the property and food needs an improvement.
The nature and the beach were beautiful.
As a family of 4, with two young boys ages 4 and 8 and two working full time parents we wanted to get away from the everyday routine and after lots of rearching for a great family hotel we desired to try this one!!! From all the BAD experiences they get a 5. The staff needs LOTS LOTS OF TRAINING ! Customer service training to be specific !! WE ARE ALL THE SAME!!! As an English speaking FAMILY with Latin American Heritage! let’s just say I speak Spanish and everyone in my family does and my kids are bilingual and we still got treated differently as the rest the other families !!! If I spoke to them In Spanish I will get a bad to say the least attitude if I Spoke to them in English they will change their attitude !! The SHUTTLES were never AVAILABLE for us to use ! We had to have the VIP status bracelet to use them! Even when it poured rain with two young boys we still had to walk by and almost fall into the ground many times trying to get to our room (late night) because the SHUTTLES WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO US AND ONLY AVAILABLE TO THE VIP !!! They even told my husband that the shuttles did not have battery in the pouring rain and all they did was wait for the VIP at their destination!! EVEN IF YIU CALL You get NADA! But on another note the BEST BARTENDER WAS SEBASTIAN at the MAZCAL BAR!! He went out his way to makes us feel welcome on our last night after all the BAD EXPERIENCES WE HAD!! He made me feel comfortable and made me a SUPER DRINK !
Nice place for nature relaxing..wish they had ceiling fan in the main lobby or air conditioner for guess to hang out there, its too muddy, sticky and mosquitos had many bites and bump all over the body. They should have more extras mosquitos repel .The shopping area was pricey. The excursion was fun but was also to pricey for short time..
