The room was always spotless, which we appreciated, but the mosquito problem was quite bothersome. The staff, with the exception of Sandra at the buffet, often seemed disengaged and unfriendly. The waiters at the Mexican restaurant and Olivia were particularly dismissive, which made us feel unwelcome. Though this didn’t spoil our vacation, a warmer attitude from staff would improve the experience.
The food was underwhelming. The breakfast buffet felt repetitive, and lunch and dinner options there were even less appealing. The restaurants served average dishes, but the service was quick, which we appreciated. It was surprising that food couldn’t be ordered poolside—a first for us at any resort. Lunch at the grill seemed dry, and many guests didn’t finish their meals. The beachside spot offered only burgers, fries, and hot dogs, which were unappetizing.
Facilities also fell short. The elevators were often dirty, making us hesitant to touch buttons. Roof leaks during rain created hazards.
On a positive note, each room had a handy cubby for room service items. The second pool was quiet and relaxing, though only two pools are available for non-Serenity guests. A staff member cleaned sunglasses at the main pool, a lovely touch we wished extended to the quieter pool. The café’s offerings, especially the ice cream, were consistently enjoyable.
Overall, while some amenities were nice, improvements in staff friendliness, food quality, and maintenance would enhance the stay.
