Iberostar Cozumel All Inclusive

I have stayed at other Iberostar resorts on two other occasions and had great experiences. Previously I stayed at the Iberostars in Playa del Carmen. I decided to try out the Iberostar Cozumel location and I was sorely disappointed. The rooms were so damp that my clothing hanging in the closet became damp and musty smelling. The grounds were a mess. Paint needed everywhere, landscaping needed everywhere. The little pond where the flamingos hang out is filthy. Customer service was horrendous. Staff didn't pick up dirty plates from the pool area for hours and hours. Front desk was terrible. Check in took over one hour. Then we had an issue with our reservation and front desk insisted I call Iberostar in Miami to resolve. I stayed on hold for 45 minutes before they picked up and dealt with the issue. I asked Iberostar Cozumel why I had to be the liaison between Iberostar Miami and Iberostar Cozumel. Why couldnt she sit on hold for 45 minutes and deal with it. She said "we are not the same company" I said really? Iberostar is Iberostar and I should not have to do your job. Later that night, I saw a woman who was clearly black out intoxicated. She couldn't figure out how to leave the restaurant. The staff brought her to the exit and sent her alone out into the night. Why didn't two staff members escort her to her room or call for help? My two prior positive experiences with Iberostar have been destroyed by this awful experience in Cozumel. DO NOT GO HERE

Great resort with a great experience. Close to the beach with access to great diving services. I have stayed here twice and would not stay anywhere else in Cozumel. The staff is always great and friendly.

I travel to Cozumel to scuba dive and I recently returned from my third trip to the Iberostar resort! I chose this resort over the others because I like the design of the resort, the proximity to the dive sites in the Cozumel marine park, and the on-site Dressel Divers dive shop. Iberostar is remodeling the rooms in this resort and I was given one of the newly remodeled rooms! The wifi in my room ran at a speedy 64Mbps. While I'm scuba diving, I need easy access to great tasting food and I can always find great menu choices in the buffet restaurant! After a day of diving, I enjoy unwinding at the bar and the bartender named Isidro made me great mixed drinks! The best part about scuba diving are the random encounters with marine life! On this trip a large green moray eel swam through my group of divers at the Jurassic Park dive site, so I put my underwater camera in video mode and followed the eel! The eel would enter small openings in the reef that I couldn't enter, but it would reappear a short time later and it was apparent that it was looking for something to eat! Then I witnessed something that I've never seen before in over 500 dives! The eel found a large lobster and started fighting with the lobster! I was happy to see the lobster fight-off this much larger predator and I caught it all on video!

over all the experience was fine. I was very disappointed in the meals.

Awesome hotel with friendly staff! We enjoyed our stay very much!

We had a good vacation overall however after visiting other resorts this one was our least favorite - Cons- Toilet - couldn't flush tp (?) our toilet was clogged daily Reservations to dinner- you had to make reservations for dinner (the good food) and you only get 2!?!? While at dinner there were 5 tables eating so this made no sense. Shuttle to airport or town/excursion - no shuttles to and from airport, or excursions or to town. A resort should at least give you options Night life - I'm not one to party hard but this place overall shuts down at 7pm. No shows/ music, nightlife nothing! Pool closes 7pm Rocky beach- bring beach shoes I repeat !!! The beach is so rocky that it's hard to access even with shoes. Service- no beach pool service- we had to get our own drinks each time. Again compared to other resorts just not use to this No tv stations English- not that we're in our rooms often but I enjoy watching that night. Especially since we had to go back to the room after dinner. No stations In English Rooms small and often had bugs Restaurant and common areas not ac- super hot eating dinner and relaxing. Says free kayaks paddle boards (none here) and snorkel equip. You actually have to pay a fee Had to purchase sunscreen. It's a racket. 24$ for sunscreen. Come on Towels. You can't use poool towels unless u give them your room key. Guess they don't trust guests

Had a wonderful time during our stay. The staff was amazing and the food was excellent for all inclusive. We will definitely be back.

My stay was wonderful however they bed wasn't great & the room was full of ants we repeatly ask could someone come out to spray!! we ended up using all our deep wood mosquito spray to debug the room Yes yes yes I would stay again & bring my friends.

We love this resort. Plenty of activities, and the access to scuba is phenomenal. We came with our five-year-old son, and he spent more time in the pools than on land.

False advertising pertaining to kids club and entertainment. Kids club wasn't open for the advertised hours, and activities were boring. Suggestive night entertainer was also kids club worker. Food is not good. Only one restaurant at dinner has a/c, so you just pour sweat everywhere you go. Yes I know it's Mexico but at this price point you expect some buildings with ac to get a cool off break. We had something biting us at night and had to move rooms which resolved the issue. Good part is snorkeling off the pier and ease of getting on dive boats right at the hotel.

Room humidity was high no matter how low the temp was set and everything in it, including our hanging clothes, smelled musty, even after washing back home. Serious problem. Front desk info was contradictory on check-in time and guests who arrived well after us were placed in rooms ahead of us while we wait patiently in the lobby. More attention needs to be given to removing obnoxiously drunk guests from the pool area.

Comfortable beds, nice/clean room. Staff was great. There was a huge assortment of food but after a couple days, it all seems to taste the same. Take advantage of the restaurant reservations, good food there.

I have been to many all inclusives and i never go to the same area twice and esp never the same resort. For what I paid and what I received in return I plan on returning w my entire immediate family to this resort. 6nights for a lil over $1000. I've stayed at Sandals Antigua for more than double the cost and the food here was comparable. Very good food and the drinks were of good quality and did the trick. The staff was awesome and the grounds were great w a Ton of wildlife. The shows at night were incredible. Again considering I was going on a last min vaca not looking to spend a lot I got a lot more than I thought I would for my money. The rooms were small but I wasn't in mine long and the beds were comfortable and the Ac worked great. This wasn't a Partying resort and if you want Night life after the shows are done you will have to go into town which is a short cab ride away. Overall the food was excellent by any standard I heard to stay away from the fish and I did and had no issues. The staff, shows, and town 20min away were great by any standard. The drinks were more than adequate. The grounds and rooms weren't anything special but fine and the friendly wildlife all over the resort more than made up for that. I plan on returning w my entire family to surprise them mom, dad, etc. knowing the food - drinks -staff - and Value will be Spot On for them.

The room was clean, the room was comfortable. The property was nice, guest services were good as well. When we arrived at our room there wasn't any chairs on the porch, the refrigerator wasn't working and it was difficult to find our way around, the maps were small and hard to read.

Very relaxing all-inclusive resort with great accommodations, friendly staff. expansive beach with plenty of chairs and umbrellas, and excellent (shallow water) snorkeling. Highly recommend!

The place just needs a lot of work. Lots of bug issues, and the food which is good the first day, is always the same and you end out going out for meals. Rent a car. Place has been rode hard and put away wet. Stay somewhere else

Second time staying at this resort and 3rd time in Cozumel. Great location, low-key, and away from most of the spring break parties. Rooms and facility haven't changed since we were there in 2011, - thats why we came back. Resort is clean and the staff is very friendly. If you ask for something, they will do their best.

I've stayed in several resorts in Cozumel but this was my first at Iberostar. This resort was like a combo of all the things I loved from other resorts. It had everything we needed including a reputable dive shop on site. The food was great, maybe not 5 star restaurants but so many options. Late night food options. I'm usually not a "shows" type of person either but WOW! They were so good. Drinks did not disappoint. Got whatever we asked for, plus drinks we didn't! The resort grounds were well kept and absolutely beautiful! A lot of people complain about air conditioning. Ours was fine. Kept us cool. People forget the humidity in the Caribbean is what it is. They can't control the weather, but they do provide umbrellas if it rains. I can't wait to go back. Taking my parents next time.

We had a good time at Ibero. Overall the resort is good. Standard rooms are small tough, especially if you are planning to stay with kids. The room hardly fits 2 full size beds, closet consist of 4 tiny shelves and 8 hangers and is very spacious, almost no room for suitcases. Bathroom was also small but did the work. Rooms were clean, food was ok but not a lot of choice. I think for the price we paid we should have received a better variety/quality of food. Staff was very nice and friendly, the shows at night too.

This hotel definitely grew on me I'm not a fan of all inclusive hotels but I was pleasantly pleased The food was good with plenty of choices The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, which is something I don't usually experience in Mexico. The rooms were a little dated The close proximity to Dressel divers was a plus !

my favorite resort in cozumel has awesome diving!

Scuba Divers
My room was on the second floor of this building. The resort grounds. Moray eel fights with a lobster! Queen Angelfish
