Overall a great place for adults and family vacations there is something for everyone. The beach is spectacular, well kept, clean and snorkeling which we love. We will definitely visit again!

We had a great time at the barcelo, lots of things to do for the kids as well as adults. The only thing I would point it out is The hotel staff to do something about the pool chairs. So many chairs had towels on them but no one occupying those chairs. which made us head to the beach instead of staying by the pool.

The only thing I did not like was the fact that out of all the all-inclusive hotels ive stayed at, this was the only hotel that did not provide a shuttle transportation to and from the hotel and to pay alot of money for it.

Food was the same everyday. No pool parties it was a quiet all inclusive hotel. The pool was so hot feels like you’re swimming in a hot spring pool.

Overall a good experience for a family friendly property. What I liked the amenities are very nice the pools are big with a lot of things to do and they have a big jacuzzi. The specialized thematic restaurants have very good cuisine and they are very beautiful with nice views. The animation team and the overall activities are nice. The mall is big and everything is walkable. The pool bar service was amazing with lots and lots of options.Things I didn't liked, the mattress was terrible I reported it and they changed it and after that was ok. The rooms look too normal for the Maya Palace level nothing exceptional apart that the design looks old and a little bit outdated in comparison with other hotels nearby. Regarding the expedia VIP status they missed the whole part wich was a little bit disappointing to be honest. I also have the feeling that the main buffet options are quite bad, the food is either too greassy or there are simply not many options it doesn't matter if it's breakfast or dinner the options are way too limited and unappealing. Overall I had a great time with the family and the kids but I see too many areas of improvement here.

We asked for a up grade they said no because they were full but it low season and staff kept telling us that they were very low on guest and it was noticeable VIP needs to be better or at least follow through because it was not busy season
