We stayed there 6 nights. The service was impeccable. While not guaranteed, we got a room with double beds. The ocean view was great. Service staff throughout the resprt was exceptional. Food quality was OK for an all inclusive of this size. Much respect for trying to change things up each day. The only issue as always with the loudest minority of guests, not the resort. Drunk and wasteful, booking chairs along pools 6 hours ahead of showing up. Resort staff was very dedicated to the confort and enjoyment of all.

The food wasn’t good.

This property is a good average hotel. It is extremely clean and fairly new. It was busy in restaurants and buffet but the service was decent at most restaurants. You cannot make reservations at any restaurant so that was a little annoying. Some of the staff were not helpful inside buffet as far as asking for what foods were as the signage was not always accurate. The ground wee immaculate and service at pool and beach were great! We particularly loved Diaz at the adult pool. There is a pleather park for kids so lots of families. I have stayed at Unico 20 87 which is adults only and just a completely different feel, look, and service. So if you are okay with crowds, families, and mediocre food this place is great!

We had a great time until day 6. On day six we got a new cleaning person that did not clean our room good at all. They did not take out the dirty towels, clean the toilet, or restock the fridge or coffee bar. On the same day a credit card came up missing out of my wife’s wallet that was in the room and we got a fraud alert of somebody trying to use it off the property. We addressed it with the hotel staff and they opened a claim. The next day there was a hotel worker that was peeking in our peep hole and entered the room without knocking. My family saw him and made a noise which caused him to turn around, and when he saw my family, he ran off. He did not have a rag in his hand, cleaning supplies or housekeeping cart. While we were still at the property, I met with an assistant manager who took the incident very serious until we left the property. However, after we checked out, we could not get communication in regards to the progress of the claim very easily. I had to email them twice asking About the claim. Days later, they finally replied, saying that they were very sorry, but there was no evidence that their employees took the card and that what the other employee was doing was normal protocol. I don’t believe that. The timing of these two incidents is was a coincidence. This was a great resort in a lot of ways, but this made me feel very unsafe, which is my number one priority when taking my family to Cancun.

My family went from the 2nd to the 6th. Hotel staff was amazing, hotel clean, pools and beach were beautiful and clean. They had entertainment for every group. Some of it I found personally not to be my style/ questionable but for the most part it was pretty fun for a group that has children. My children are 7 and they got to go to the bartenders and order their own drinks and the bartenders were very friendly to my children. Food could be a little better but overall everyone will find at least something they like. I personally would go again with my kids in the future. Only downfall is that we bought a package to go to this island and felt it was a jip off because we couldn’t do half of what they said we could do. But that wasn’t on the hotel although they were in the hotel entertainment section. So just be careful what packages you buy if any at all. It would be nice if the hotel offered transportation to the airport as well.

We had a great time at Riu Dunamar. The place is well mantained, the staff is very nice and the beach is wonderfull! An special shout-out to the entretainement crew!

Beach and pools excellent

Staff was amazing and property was kept very clean. Some things we disliked: •Pools are quite small which may be the reason why they are so hot. Yes, September is a hot month, but I’ve been to pools in even hotter temps and never experienced such hot water. Yes, HOT, not warm. A few more degrees and that could have easily been a hot tub. •Double bed rooms do NOT accommodate 4 people. These are not queen, they are full size. Very comfortable for one person to sleep there but not two. •Unless you pay for a better view, you may be stuck with the crappiest of views. A view, that in my opinion should not be an option, even for the most standard/basic room. Our view was to a concrete roof. •Food was very very bad. We didn’t try any a la carte restaurants for personal reasons, but even then their menu must have had 10 items total at the most (including appetizers, main & desserts) I keep my expectations very low with buffets, because well.. they’re buffets, and this one was still very bad for my already low standards. •No room service. This one I can’t necessarily keep against them because we knew about it and still decided to book. Room service may not be a necessity for some, but due to personal reason, can be very beneficial for us. Again, we knew this before hand. •Beach was ok, the bed area feels very crowded. Good things about the resort: •the water park, the staff and the entertainment Overall, we are NOT planning to book here again

Some of it I found personally not to be my style/ questionable but for the most part it was pretty fun for a group that has children.
