Property was beautiful in its own way, but I’ve been to Cancun 6 times and this place structure does not offer what other hotels offer. For 1 pools closed at 8 pm, entertainment during the day close to none or boring and the big entertainment is 1 hour only at 9 pm in like an indoor auditorium. It wasn’t even interactive. It’s nice for an older crowd/ retired looking for slow pace. But not for kids/family young adults. Other hotels offer way more for the same price if not less. Food was horrible !!! Salty and undercooked or cold buffet little options. If going for a weekend you won’t get restaurants because it’s book online and they let ppl book 3 days in advance we couldn’t get good reservations. The one thing I did like was room service we went to Xcaret and got picked up at 6:30 am we asked for room service for 6 am breakfast they arrived but food was cold. Beach sand pretty clean, beach was beautiful. Overall if you like slow pace come here if you like entertainment and good food go somewhere else !

Items that were hanging on my luggage went missing and was never returned. There was no follow up. The drinks were not good; had a nasty after taste like the lime mix used for the margaritas was sour. Room service food menu was limited and not good. We asked for extra cloths and towels frequently and it wasn’t granted the first two days of the stay. The best bet was the snack trucks near the pool and the buffet. Beautiful grounds however, the beach was full of dry seaweed.

Beautiful hotel with good infrastructure for adults and kids. Drinks were very average, made with low quality alcohol and tons of soda to save on other ingredients. Food was very fresh and delicious. Amazing ceviche on the Peruvian station and the buffet was breathtaking. Looooots of options! Not a lot going on at night, if you are looking for shows etc. Staffing in general was very gentle. Their service was not great although. Staff don’t have good internal communication and if you have any extra needs from customer service, be prepared to get stressed. Other than that, great place for the price.

The property is beautiful. Well suited for families without being your typical massive kids resort. I liked that it was walkable with lots of food options. The different vibes at the pools is great because depending on your mood you may want something more upbeat or more chill. One pool hosts the activities and has loud music during the day whereas the other pool is a more relax vibe with no activities. The strip in the centre of the resort is lively and great for the kids at nighy. There is a DJ at night and a different kids activity (face painting etc). The lobby bar has great vibes and service and nice place for adults to grab a drink. Think was our second visit and I wouldn’t hesitate going back a third time.

CHARGES. Please read this review if you are booking a room for adults plus children. Travelocity's quoted price does NOT align with what the hotel will charge you! Upon check in, we were told that Travelociy's quoted price only included the cost for two adults, so the price nearly DOUBLED at the time of check in (from 2,728 to 4,910) There was no disclosure of this anywhere. We spent the first 3 hours of vacation wrangling with Travelocity and the hotel staff. We ended up paying for the hotel's price (so our kids could eat and sleep). ROOMS. Hopefully they gave us the worst room in the place (Room 1113 BTW-demand a different one!) It overlooks the kids pool and the music from the club next door thumped until 11:30. Fortunately, they honored our request for a different room at no extra charge. Room #2 was quite nice - ocean views, clean, great shower/bathroom area and some extra spaces that added a lot. NOISE. It was loud the entire time! Always music playing. POOL. So loud! You'll end up without a chair if you don't claim one early in the morning. FOOD. V good, but reservations a pain. CROWDED. This hotel tries to serve too many people at one time. They may be doing their best, but no hotel could keep up with the numbers. BEACH. The beach area was our saving grace. It was beautiful and lots of shaded places to sit. STAFF. Most were okay, some were rude, all seemed unhappy. Catalonia needs to focus on their customers and less on the fancy decor/buildings. Will not return.

Overall the facility was a nice. But what lacked was the customer service. I’m not sure where to start but, our rooms were not ready at 3pm, we were told to wait 20 minutes until they were cleaned. Our rooms were never cleaned upon arrival, and not the promised rooms were delivered. We were treated differently than other guests, simple requests were often ignored such as towels for our room.

Beautiful! Resort was clean and the food was amazing! Most all-inclusive resorts sacrifice the quality of their food for the aesthetic, but not the Catalonia. Staffing was so friendly and accommodating!! Would definetly recommend!!!

Your typical all inclusive, i wish the entertainment was more diverse. Spanish music everywhere all day long. After day one i was bored and ready to go. Not much to do, just hang out by the pool all day long or go to the beach. However, the staff was friendly and super kind, facilities were clean and food was ok.
