We booked Garza Blanca Resort through Expedia. On Feb 22, after dining at the resort, both of us suffered severe food poisoning (vomiting and diarrhea) and were confined to our room for most of the trip. I was even unconscious, and my partner had swollen lips. This ruined our anniversary trip. We request your assistance with a refund or travel credit.

The resort is beautiful. The rooms are very spacious, extremely clean, and the balconies are wonderful. The staff is amazing — especially the pool servers, who were all so helpful and sweet. Room service is available late into the night, and housekeeping comes daily, which was fantastic. It’s also very easy to reach the front desk whenever needed. The only frustrating part of our stay was the pressure upon arrival to attend a sales tour the following morning (8:00–9:30 AM) to become a member. I politely declined, but the representative was very persistent. I even received a call at 7:30 AM the next day telling me I had to attend. After I informed the front desk I would not be coming, the representative approached me again at breakfast saying she would get in trouble if I didn’t go, which I found quite uncomfortable. Once I firmly declined at the front desk again, the issue was resolved. As for the all-inclusive food, it was good but not exceptional. We especially enjoyed lunch by the pool — very convenient. My son absolutely loved the kayaks and the ocean floaties, which was a highlight of the trip. Overall, we had a great stay. Everything was very clean and well maintained. One tip for future guests: when tipping the staff, it’s best to use cash. Although the receipt may show a $0 total, suggested tips on the bill can go up to $40.

Food to 2+ hours to have a meal at any resturant on the property. The hotel transportation (extra charge) is a scam. An uber will cost you half the price. We booked via the hotel and our transportation didn't show up to take us to the airport. They refused to refund us and we had to pay for an uber. The staff is awkward and tries to make too much conversation in hopes of tips.

Loved our time there and we will most likely come again! Pros: rooms were so clean and luxurious, the spa was amazing, food was really good and they were very accommodating with my sons allergy, staff was great Cons: I just wish there was something else for kids to do such as a playground or a small water park or slide. I was annoyed that the carousel rides cost extra when there wasn't a ton for kids to do. I also didn't like being hastled to do the time share breakfast when I just wanted to set up an excursion without that.
