Being we purchased the upgraded Excellence Club, it did not feel that way when we arrived. It felt like they wanted us to get a drink, download their app, & send us to our room. No explanation on which restaurants you needed reservations, popular activities or amenities, location of places in the resort, where to book excursions, or water activities we had access to. Excellence Club was not worth the upgrade. Only difference was being able to eat at the Magna restaurant. Which if your party is bigger than 4 people and you do not get there at 6pm when they open, you will be waiting over an hour for a table. I watched as people who arrived after us, were sat before us. This wasn’t the only restaurant that followed this policy, they prioritized groups of 2 & 4 over larger parties. The Excellence Club private pools were secluded from the beach and I wasn’t impressed. There were usually no one at these pools. The service from the staff was good. The food at restaurants was ok. There are limited quick lunch options. You have to order your lunch food with your pool/beach waiter/waitress and they would let you know it’s going to take a while to get your food. At times when I had a request, it felt like they were overwhelmed and I would have to follow up each day to see if it was taken care of. Overall I was not impressed with all the hype this resort gets, it felt like the typical all inclusive resort.

We stayed for 11 days at Excellence. Hotel is amazing and staff is nice and wonderful. Shout out to Mario at excellence club at beach. Waiter Floricel, Fernanda by the pool. Jacqueline for taking care of our restaurants needs. The Lobster house and Spice staff, food was amazing. Didn’t do the spa this time around to costly and over priced. Average price for couple spa should be under 300.00 dollars. Over all this is a great resort.

The service at this place by we housekeeping, bartenders, waiters, waitresses was TOP NOTCH. The relaxation at this place is unmatched. Beautiful Quiet beach ! Rooms are older BUT amazing ! Only thing is that we spent extra for VIP service and it wasn’t worth it. Nothing was extra special or different about the package in my opinion. i also wish that the VIP attendant we were assigned to was more imformative about things. We found out all the ins and outs from other visitors that we met

They had restaurants you had to be exclusive to enter … waiting at dinner to enter some places …. Not being able to make reservations to there habatchi house … pool could be skimmed out once in a while … missed couple days of restocking fridge … but they did clean room very well

Wonderful property !! The only complaint is the mattress is hard as a rock. I thought it was just our room but other couples we met said the same. Please get some pillow top mattresses the cabanas felt more comfortable. Food was great and resort was clean. Staff was amazing and always so helpful and attentive!!

The resort was very secluded. Don’t go in the summer because the AC doesn’t work properly and the mosquitoes eat you alive. Every restaurant was so hot. I couldn’t enjoy my meals. Didn’t have enough floats for the floating pool.

Overall a nice resort, just not a favorite. Older resort, small and choppy layout, and so much vegetation you couldn’t get the breeze unless sitting up front. Small main pool. Dinners were excellent but buffet and breakfast/lunch foods were average.

My husband was instantly bitten by barracuda first step in ocean. Bleeding and passing out. Was not assisted, hotel owned 1 wheel chair. did not help with situation. Would not let him sit in chair while passing out because not VIP. could not use wash vloth as tourniquet because they would not let me use the one in my hand. ridiculous service, cheap drinks.

The rooms are in dire need of maintenance. I was surprised to see a Google rating of 4.9 to be honest. I expected more from such a property. Wouldn’t be coming back for the price that they are quoting!
