The Olive Garden of hotels. It's not bad, but would you pay $1000 to eat at the Olive Garden? Front desk staff are truly terrible. Same for the concierge. Requests were met with indifference and frustration. The rest of the staff was either terrible or amazing. Nothing in between. Food was mediocre at best, with the exception of the new restaurant Gaia. It was 5 star.
My overwhelming problem with the property is that it's difficult to avoid cranky small children. There are adult and quiet pools, which helps but at some of the restaurants, it's a real problem. At 8PM, two adults should not have to eat dinner next to a table with "restless" children with parents unable or unwilling to recognize their children's behavior is inappropriate.
It was clean and quiet. Staff was super friendly and helpful. It was a relaxing week.
The staff was very attentive and the all inclusive was exceptional with very tasty food. The only bad comment would be the beach will all the seaweed but the Fairmont is doing all in their control to help clean it all up.
The best things about the property was the tropical foliage. The property is beautiful. The restaurants are amazing. We enjoyed our lunch at la brasa. The best was the avocado toast and the pineapple tart. The best I have ever had!! I thought waiting for the golf carts was troublesome at times. It felt like we had to wait every single time. We ordered room service once and the food was delicious but while taking the plates out, we dropped the plate in the balcony. We called housekeeping and they said they would be there right away. The next thing we noticed was a raccoon in our balcony. So we called them once again And a total of 3 times. No one showed up. The raccoon destroyed everything. That was really disappointing. I had really high expectations from this resort based on its ratings. Also signing after every meal was a little annoying. It was a little nerve wrecking as I was not sure what and how much I would be paying for. Would I give it another try? Maybe. I have been to other resorts and I would want to try others. I did not find anything special in this resort.
Excellent . We really enjoyed our stay . During the emergency that occured due to pipes back up,- the stuff was very helpful, moved us to a totally different area. And we even received complimentary massages.
Beautiful beach, great tasting food and drinks and a wonderful property. Highly recommend the meal plan to keep costs reasonable.
Just an amazing property, beautiful in every way. Delicious food, pristine beach with golf carts to shuttle you back and forth. This is not your typical all-inclusive.
Love the fairmont mayakoba! Service was outstanding and grounds are beautiful. Would be nice if there were a few more kid driven activities and/or snack menu.
we have a week of family vacation in this hotel and its the best hotel we stay in Ribiera maya , we love the casitas rooms , the bicycles , the pools , the restaurants the beach , all the people iwork in mayacoba its so nice , definitely we coming back in the future !! carrillo Family !!
Amazing! Great staff and facilities. Rooms are amazing.
Amazing place with superb staff. The food was always great but has gone to the next level with the new chef. The re-done beach is 20x better than before- truly gorgeous! Request the upper level of the Casita when staying for better light in the room.
This is paradise! Outstanding 5 day stay at The Fairmont Mayakoba! Amazing food, service and accommodations. Even when at capacity, the resort does not feel crowded. Beautiful resort with gorgeous beach and the delicious food. Executive Chef Eric and Chefs Demian and Emilo prepared gourmet dishes every night. 3 restaurants and each was 5 star. Food was truly high quality, fresh and creative. They spoiled us with fresh snapper, salmon and miso cod. Filet mignon and rib eye steak. Incredible Mexican food. The breakfast was just as impressive. This resort cares about the environment as it recycles and avoids waste. They even had holiday decorations made from recyclable materials. Chadi Director of Operations went out of his way to make our stay special for our entire family. We were celebrating my husband's parents 50th wedding anniversary and the attentions to detail was truly appreciated and unexpected. Pastry Chefs Andrea, Nestor and Abelardo made the most unique dessert in the shape of a piñata! it was like nothing we had ever seen! You actually hit the chocolate piñata and deliciousness came pouring out! Truly a work of art that tasted like heaven! Truly a great family resort (although many couples were enjoying themselves too). The pools were gorgeous and not crowded. You always had a lounge chair at the beach and pool. Wonderful service. I cannot say enough about this resort. One of the very best holidays our family has ever experienced.
The best vacation of our lives. Thank you Cain, Chefs Eric and Demien, and everyone at the Fairmont. It was pure perfection from start to finish (even the rain was fun).
my experience at the hotel is fabulous, you will noticed as soon as you arrive to the reception how great it is. You feel very welcomed. Beach is great, there wasn't a lot of people which made it even better. We had all inclusive and we were able to go to three different restaurants, 1 @ the beach, 1 for breakfast and 1 @ the reception that serves Sushi, meet and others. All the three were incredible, the food was excellent and also the service. Drinks were always perfect as well. Negative: After some days at the hotel you can get a little bored to go to the same places over and over. There were swimming pools in different locations, all very nice, for my children's only 1 slide was not very entertained, kids club was not very tempting. My daughter wanted to go in a free kayak @ the beach but she wasn't allowed since less than 6 years old, so I would say that this place is more for adults. Distances between beach, room and restaurants is far, they transport you in golf carts. Overall the hotel has excellent rooms, food, service, I would definitely recommend it to everyone with some 'comments' as noted above.
Beautiful hotel and location! We were awestruck by the integration of the different ecosystems while maintaining a luxury resort. The staff was genuinely kind and attentive. We thought about staying at Rosewood, but are extremely glad we chose Fairmont. If you can, schedule a massage at Willow Stream-divine!
The hotel is lovely! Very tranquil setting, great rooms and delicious food. The kids club is not the best we have seen and the distance to the beach is not for everyone but our 8 year old loved it.
very good environment, the activities are good. the staff very nice and helpful. beautiful view
