Great staff who took care of anything we requested. Jacinto at the Rinconcito pool is the best bartender. .
I wish we had more days to stay... it was a wonderful experience my kids had a blast at water park. Food was delicious. The only thing is they should update the towels in the rooms they look yellow and hard and not white and soft.
This place goes up and beyond expectations. We were kindly greeted as we got out of our shuttle. Check in was smooth. We sat down with a host and he asked what the occasion was and we told him it's out 10yr anniversar. We got our bags to our room and went off to dinner. When we got back to our room we found a personalized letter with a fruit basket. The people of palladium do a fantasticjob of getting the party started. Can't waittoget back!
This was our third time to this hotel within a year. The service was great, the complex is kept very clean and tidy. The beach bar is excellent for remembering your orders each day. The only thing was the new Spanish restaurant, wasn't very good for us. It lacked variety and quantity of food. I think the Chinese restaurant was better. Too bad the Brazilian restaurant was under construction. Hopefully it will be open for Christmas. I also believe that this hotel lacks in Mexican heritage for meals. They tend to serve American type food. The beach was kept very clean even thou they had a couple of days of seaweed wash up on shore, they did a wonderful cleaning it up.
Not much around close by to get to but this place was amazing!
The hotel, grounds and setting, are beautiful, but the buffet dining rooms are HUGE and noisy. The restaurants that could be reserved were nice and quiet and the food was good. Overall, though, the resort food was crowded with to many noisy, drinking young adults. The amenities like snorkeling etc were all booked up.
I have a nice room on 2nd floor of Colonial Resort, but my brother room on ground floor smells so bad, like mold/ damp. My brother asks for a room change but they couldn't accommodate. The service is ok @ buffet restaurants, room service but very bad at front desk. No smile nor emotion. All a la carte restaurant food are just ok and i rarely seen any smiling face except the mexican restaurant Adelita, very nice manager and waiters who are so nice and sweet. That's the best experience we have in 7 days stay in Grand Palladium Colonial Resort.
the hotel was beautiful. the only problem was that the property was so big and the transportation to get back to you rooms in the evening was poor.
Overall the hotel is nice. The food could use some improvement but otherwise it is a great hotel.
It's a great hotel IF they put you in the hotel that you have paid for. Or given a choice.
Positive aspects Beautiful property, very quiet. Better than Cancun Very clean Nice size rooms. Negative Unattentive to your needs. check your reservation. Make sure they assign you to the right hotel. I was putted in a far away hotel named riviera when i paid for the colonnial. They told me that i got an upgrated.???Far away from everything. They promise to change me to the Colonnial hotel after few days.???. I got it done for the same late daY, late night. It took more than an hour for the transportation to pick us up. Transportation inside of the hotel is a real mess. Be prepare to wait for the chu chu train to go back to your lobby. Problem is, it takes forever to arrive and most of the time is packed. If you ask a driver on a different shuttle to take you, they just ignored you or they keep telling you wait for the train. We walked to the room and lobby most of the time with my in laws in their 70s. Wi-fi. It may not work if you have an android phone like me. A guy from tech support helped me. It took a day to get it done. The hotel staff they are worried about arguing with you why you are wrong rather than help you. Ex. Wifi (it took me three tiimes over the phone, and a trip to reception to beg for my wifi code to find out a rude receptionist arguing that i should have it already. It took her longer lecturing me where to find the code on my welcome package instead of printing it. It took her few seconds to do it after my persistance. Be very careful when you buy things on the hotel. Especially in dollars. The change given back three times was short. I have to argue with clerks on those stores to get the difference. They only give back pesos no dollars. I have stay on different hotels in Cancun and by far this is the one with the worst customer service.
Staff was wonderful, very helpful. Very clean. Beautiful grounds.
We have not been to an all inclusive resort in the past while our friends who we traveled with have been to several. In all, our stay was positive. Resort was clean. Staff was good. But there is a lack of attention to detail and some staff "caring" about your stay. When asking for some simple things, they were forgotten or ignored, especially if you asked for something that an individual could not be accountable for. If you needed coffee or something at a restaurant, all was good. If you asked for something in your room that someone had to follow through on, not good at all. Not detrimental to the trip, but comfort in an all inclusive is what is being sold and that did not come through in all cases. But beach was great, bartenders fun, food plentiful and good and you could always find something to eat that was good.
The service is bad, and 95% staff really does not care, food is so, no ocean views, no handicapped amenities. Looked like a small apartment complex. Would not recommend.
Third time to Riviera Maya and loved this resort. It's only as big as you make it! (see hint). The nicest, longest beach of any resort I have stayed at, and also the most and largest pools. Kid's pool fabulous! and close to the beach. Food was very good, and although a bit "European" in the selections for our group, you can ALWAYS find something good to eat. Customer service was a bit spotty, but there were some excellent people in the buffets. Beach bartenders could have been a bit friendlier, El Rinconcito bar service was excellent. Ate in two a la carte restaurants--both were almost too hot to make the meal completely enjoyable, although the food was good. Had read this on other reviews, and found it to be accurate; not sure why the management doesn't address this issue since it is mentioned over and over. Room was large, clean and comfortable and the renovations taking place now will make them even better and more attractive. Would definitely return to this resort and check out the other sections we just didn't have time to explore!
Let me start out by saying this is a wonderful resort in a beautiful location. The whole place seemed to be pretty well maintained and the food was adequate. Our experience however left a lot to be desired. The service at this resort is downright bad. The main culprits were the dining facility staff and the front desk personal. They were rude and not helpful throughout our stay. If you want good service from anyone you better give them a few dollars in advance or they will more or less ignore you. I could probably ignore the poor service if I was able to catch a decent buzz, but all the alcohol is watered down way too much to do so. Let me add that the group I was with is very low maintenance and have never had this much trouble in all our our years of traveling together.
After much research of All Inclusives in Riviera Maya, we chose Grand Palladium because it had not just a Teen Club, but a full activity schedule for teens. However, my 17-year old daughter went to about 5 of the various activities on the schedule, and none of them happened. There would be a teen coordinator there, but no event going on. We've been to Beaches a few times which is far superior in this area. If there aren't other teens participating, the activities coordinator engages you and makes you feel very comfortable. The teen coordinators really appeared disinterested. Maybe we just had a week where not many teens wanted to partake. A couple teen boys would be playing Xbox, but thats it. My daughter ended up hanging out with my husband and I most of the time. Which was fine. Other than that, we liked the resort. Very clean, good food, great shows. Its very large; be prepared to walk a lot!
I stayed at the Grand Palladium Colonial in one of the suites. It was pretty nice and the rooms were clean. I wouldn't recommend a suite unless you are planning on sitting in your room a lot or just have to have a jacuzzi tub. To me the extra cost was wasted. The food was just ok but I was already expecting that from reading reviews before our trip. The entertainment and the customer service was really good.
This was our fifth stay at Grand Palladium. Value is great and staff are even better. Very welcoming.
My husband and I Loved the experience. The Grand Palladium was beautiful..we felt extremely welcomed. The staff was so friendly. We were there for 5 days and couldn't fit all there was to do in our stay...The spa was gorgeous, we spent hours there. We snorkeled in the salt water pool which was unique and private. The beach was breathtaking and pools were lovely. The resort is huge and we were lost a few times but once we figured out how to take the trolley around it was easy. The only feature that was not perfect was the cuisine. We were not impressed with the food at all. Of course the drinks were abundant and free... Overall we did have a fantastic time..we would love to go back again.
