Beds were super comfortable. The room was just ok, not much room (we got the partial ocean view room) bed sheets had stains on them. The most disappointing part was no beach seating, and no downstairs bar like what is pictured in the ad. The upstairs bar was good, the pool view of the beach is amazing, but if you want to relax actually on the beach, you’re gonna have to do that elsewhere unfortunately which is pretty misleading from what is pictured on the ad. Overall personally we wouldn’t stay here again.
Overall this was a mediocre facility. The staff members were super friendly but the beach area was rather disappointing. Several boards on the deck needed repair. The hotel itself was not noisy but several bars just up the street played music well into the night.
This place was absolutely amazing! The staff was exceptional, and the Manager Yuri went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The views from the room are breathtaking as this resort is right on the ocean and near all the shops and eateries on 5th Ave.
This is my second time staying here and the property and staff are unmatched! This hotel is beachfront on one of the best locations to swim, shop, dine, and has an amazing nightlife! Also the staff from the GM (Yuri Martinez) to the front desk clerks (Lupita & Eneida) were all amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. If you’re looking for an amazing Playa Del Carmen experience I highly recommend The Carmen Hotel!

The hotel is in the perfect location. Right in fro t of the beach and right next to 5th avenue, but the hotel does not provide beach chairs and the first floor is under construction. I think it was a restaurant but it had the view to the ocean from the first floor but you could not use it. Wish I would have known. Other than that the hotel is beautiful, we got the deluxe luxury room and it was really big and nice.
Excellent location, central to everything. Rooftop pool with a bar very relaxing with amazing views. It is beachfront however no actual beach area for the hotel. You will be able to hear music throughout the night from nearby bars and restaurants but overall enjoyed the stay here.
Stayed here for the first time and had an amazing experience. The staff was very attentive, helpful, and happy. Will definitely be back!
Great Deck Pool
Location is great and the staff is helpful. Rooms can be cleaner. Water was lukewarm at best. We had to take cold showers at times.
My daughter and checked in at 11 pm after a long day of snorkeling. At 2 am a man was banging and kicking our door demanding we open it. We were so scared. He was trying very hard to get in. We called the front desk to let them know there was a man trying to get into our room and to please help us. They said they would check on it. A few minutes later the man stopped. We called the front desk to see what the situation was and if he was escorted from the property. They said they checked and there was nothing and no one else heard anything. They said they looked at the cameras and nothing. We were so scared this guy would come back and since the staff obviously was lying about the cameras we decided to leave and had to find us a place where we felt safe. We went back to this hotel the following day to request a refund. The manager wouldn't talk to me directly. To add insult to an already traumatic experience, he told his desk man he looked at the cameras and there was nothing and maybe we were just having a nightmare!!! THIS PLACE IS SHADY!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
The service and manner in which we were treated was what made the trip truly unforgettable. While the rooms are highly futuristic, the 5-star rating decreased slightly in terms of how clean and polished the rooms are. The rooftop bar and the fact that the beach is feet if not inches away makes this property a gem. Once again though, the customer service was outstanding and made us feel like royalty!

The Carmen hotel is a nice hotel right on the beach the staff is super friendly the rooms are rather unique they've a couple pretty decent restaurants on the grounds. Amazing view from the roof of the 5th floor a bar in a pool there I would stay there again.
I decided to book an ocean front room at the Carmen for my Honeymoon and it turned out to be one of the biggest mistakes I made in my entire wife. I would recommend to anyone stay away from this hotel.
Hotel was extremely well kept and modern. The staff was especially helpful, from the front desk to the wait staff. The rooftop bar and pool were so much fun! There isn't much of a beach in front, but the beach chairs on the patio did just fine with the ocean right there. I would definitely stay here again!
