I was lucky enough to be at this place, even if some little finishing touches were missing my overall impression was awesome! The hotel is beautiful, the service good, the rooms very spacious we had the ocean front enough place for intimacy. The place is small so it doesn’t feel unpersonal. I recommend it.

We stayed for 7 nights and had only breakfast during this stay. Freshly made smoothies and juices, lots of fruit and good coffee. Great staff. Calm and relaxed atmosphere and nice big rooms. The beach, lounger part, is by a small road but it was only nice to see the golf cars passing by and overall it was a really relaxed and nice feeling on this beautiful island. I would definitely return to this hotel.

We spent one night at this hotel asked to stay another night but manager was not very accommodating. Hotel was busy but not full so trying to jack up price on last minute was very questionable management but not surprising in Mexico. The room was booked as junior suite but all there rooms are considered this which is a loose term! They have three levels of rooms which was not clear upon booking. Our room was close to lobby there is no view from most rooms, rooms are comfortable, and a decent size. location is on a nice property close to beach and 10 minute walk to town. We had breakfast included and we really enjoyed it.

Just came back after a week of stay and this was a perfect stay for us. We had a family room and 4 of us loved it. The experience of staying at this hotel and in Holbox in general was superb. We have stayed in Cancun and Playas de Carmen several times and didn't come here before because of the travel time and taking the boat but it wasn't that bad and I would love to repeat this experience. Much safer than Cancun and Playas.

First heard about the island from a guy we met in Merida in 1987-been in the back of my mind ever since! Been planning a trip here for years and finally decided we had better go because the word was out. Booked our shuttle through Holbox Adventures and it worked out well. Arrived after dark so the real revelation would be in the morning. Booked Paraiso del Mar based on reviews here on Tripadvisor and turned out to be a great decision. Loved this hotel, the staff here and the included breakfast buffet! The room was cool, comfy and clean with plenty of space to unpack and get comfortable and there is a refrigerator. The shower worked great and the bed was so comfortable. The beach was across a narrow road but so pretty and relaxing- I brought a floatie from home and loved just bobbing around in the calm waters. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet every morning with it's wide selections and tasty food. We went to town most nights and discovered wonderful and unique restaurants- so many more than we could ever get to in 1 week. We truly enjoyed our week in Holbox and would love to return since there were so many things we just didn't have time to do-and when we do return we will again stay at Paraiso del Mar because it is a true jewel of Holbox

My husband & I spent 11 days here in April 2015 for our honeymoon, a last minute website deal that we nearly didn't book as it looked too good to be true! So glad we did, the Island and the hotel are perfect, low rise, low key, sand roads and no cars (except the delivery truck and the police pick up!) The hotel is relaxed and relaxing, pretty much on the beach, you have to walk across the "road" to the beach. Laze on a sunbed and have your drinks brought to you or get up and walk up to the pool bar the choice is yours...best walk to town I've ever had, a leisurely 10 minutes in the sea! We were AI and the food was of a good standard, some better than others but nothing to complain about and being good value we also ate out in the town. Staff were all excellent, helpful, friendly and cheerful. Don't bother with fancy clothes and high heels, flip flops or bare feet are the only way to go here. Getting around the island is fun too, go by foot, bike or golf cart, these are also the taxi's! It took me this long to write this review for purely selfish reasons, I didn't want everyone to know about this little piece of paradise, however it appears that it has been discovered by the "fashionable people" and will soon go the way of all other discovered paradise islands, it is no longer a secret!!

We booked a "top" mastersuite and the room was within expectations except that... the Jacuzzi did not work, there was no in-room coffee machine, tv was poor and the wifi just did not work most of the time (it did in other places) - a particularly annoying feature. And they did not accept amex because the terminal had "broken down". A pity because staff and food were very nice; we won't return, surely there are other / better options to try in Holbox.

Its hard to put into words how calm and beautiful this island is, but it is easy to note how wonderful our hotel was. Our room was on the second floor with an enviable view, we loved everything about our room and how clean it was. The food and drinks are absolutely amazing and not basic at all, really creative, props to the chefs. We loved how we started our days with breakfast and spent it at the beach entirely, and ended with a romantic dinner and with the sound of the ocean.

Hands down the most relaxing hotel we've stayed at. The journey there was a bit crazy, but in a fun kind of way, but the moment we got off at the hotel and entered into the reception it was like we'd reached an oasis. Super attentive guy checked us in and the room we got on first floor was perfect. Clean, comfy bed, nice decoration and decent bathroom and shower. The best way I can describe the hotel is that it has a tranquil feel throughout and it somehow makes you relax and chill. The beach is on the doorstep and it's big but very quiet and natural and you can walk or go for a boat trip fishing, or just sunbathe. Holbox the small town is a short walk away when you want a bit more life and it's very safe to walk around the island. Best week we've had in years.

Loved the property, the hammock, the room. All was at or above my expectation. Food was great! Wednesday evening entertainment by the Mandolin/Guitar group was amazing! As someone who came to the island to fish with the Tarpon Club it would be great to have an early morning breakfast option or a "sack breakfast" as we usually leave well before breakfast is ready to serve in the dinning room.
