Bad front desk service

We have been to Sunscape Sabor several times over the years but this has been the worst stay of them all. Let me start with our 1st room. After our first day, we started having trouble with the A/C unit leaking all over the floor. They came and looked at it and we thought it was fixed but the next day, it did it again. This happened 3 times before they put us in another room. The room 2222 was actually a downgrade to what we had. The mini fridge didn't work. The fan, light switches and outlets in most of the room didn't work. The only place we could charge our phones was in the bathroom. As for the food, El Patio had a very limited menu and didn't even sound appetizing. Sunny Side Grill was better but again, not the best. Our only saving grace was the Marketplace Cafe that had a different food theme every night and our waiter (Mario) who took excellent care of us. Unfortunately, this property is and has gone downhill and we will no longer be staying with them again.

They used to have a little snack bar by the pool 24-7 that had taco meat, chips, guacamole, fresh made hamburgers, fries, quesadillas. All of this was available even at 3am after a night of drinking and being on vacation. Now, during the day they have a crappy fake food truck that you have to put an order in, then 30 minutes later you get a cold hamburger and cold soggy fries. The entire stay. I can eat nachos and hamburgers all week, we are upper middle class, but, we are not fancy people. This is the only time I have stayed at a resort and completely felt ripped off. We literally had to SNEAK into Secrets to get DECENT food and service. That was not even good. It was just DECENT. There is basically 0 entertainment, no nightclub like they used to have (Secrets yes). This place has gone to the point where we will never return. We ended up renting a car and DRIVING to Bucanos beach club EVERY SINGLE DAY, and paid to be there\eat there instead of here. we just slept here. The servers were completely aware of how crappy and unavailable the food was. There is 0 management involved here. I fully expect to get a copy and pasted response on here, because thats what they do. I feel like they owe us money for staying there. Everyone we spoke to at Secrets said they were disappointed. Again, we are not fancy people being snooty, I used to love this place.

This was a great, affordable, safe vacation that was all inclusive for me. We were a party of four adults, and it worked out great! Several dining options as well as a lot of things to do. If you have children, you have to eat at a couple of, restaurants and small café that you need to sit down at. The Buffay is not open for children. We did most of our eating at the buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner because it was dropped in vases. The staff was excellent down to the last person I met, a few notable people Were Randy who helped us with our luggage and lobby concierge, Crystal , who helped us at the dining area, whom we have known for three years and always a pleasant gal. Eugenia, Sergio, Fanni, Vanessa, and Roxanna were also more than fantastic waiters at the Market Café. The rooms were good, depending on your room, some of the fixtures were not all up to snuff. I.e. my friend had a toilet paper holder that was broken and the sink drain that was not working correctly. Otherwise it was just a great vacation , but I would highly recommend.

We first walked into the reception area of Sunscape to be greeted by blaring music coming from the pool, which is right next to reception. This made checking in very difficult as you could not hear, nor quite understand the semi English speaking front desk staff. Staff was very very friendly throughout the resort. We hoped the volume of the music was temporary, but unfortunately it was every day, all day. If you sat at the pool, you could not talk to your partner 3 feet away without yelling. Food type and quality is a 50/50. Some days it was good, others very lacking. One night the main restaurant ran out of food and turned away guests. Keep in mind, the buffet is ADULTS only for dinner. So when the restaurant ran out of food, the buffet would not let us in as we had kids. Sit down times for the sit/order type restaurants was well over an hour. The Buffet was small and not abundant and not refilled very often. You walked away feeling as though what was left was the scraps no one wanted. The all day "Hamburger shack" was a "to order" so 20 minutes for chicken nuggets. 20 minutes for french fries. The person would take one order and not come back until the order was cooked, then would take the next order. It was worthless to order from the all day food bus. We had 16 people on this trip. Half had issues with rooms. One room no water for 2.5 days. Another room no air conditioning. No room for more text. do not stay here.

We have been going to Sunscape and the sister property Secrets for the past 14 years. We love the staff and the location of the resorts to the ocean more than anything. This year we felt they were short staffed and of course that makes it hard for the employees working. Other than that, we loved our stay and will continue going back year after year.

Beautiful facility!

Beach access was nice. Staff was friendly.

It was a good experience overall. More dining options and more day activities would be an improvement.

Beautiful beach and tropical surroundings,small options and typical all inclusive Americanized food, room was small and smelled musty, towels had previous guests hair on them.

Loved the resort, but was disappointed that several restaurants were closed during the construction/remodeling.

We love the staff and the location of the property to the ocean. We have been going to this resort for 14 years and can't wait to book again for next year. We always go for 3 1/2 to 4 weeks in January to the first part of Feb. Always nice weather!

U can see the ocean from your room and the staff is excellent!
