It was a hotel so quiet... comfy and clean. We have time to walk around it... a Mall, a protected area to walk so beautiful and very close. A nice place absolutely!! We got a great deal with big lunch included too. I recommend it.

Arrived to this property without a reservation and it was great that they could accommodate us and even offered a discounted rate. The hotel is centrally located on the side of one of the main city streets so it's relatively easy to get to other places in Villahermosa. In my opinion this property has seen better days, the rooms are in need of some major renovations starting with the doors, following through the bathrooms and ending with the pillows. One thing that I appreciated is that regardless of how old furniture was, they kept everything clean. The beds where ok, but the pillows, IMO, where hard and thicker than the average, it wasn't a deal breaker since I stayed for only one night, but that could've been a factor if I had stayed there for several nights. Something I found interesting while ordering dinner through room service is that they were very service oriented and that it was the first time they have called me "my chief" at a hotel. It felt a little odd at first but after exploring more of the city I found out it was a way to express respect. The inner patio of the hotel has a nice garden and a swimming pool, it looked tempting during the day as it was hot. As for the restaurant, I only had breakfast there. Buffet had limited options and compared to what other guests have said, we didn't experience any issues with the service, there were only a few other guests there at the same time and I don't know how things are when things get busy. Overall, I would only rate room cleanliness a 5 star.

As hotels age they tend not to be as well cared for.The extra effort seems to be made on the new not the old.Fulsome praise to housekeeping staff here for the efforts made to keep this abode clean and dirt free. The decor 70/80's but approach to cleanliness and hygiene " on the mark " Restaurant and bar area is caught in the same era.Do students of hospitality degrees ever do historical field trips?apart from having more light than an evening sports arena the attitude was definitely "why have you come to spoil my tidy tables and please order and eat quickly so I can reset for breakfast " In the bar far too many underemployed staff following the sports channels My request for a g n t generated a lengthy committee meeting and I wished I had not bothered Breakfast displayed more idleness.Atleast six waiters confusing movement with production. My request for strong coffee met with disdain and mutate rings Am happy to pay hotel tariff but much to be learnt from approach of cleaning staff Well done ladies(presumably)

Although very well situated, near the only place that deserves a two-hour visit in Villahermosa (La Venta park), this run-down hotel is very poorly managed. If anything goes wrong and you want to complain to the manager, he will never get out from his hid in the back of the reception. They will keep telling you: "He will come out in a minute..." during so long, that in the end you will decide to drop it. On the bright side, the swimming pool is nice, surrounded by large mango trees.

I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks, while I was working in Villahermosa. The hotel is a little dated compared to the other hotels in town. The location is good, easy access to the main avenues in town, also it is 5 min from the mall. The restaurant from the hotel does not have much to offer, the good point that there are some restaurants around that you can go by walk. The internet that the hotel offer is awful. Very slow and lose connection very often. I also had some issues to communicate with the staff using english.

Arrived without reservations heading to and from Palenque. The good: Good central location. Convenient and safe parking and easy access to principal roads. Easy to catch public transportation. La Venta park is right across the street. Good restaurant with excellent food and drinks. Courteous service from all hotel personnel. Clean and comfortable rooms. Nice pool and bar. ATM in the lobby. They offer tours and car rentals from the hotel lobby. The first night we got a room in the courtyard overlooking the pool and spent a wonderful night. Then left to Palenque. The bad: Noise….returned from Palenque and received a room near the street where we heard traffic, music and people for most of the night. I think I slept maybe 2 to 3 hours total. We were given another room the following day overlooking the parking lot in the front of the hotel where some nightclub or other establishment played loud music into the night--not the hotel’s fault but something to take into consideration. The tv service went out on an entire wing of the hotel one day. Water began dripping from air conditioning unit and had to wait until the following day for repair. So the quality of your stay here will depend on where your room is located. The only way we would stay here again would be by getting a room in the courtyard overlooking the pool and away from the lobby and streets.

I stayed in this hotel with my family (2 adults 1x6 yrs and 1x13 yrs) and even tough it's just a 3 star hotel it has all what a 4 star could have. Our room was facing the car park on the main road but it wasn't noisy and was able to have a nice sleep. The swimming pool is good size and most of the time it was just my family in there (like having our own private pool) it seems that there are lots of office people staying there. We used it as a departing point to visit Agua Azul waterfalls, Pelenque, Chiapas and Veracruz. We paid for a tourist guide to take us every where and it was worthy. The hotel is located close to La Venta, a couple of restaurants and the shops. We had our meals most of the times when we were out but in the evenings we has a snack in the hotel. Their sandwiches are very good and their hot chocolate is delicious! Milkshakes were lovely. You must try it. Staff were helpful. Breakfast was good and was cheaper that eating out. The only down side: not all the rooms have a safe like our and they don't provide this facility at reception so we ended carrying all our valuables with us at all time. Apart from this I would go back to this hotel.

Ok. We got it. Water is not drinkable in Mexico. We got a half liter in the room in two small bottles. After severe rationing to brush teeth the water was gone. Called reception. No more water for you. Need water. The water you have is only a courtesy not a right. I added the last part to give you a flavor of the distinct tone. Went down and begged for water. None in the hotel .. Go across the very busy 4 lane in front of the hotel and walk a couple of blocks at 11 at night to the oxxo and they might sell you some. Took cab to oxxo. Oh yes, room was fine. Don't forget your water. Ps toilet paper too. I think that too is a courtesy.

We came into Villahermosa later in the evening and we were tired. We were looking for secure parking as our car was packed full of luggage, two bikes on the back and luggage on top. I needs it to be safe. They put us in the front spot within view of the front desk. They gave us a great rate. I was surprised at the dated rooms, but wrote it up to the good rate. The front sitting room I the lobby was family style and comfortable. The halls were tile so it was loud as well as the rooms. There was a lot of noise other halls. The buffet in the morning was not so great. The staff was very nice and they tried hard to make up for the lack of quality. I don't believe I would stay there again, but in a pinch, it was adequate.

Nothing particularly wrong with Hotel Viva but nothing that makes it stand out either. Location may be the most redeeming feature for those with business to do in the nearby office complexes. Rooms are very average and cleanliness was just Ok -no one likes a roach crawling on them while sitting in the lobby. Staff was fine though not overly comfortable in any language but Spanish -not that there's anything wrong with that. If you are looking for an average business hotel and nothing more, you should be content here.
