I was so happy to go to this resort because there are such great reviews but I am so disappointed at how much it sucked. I hope this review helps others. The resort itself is beautiful and very clean but the food is horrible nothing has flavor. Ended up getting sick on the 2nd day, when we go to Mexico I am excited to try some great Mexican food and this resort does not offer that. Some of the workers are very very rude two people we did love was angel in the reception and Estrellita around the hotel she was awesome!! Some employees walk around like they hate their job. Cleaning in the room could have been better. We will not be back to this resort. If you’re looking for a great place we recommend fiesta Americana our stay there in 2021was amazing 5/5!

It’s was beautiful and had a wonderful staff

My family love visiting Mexico and trying new resorts and we had a great time at Riu Vallerta. The beach was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. The water was so warm and the sand comfortable on our bare feet. The pools were nice however all four pools were pretty deep for my 9 year old. He could reach just on his tippy toes. He wasn't interested in the kiddie pool, it was small, loud and very busy to be expected. If you have small children the pools weren't great. We walked over to Riu Jalisco and swam. The pools had some more shallow areas. The food was good. Lots of fresh seafood. The only downside is we like to have a create your own pasta station and they did not have this. Staff was always working hard and eager to assist. Check in and check out was easy. We booked Greyline through orbitz for transportation. It was easy to find outside of the airport doors. The people in the airport work VERY hard to get your info and have you do a timeshare presentation. DO NOT TALK to them. They are just doing their job but it makes the airport experience high stress. We ended up taking an uber back to the airport. It cost about $15 US for the uber and it was easy. We had a flight change and it was not possible for Greyline to accommodate us on short notice. That was annoying, we tried calling/email and no response. Overall great experience for the price. Rooms were nice and maid service was great. We had an amazing vacation!

Resort was super Clean, all staff were super nice and the food was delicious. Just wish they had more entertainment for the kids. Perhaps an arcade room or something. Overall The experience was awesome.

There were 2 things i didnt like: -it was impossible to get a place at some of the restaurants because didn’t have reservations. Every night the 4 restaurants were “full” by 6:30 pm. Pretty irritating -pool’s water was super hot, yes. It needs a system to help cooling it.

Beach access was great

The property was nicely laid out. What I didn’t like was ice cream wasn’t readily available at any time.

Front desk check in and check out have no idea what they are doing, was suppose to receive wifi access for every adult that stays in the room (total of 3) they only gave me 2 because according to them that’s the limit.. found out later it should be 1 per person, ended up paying 50.00 additional dollars for wifi access. Liquor is blah.. not top shelf don’t expect jack Daniels or grey goose etc. Food is good, restaurants are good, staff (other than front desk) is amazing please tip your staff that takes care of you.

This was my first time in Puerto Vallarta and I have to say I am very impressed with the hotel I picked. Check in took less then 10 minutes. My room was immediately available. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel was very clean. All staff memeber wore mask at all times and my room was made up and cleaned every day with fresh towels. I would definitely recommend and return. The only complaint I would have if you stay in the beach the venders are relentless. It seemed like every few minutes someone was coming up to you to sell you something. They have a limited line to were you can place your beach chair but no limit line for this vendors like on other resorts I have stayed in.

Tile is slippery

Everyone was really nice.

Great staff and the resort was always clean. The front desk was also very helpful and responded quickly with any needs we had while visiting the RIU Vallarta. Thank you!

We had an amazing weeklong stay and are already planning a return trip! We had soem amazing food at the gourmet restaurant nd the italian restaurant. And the pool bartenders are amazing

I have been to so many RIU resorts, these were the worst beds ever!!! My back has been hurting since I left. I could not sleep! I also disliked there is NO room service. This is the first RIU I been to that does not have it. other then that, no more complaints.
