Great place and very accommodating. Staff very friendly. Beds were a little hard. We had a great time!

Hotel is located only a short cab ride from the airport. Friendly staff great you the moment you arrive and strive to make your stay enjoyable throughout your visit. The beach scene is straight out of a painting with crashing waves and mountains dotting the horizon. The grounds are well kept and clean. Food is average for an all inclusive deal. Buffets offer the most choices and variety for meals. Every night there was a show put on in the open air theatre. Over all it was a great value for the cost. I would definitely come back in the future.

Excellent we got up graded to a suite!! It was beautiful

The hotel was nice. The beach was great. The staff was second to none.

Older, low budget hotel, rooms ok, food ok, entertainment low to nothing, pretty much for the same money go to Riu Jalisco and enjoy your vacation

Great staff and great hotel. Worth every penny. Been in other others and after staying on the Riu I'll make sure to always stay in a Riu hotel from now on. great vacation

We enjoyed the hotel design and the way it was decorated. There were plenty of bars and it was easy to get drinks from the beach. The beach had many chairs - we never had an issue getting chairs after breakfast (the pool chairs were all saved by towels early so plan accordingly if you want a good spot for the day there). There were many palm trees arranged on the beach so too much sun was not an issue. The food was decent and the restaurants are on a first come, first served basis. Sir George, the gourmet restaurant, was our favorite and has limited seating so line up early to ensure you get a table. The steakhouse is right on the beach and was good as well. There was some pretty decent entertainment. The Michael Jackson performance and the Opera Night performance really stood out. The staff was very courteous and our room was always cleaned as well as restocked. The staff were decorating for Christmas during our stay and it looked very nice all around the resort. It was about a 30 minute taxi ride to downtown Puerto Vallarta and took about an hour by bus to get back to the hotel. Overall, this resort was very enjoyable. It was a smaller resort, which we enjoyed, and had a great beach area to relax all day. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel as a less expensive option for relaxing. The views from the beach were amazing.

The hotel was lovely & is situated on one of the nicest beach areas on the Pacific side. We had great food & the staff & amenities were fantastic. The view was AMAZING. It was awesome to wake up to a glorious ocean view. Unfortunately we weren't all that comfortable in the room we had. It wasn't the cleanest, and the sleeping arrangements for our families were less than ideal. For a family of 4 it was NOT ok that my 2 teenage kids had to sleep with us in the over-sized king bed (2 doubles stuck together, and no way to separate them), as the hide-a-bed sofa was not adequate for anyone to sleep on. To me a junior suite would have more room than a regular sized hotel room here in Canada. There were no kitchen facilities or room service, just a fully stocked fridge & coffee pot. An upgrade would have been ideal but that was not offered to us.

The Hotel Staff was very unpleasant very rude (mean). Specially a man called Natalio front desk check in. He had an bad attitude since the time we checked in the Hotel. He would always answer in a bad way when asked questions about the Hotel or any questions conserning our stay. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.

Had a good time with the family. Tony at the restaurant was very helpful. Will for sure be going back for a longer stay. Very friendly and family resort.

The Vallarta is fine, but not nearly as nice as the Palace. Love the Riu brand, and this one is fine, but nothing to blow me away. Staff is friendly, but with the exception of one waitress, we never felt like any staff members went out of their way to make us feel special (and we are really low maintenance guests, but on vacation, having someone act excited to see you is fun). We love the Puerto Vallarta and Nayarit area, but will likely return to either the Jalisco or the Palace when we return to PVR.

If you are looking for a nice relaxing vacation, this is NOT it. There are hundreds of children ranging from about age 8 and under running every where. We later found out that this hotel has a kids stay free policy at certain times of year. It was impossible to get a chair at either pool including the adult pool which was full of children the entire stay. We actually saw people out before 7 am with flashlights reserving chairs which it clearly states in the hotel rules that this is not allowed and that hotel staff would remove any items left to reserve chairs, but they never did enforce it. The hotel itself was decent although it was terribly noisy and you could not sleep past around 7:30 am due to the noisy hallways from the loud guests and their children. The food was not bad but did get tiring after 7 days. Basically the same thing day after day even if you ate at the different places. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone unless you want to take 5 children per couple under the age of 6. That was the general population of the hotel. The overall clientele seemed to be fairly classless. Men allowed to sit at the lobby bars in swimsuits without shirts. I am guessing that for the money, the hotel brings in the budget minded guests. Not trying to be judgmental, but if you are looking for a little more upscale vacation, this is not it.

The bed sheets and pillow covers were dirty and had hair on them, we had to ask them to change and place clean bed sheets and pillow covers.

Get up early to leave your towel on a poolside chair/bed. people just go and get a towel there to reserve it, even if they're not at the pool.

The hotel is outdated but the staff is so eager to help and please you. The hotel is nice for the price you pay, the food at the Buffett surprised me, lots of fruits and veggies. I wasn't expecting much and I was nicely surprised.

Hard to get around. Not handicap friendly. had to walk long distances to a drink.

We had wonderful time. Hotel is very friendly to kids.

Had a great time and enjoyed my stay at this luxurious hotel. Everyone was nice and attentive of my wife and I.

The hotel staff was wonderful, the pool and beach were both absolutely stunning, food was great and the hotel is very clean. The hotel is located a little far from the actual town (about a 30 min/$20 cab ride) but most of the resorts are in the same location in Nuevo Vallarta as opposed to Puerto Vallarta so it's something you will encounter at most of the hotels. The only bad thing I have to say about the hotel is that the bed was pretty uncomfortable. Our room was beautiful and clean but the mattress felt like it was about 10 years old so that was really the only negative.

Had a wonderful five day stay at this hotel with a girlfriend for my birthday. Buffet food is great and there is lots of variety. They had many local dishes to taste which is always great as well as the fresh fruit juices. Short drive from Vallarta Adventures and about 25 minutes to the Malecon.
