I recently stayed at Secrets Bahia Mita hoping for a peaceful, adults-only vacation, but the resort fell short of what was advertised. While the room itself was comfortable, most of the overall experience was disappointing.
The main issue is that the property is not truly adults only. There is no real separation between the family side and the adult side, everything from the main dining areas to shared facilities is open to guests of all ages. Families with children were everywhere, including in spaces I expected to be quiet. This completely defeated the purpose of choosing an adults-only resort. I booked this trip specifically to unwind, but instead it felt crowded, noisy, and far from relaxing. The way the resort presents itself is misleading.
During the day, the atmosphere around the pools was quite dull. There were very few activities, and the music was low-energy and inconsistent, which didn’t create any kind of enjoyable vibe. The resort as a whole lacked liveliness and personality and even then the events themselves felt geared more toward families than adults.
Overall, the resort’s biggest shortcoming is that it does not provide a true adults-only experience. If you’re looking for an adult-focused getaway, this is not the right place. I left feeling disappointed and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone seeking a genuine adults-only vacation.
