We were in a double room on first floor. Good size for a city hotel. The bathroom is on the small size. The area was one block to Painted Ladies and Alamo Square as well as to good restaurants. You do have to park in a parking garage a few blocks away but we only needed to use the car when we left the city. We took public transportation which is near the hotel to get around the city. The do have a pantry area which is open during the day but wished that it was open later in order to get ice and other items. Would definitely recommend staying here!

My husband and I stayed there for two nights while visiting family. We had to double park our car to unload our luggage. Our room was clean and comfortable, the bed was very good and the bathroom was really small. Since it was only two nights we didn't mind that. The first night we returned after 10:30 pm and found the closest parking (5 blocks away) closed and we had to park about 10 blocks away which was not good at all. We told the staff about this when we checked out, they thanked us for the information and were very sorry about the inconvenience. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

Love the location as there are very few accommodations in this area. It is a quiet pocket of a neighbor that was in proximity to whom we were visiting. The person-less COVID check in worked well. The place was clean. The staff was available and communicative as needed. The room was comfortable and quiet. Missed having breakfast but that is the case with all hotels now. Good restaurant and cafe within a block of the hotel. Definitely would stay there again.

Loved that continental breakfast was included and there is a super cute area to hangout.

Great inn with friendly staff, clean rooms, and quiet setting. Is walking distance from great little shops and restaurants.

Great hotel, Great location and the staff is better than Great!!

A great little Inn. Good basic accommodation, friendly staff and well located to transport, dining options and close to range of things to see and do.

The Grove Inn is a top find in the San Francisco area. The location is around the corner from the Painted Ladies and within walking distance from several great restaurants and bars (check out Stone Bowl Plus , Wholesome Bakery, and the Noir Lounge). The rooms were cozy and comfortable, and I loved that I was able to stay with my sister, husband, and toddler in the same space but give my sister a different room. We'd definitely stay here again!

This place was absolutely perfect! Yes, the bathroom was small but everything was extremely clean and cozy. All the visitors are very quiet and respectful. We really enjoyed our weekend. A great value and will definitely be back again!

Staff greatly exceeded expectations. They were incredibly kind and went out of their way to help us.

This is a very sweet, but still clean and modern inn. There is a continental breakfast that is more European than American, reminds me of a lot of breakfasts I had in hostels and hotels in Europe. The breakfast isn't super impressive, but will be enough to fill you up for a day of sight seeing. When we arrived, someone showed us our room but mentioned that there was a suite available if we would rather have that. We were traveling with an infant, so we were thrilled to have the suite with an extra room so that we could still have a light/the tv on after the baby went to sleep. The only negative was that the inn did not have any cribs, which was somewhat surprising. However, luckily I had called ahead to ask about the crib so we were prepared, and rented a pack-n-play from a baby rental service. But that is the only negative I would say about the inn, so if you don't need a crib, then I would highly recommend. I loved the area it was in, and actually booked the inn after asking a friend who recently lived in San Francisco where to stay. This was not a touristy area at all, but felt more like when you stay in an air bnb and are really in a neighborhood where locals hang out and live.
