JW Marriott San Francisco Union Square

Recent guest reviews

Hotel was under construction little bit noisy, but the hotel staff was very apologetic about the situation.

I would definitely stay here again. Central location and close to shopping

It is unfortunate to give this review because the staff is MAGNIFICENT and SERVICE is what you would expect from a JWM, however, this hotel and building, as so many others in the San Francisco area have to be upgraded. Windows that don't close properly, noisy streets at night, faulty AC, squeeky treadmills (all of them) and a weird layout for a hotel, make this JW NOT THE HOTEL you would expect for an avg of $330 USD x night. Location is good, not perfect but you can work with it. Restaurant is super average. Lobby bar is good. Again, service is really good- from bell desk, to barman, concierge, housekeeping, waiters and reception.

New, generous room granite bath refrigerator and illy coffee in the room. Modern smart tv, Super friendly staff all the way up to hotel executives, Nasser was very approachable. Expensive breakfast but very tasty and fresh. Location is central without any hills! High end dinning moments away. I love San Fran and I loved my stay at JW!

Beds worn out and uncomfortable lobby dirty in lounge area. Staff was superb

Hotel was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The room was upscale and clean. Extras and meals at the hotel are very expensive. Hotel is within walking distance to union square shopping, many restaurants, and the subway station.

The hotel exceeded expectations for a high quality business hotel. Food was creative and tasty and only negative was the relatively expensive valet parking at $68 per day.

The location of this hotel was perfect for traveling around SF without a car. The hotel staff planned out how we were going to get to where ever we wanted to go. I would definitely come back! A little pricey but it's worth it!

The staff was amazing. They were very family friendly (provided a crib, fridge and a spot in the hotel that wouldn't disturb our neighbors in the event our child was crying). I will definitely stay at this hotel again. The only reason why I didn't give this hotel a 5 star rating was due to food and internet costs.

Stayed in the Junior Suite......Very nice. The location is fantastic for great restaurants. ....clubs....or just walking around Union Square. .....highly recommend

The JW was great! Everyone was really helpful. Our room was surprisingly spacious for a city hotel. Room service was delicious. The whole hotel is beautiful. We will absolutely go back!!

From check-in to check-out, I was pleased with every aspect of my stay.

The hotel is in a great location. Everyone at the hotel wanted everyone to have an enjoyable stay. I deffinately would go back there again.

So the staff was friendly, the room was nice, cleanliness, not so much. Upon going in the (very small) shower the first morning, my wife noticed hair stuck to the shower wall from the previous occupants. That morning I went down and asked them to send someone up specifically to clean the shower the shower, came back the following evening and the hair was still there. I returned again to the lobby the following morning and again requested they send someone to clean the shower, and returned the following afternoon to find the hair stuck to the wall still there. After a third time and asking to speak to the manager they sent someone up that night and the shower was finally cleaned. The second issue I had was with the billing, in short, the hotel placed a $2300 hold on my bank account for my $837 reservation when they (the hotel) couldn't get a hold of Orb. When I called 5 minutes later, Orb had no issues finding my reservation.

People are very helpful, and friendly as well. Nicer than the last time I was there. Valet service was excellent.

I opted for guaranteed comfort over a "quaint" character hotel and this place delivered. Very clean, elegant, comfy room, and we got the top floor with a view - foggy of course!

I did cancel my trip because my girlfriend had a car accident and the hotel did not allow me to reschedule my reservation at another day.

loved the 42" flat screen t.v. The staff were verY helpful and friendly, room service was a half an hour late but stiLl hot and tastey.

The overall experience was good , the location of the hotel is close to Union Square , just 2 blocks away . The building is a little bit old , its not what a JW Marriot usually offers , but the rooms were ok , specially the bathrooms , which were very clean and spacious . The hotel doesnt offer many amenities regarding public spaces , just a medium lobby and a small restaurant where you can have breakfast . Breakfast was ok , a little expensive , about 25 dollars per person , but there are certainly better places where you can eat. The concierge service was great and the staff were very polite and willing to help at all times. So to resume this review , the hotel is ok , comfortable , but i guess that for the price of it you can get a way better deal .

we have a lot of fun, a taste a very good things
