Nice hotel and confortble ideal to spend nights excellent people and service.

Service is great, building and room is old. Everything is repainted hundreds of time, window rattles, however it is clean and good for one night.

My stay in the Bombay Suite was one of the finest hotel experiences of my life. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. The massage therapist came to the room and had medical knowledge and years of experience. The food was very healthy and delicious. Plus, the neighborhood of Nob Hill is truly magical. I highly suggest booking a balcony suite to listen to the San Francisco sounds and watch the neighborhood.

Hotel is very nice you won't be disappointed. The staff was mostly nice and knowledgeable. My room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Checkin was slow and seemed disorganized. It reminded me of checking into a European hotel. The restaurant staff was consistently slow. One waiter came to our table and said, "what do you want" - strange. If you plan on getting in shape during your stay in San Fran, this is definately the hotel for you. It's on top of the hill and everything you'll want to visit is not on top of the hill.

BEAUTIFUL. I've been wanting to stay at the Fairmont for years. The premises are always great but they are absolutely must-see during the holidays. I can't wait to go back, to be truthful!

The first room smelled like puke but then they offered an upgrade to the top floor room for $40/night which was great! But one morning we went down and saw a delicious looking buffet. Thinking it would be around$40-50 for each of us we went for it. It ended up being $79/ person plus an additional$25/ person for the breakfast. It was extremely disappointing and surprising to get a check that totaled $235 for breakfast...

I maybe unfortunate during my stay. When I check in the afternoon, I was so relieved when I arrived in the room expecting the best. The room was so spacious but the smell seems there was a smoker inside the room. Then when I wash my hand in the bathroom I saw hairs in the sink then on the edge of the toilet seat there was a yellow dried thing on it. Oh wow so I told the front desk and they told me that it's disgusting! I'm happy that she said they will send someone to clean it. Which I appreciate. But my trust in the hotel just vanished. Oh well I said I will not ruin my day so I went out . Then when I came back the the strand of hairs are still there. Oh well I guess I'm lucky. Aside from that I'm expecting the slipper but there was none and the toiletries are not that par compare to other hotels. Paging to the management I need a refund and a free stay voucher! Lol

The staff were wonderful and so helpful and the property beautiful with so much history. The room was well appointed and the amenities fantastic. For such a grand hotel, the rooms should be cleaner and the mattress needed to be turned. I was also surprised that non-Fairmont members couldn't use gym without having to pay a fee. With the expense of the hotel I would expect all guests to be able to use the gym.

The Fairmont San Francisco was one of the best hotel experiences I have had. It was our anniversary when we checked in and the sent chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Champagne to our room! Check in was fantastic, our room was very clean and the staff was just amazing. Everyone greeted you and always asked if they could assist you in any way. I have not received this kind of service at The Four Seasons! I was so pampered that I am home now and I miss San Francisco!

The Fairmont is a beautiful old historic hotel with fabulous common areas and good sized rooms. I travel often and generally select 5-star hotels and particularly prefer those operating in historic buildings. In San Francisco that leaves multiple choices, of course. While nothing was really wrong with the Fairmont, it just fell short of the experience at other 5-star properties - and in this price range it is the little things that make the difference. Clean, spacious rooms, but no turndown service or complimentary bottled water. Really? Still charging for internet in a $700 room? Long lines at checkout? As I said, nothing wrong, but I would choose Ritz Carlton on my next stay.

I really enjoyed it. First time staying there. I like the people who I met there and the overall feel to the place. The room was upgraded for only $35 and it was nice. Good location, and the Tonga room is cool downstairs.

Great location, huge room, luxury feel. Bed was comfortable and hotel was quiet. Check in staff tried to upsell us a better room but we stuck to what we had already paid for and were surprised by how nice it was.

everything was maintained superbly. you felt the luxury as you walk in, and the high ceilings, wide hallways, all of which were meticulously maintained continued that feeling.
