The hotel was beautiful inside and the beds were comfy. The staff was super nice too. However, the area outside at seemed dangerous. We heard gunshots and yelling outside of our window on a Sunday around 5am for example. This was our first time to San Fran and if we go again, I'll be staying in a different section of the city for sure.

A perfect overnight stay, and wish we had been able to enjoy this hotel longer. Impeccably appointed from the entry foyer and lounges, through to the comfortable, large rooms and amenities. The central location is ideal for exploring the city. The lodgings are only outshone by the welcoming and helpful team (especially the assistant manager on the front desk who checked us in) who all go above and beyond to ensure a fabulous experience. We will return, and highly recommend.

Very good hotel. It very clean has a good gym and access to water and restrooms were excellent. It gets a little loud when the hotel hosts an event at night. The area around the hotel is a little shady especially going down Taylor street towards market Street.

Great option. Beautiful, historic hotel. Comfortable bed. Loved the fireplaces and ambience. Restaurant was adequate. Great, complimentary coffee. The rooms are very small, but cozy. (I imagine most hotels in this area are similar.) The hotel itself is great. The location (being on the border of the TL) made for some interesting “sight seeing,” but that is not the fault of the hotel, which felt like a safe haven amidst the chaos.
