Great service, location and rooms
One of our favorite properties for the area. Close to shopping, good food, and easy walk to sites. Check in was quick and good customer service. Lobby areas aren’t crowded so you can hang out if you want by the fire or library. Also appreciated the water bottle refill station! Rooms are clean and a normal size for SF, refrigerator was a nice touch.
It was a very nice hotel. The area 1 block behind the hotel was not the best.
Ok, Bad área.
The property was near union square and close to most areas we wanted to see. The hotel has musicians in the lounge area playing at specified times. we like the Italian restaurant inside the hotel too.
Nice hotel, would come back. Location is great, no complaints.
This property is physically beautiful and the staff are very helpful and charming. The main thing is that the location is excellent, perfectly located near Union Square. I especially liked the lobby with it’s architecture and massive fireplace. The lounge area as well. The room itself had some issues. To begin with, it is small. The towels in the room had a hair on them, and the refrigerator for the honor bar was on the fritz. These are minor things. The decor of the room was very smart. But, on checkout we were presented with a bill which included a $30 per day “Guest Amenities Fee” plus an additional $4.20 per day “Guest Amenities Fee Tax”. This was unexpected after having already paid what we thought was the full room price. I realize that there were, in fact, guest amenities- like the morning coffee in the lounge and happy hour in the evening. Foreknowledge of the fees would be nice though. Overall, I give The Marker high marks. I would recommend it as good value for money and would definitely return for another stay.
On the border of the Tenderloin. The street people situation in SF is out of hand so one needs to pay attention to their surroundings. Otherwise, the hotel is lovely and the staff very helpful.
Hotel itself was just ok. Neighborhood is dicey at best. Was charged a $70 ‘resort’ fee for 2 nights which basically amounted to me paying for other people to drink win from 5-6PM
Its a nice place: pretty, clean, good location. But the resort fee (an extra $30/night) is silly. It did not show up until the last step of the Orbitz reservation process - it felt like a bait and switch, because the hotel looked about $30 cheaper than some comparable hotels in the area, but then it wasn't. The staff said the fee is for morning coffee (which most hotels have anyway), and "social hour" in the evening. Social hour has wine and live music. I tried it out since we were paying for it. The wine was mediocre, definitely not a $30 dollar glass!
I especially enjoyed relaxing by the fireplace in the library.
Very clean, I’ll stay again next time when I’m visiting SF!
It was clean and cozy. The room I got had a hvac unit covering the entire window so it was a very dark room. The hotel charged me a $70 amenities fee that was never disclosed at booking.
As I walked in the staff were really nice and welcoming. As i stepped in the room, I saw a piece of hair probably from the recent customer who stayed there, ripped wallpapers and really hard towels. I paid for a suite and let me tell you, the price wasn’t worth it.
They were so nice yo us. And room is just like the pictures
