Don't do it! Great staff but it's not worth all the HIDDEN FEES. Including parking plus parking tax, urban fee plus urban fee tax it costs $82.08/day plus the daily rate. The rooms are small typical boutique style but the bathrooms are reminiscent of a highway motel (rusting, mildew, lent balls in light fixtures). Also, this hotel is atop a very steep, acute angle hill!
Very friendly staff! The service is 5 star and I would stay here again.
As a frequent business traveler, the Stanford Court really exceeded my expectations. My room was very comfortable, clean and quiet, but what really set this hotel apart was the staff. From check in to check out every staff person was extremely friendly and helpful. The morning buffet was great and came included with my Orbitz reservation which I didn't realize. The service staff even packed up some extra things so I could have something for breakfast the next day before my planned early morning departure to the airport. When I did check out, the front desk had my receipt waiting for me as they knew I had reserved a cab to the airport - wow - really nice! I would've liked the bar area to be slightly more cozy, but the bar staff made up for it by being super pleasant and accommodating - it was a great place to grab a quick dinner and glass of wine at the end of my day. I'd definitely book this hotel again on a return trip to SF.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent location near by everything. Although rooms a little small the bed was very comfortable
Is the Stanford Court trying too hard to be a Brooklyn hipster? It's actually very nice and a great location. Most signs are in the form of tablets, with frequent text-style abbreviations. As a boomer, I'm fine with the nearly-all digital approach, though I was disappointed not to hear the promised Metallica in the elevator (Plenty of other SF artists and bands, though). Dings for unannounced $20 "resort fee" for things that either should be free (lobby coffee, use of gym, wi-fi) or that I wouldn't use (bike rental. In SF.) Though that $20 coffee was not SBux, thank you for that. Further Dings for the only tea in the room being chamomile. Hotels are notorious for not giving you decent tea - if anything they give you Earl Grey which - news flash - not everyone loves. I carry my own tea. Staff were very nice and helpful.
I was very impressed with the staff and the facility. Although my friend had trouble with the hills, I loved it and plan on coming back soon. Close to a lot of nice places to eat.
Great location close to trolley and walking distance; good restaurants nearby; comfy bed; larger room; nice bar and paid breakfast; friendly staff;
Location and staff suited my stay. Concierge even helped me find a hair stylist within walking distance!
But cut the price on the breakfast buffet. Geez, it's breakfast not filet mignon.
Great location surrounded by a lot of things to do
Great location ,walking distance to China Town , hotel room is very clean and comfortable bed . Highly recommended........
Everything was great and we will definitely stay again.
Surprisingly good value for the price in San Francisco.
Very nice, newly built hotel with comfy bed and linens; great hotel staff who pointed out best eateries in Asheville; dog friendly
It was everything I could've hoped for. Good location comfortable clean friendly. I would gladly stay there again
Hotel was great. Staff was really friendly and kind! The only complain that I have is that the shower head in our hotel was short. I'm 6ft and I had to bend down a bit to take a shower. Other then that no complaints.
Great hotel, very friendly staff but rooms and look were a bit tired. Furniture in my room had peeling veneer and was worn. Gorgeous location on the top of the hill but be prepared to walk up and down extremely steep inclines for just about anything you do. Obviously, Uber or Lyft are great choices if you are not spry or in shape. One sink in bath could be problematic when the two of you are getting ready to go out. Bath flooring very dated. Water pressure good but hand help newer Toto shower wand did not have any adjustment for spray. NO bathrobes which I have come to expect in most hotels these days. All in all though, I did enjoy my stay. Good room rate made up for some of these issues.
The hotel is near the iconic church. Very accessible to cable car. One block you'll reach the China town. Ride the cable car down to embarcadero bart station. The cable car basically is adjacent to the hotel. You can reach north to south and east to west because it has a cross path that will lead you to very lovely tourists area in San Francisco. The only thing that I want them to at least improve is the scent of the bed and the pillows. Maybe I just like a fresh scent. My standard of approval is if the bed and pillow smell good . It means it is well taken care.
No water in rooms. No minbar. Bad tv reception. Housekeeping staff more concerned about their schedule than your comfort. I came back to my room about 3 pm to rest. The room was not cleaned. Once I laid down to rest, the staff called me 3 times to get in. Rude!
