The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square4.0 out of 5.0

I beautiful historical place. I suggest the rooms in the Tower, as the main building rooms are like walking back a 100 years into the past, although nicely furnished. But be prepared for supplementary costs - for everything! Wi-fi is $16 a day for a 5Mbs connection. Eggs Benedict is $26. Using the computer next to reception to print out your boarding pass will cost you $10.00!
Staff was very accommodating, location was superb, just wish they offered two queen size beds instead of two doubles as we had a family of 4 and they couldn't offer a rollaway bed. Overall very happy and would consider returning again if the price makes sense
Excellent location for getting to/from airport on BART and walking distance to a number of key places I was to be. When I asked for a room change due to noisesome neighbors the night before (the first night of a three night stay) the request was actioned immediately and easily, no fuss - and I have no idea if I had neighbors in the rooms next door it was peacefully quiet. Rooms are well maintained and I loved the robes.
Close to shopping, theatre & great restaurants. The staff is always helpful & friendly. The rooms are comfortable & spacious. We will come back for sure
It was a perfect location for Sketchiest and the Jan 21 Women's march.
You can hear dog barking and people partying in the rooms around.
We reserved a queen size bed, however, the room only had a double. No mention of this at check-in. Additionally the bathroom was lack luster including water damage behind the shower/toilet which was poorly covered by wall paper. The staff was friendly and somewhat responsive to addressing our concern. With all of the boutique hotels in the city I would hesitate to recommend this hotel due to the inflated cost and our lackluster room.
Very great location because it's close to union square, chinatown, little italy, etc. However, the hotel is too old, and the clearness of the room and bathroom was not good. They have two buildings (you won't notice that until you check in), one is very very old which you can tell by the outerior and interior structure of the building, and the other one is a new one. Unfortunately, when I booked the hotel, the website didn't say which one is old one and what their differences are. Most importantly, the picture shown on the website was completely different that what I had in the hotel. When I asked the staff about my issue, they just kept telling me to pay $30 more per night so that they could upgrade me to the new building. If I paid $30 more per night, I would definitely prefer to stay at InterContinental hotel!
Hotel has a beautiful lobby and bar that is where it ends Room is run down dirty urine stains around toilet with rust stains around faucet in sink Air conditioner not working hear it running but not cool Upholstery on chairs old faded Worn and ripped rug brown old worn out with flat path where it has been worn out. Would not be caught without a flip flop on No magnifying mirror for makeup in bathroom Very unhappy with the accommodations does not deserve the rating it got on line
Took a vacation and the hotel was walking distance from everything. It was a beautiful day so we even walked up to Pier 39, Lombard street and back.
Hotel is in perfect location. I missed the resturant in the lobby being open. new tower was perfect
Great location, beautiful old hotel...the tower side have newer rooms.
All aspects of stay were great. A definite 4+ stars (no 5 b/c no turn down, etc). Well located and staff well above average. Would not hesitate to recommend. Lobby and check in/out area has to be seen. Very neat!
Room could use new carpets, staff were very friendly, would recommend
Concierge staff were top notch. Very helpful. Room was quiet. Bed very comfortable. Front desk staff also are top level.
Front desk way too slow; not enough people helping customers. Long lines to check in and out.
Great location. Lovely hotel. Parking is expensive, but reasonable for the location.
Room was wonderful location perfect and staff perfect. I've traveled all over the world and I honestly enjoyed this stay as the best ever
I can't begin to describe the quality! It was amazing. Chandelier in the room, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and huge closet! Plus, the VIEW was phenomenal. It was truly the best location! Shopping, restaurants!!! And the service was simply amazing as well! Will DEFINITELY be back!
Good location right downtown. Wish they had free wifi for the price you pay
