La Luna Inn, a C-Two Hotel

2.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and staff was helpful. Check in was quick, parking was available in front of our room, breakfast was included. It's close to Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Sausalito, Fine Arts Museum and many other places to visit.

They need to repair their stuff. Part of the remote to the TV did not work. The phone did not work. And the coffee pot was halfway put together.

We stayed at La Luna Inn for 6 nights. From reading other reviews I knew to expect street noise but definitely was not to the point where we couldn't sleep. Everything was as described so no surprises. We enjoyed our stay because it was walking distance to several restaurants, the famous Lombard street and the palace of fine arts. Perfect for tourists who will be spending most of the day exploring and just need a place to rest at the end of the day.

Very bad!! Bedbugs!!! I need the credit of the value you pay for this reservation. I dit not stay in that hotel

Mattress in bad conditions, noisy place, parking spaces very small

You get what you pay for with this hotel. It is not luxury but it works. Decent location, free parking (though sometimes full, and the spots are really narrow). Bathroom could have been cleaner. Overall not bad, especially given the price.

I was surprised how run down the hotel was. The bathroom was very small and had no lighting. The bed was uncomfortable. The free breakfast is toast or Cheerios. Very disappointed considering how much I paid for.

My wife and I had a nice stay here in San Francisco. It was very clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It is one of the more affordable places to stay in the area that is still very nice. Since it is so close to all of the action it was a little noisy but that is to be expected in a big city. I would definitely recommend this place to a friend.

Cabs can take you anywhere in SF and you don't have to pay to park.....

Decided to have a last minute get away to the city with my wife. Not realizing that the SF marathon was this same weekend, all the hotel prices were sky high! La Luna Inn was still $200 bucks a night for a full sized bed! We made do since we weren't willing to spend $350+ for a room for 1 night. It is what it is....a cheap hotel. I've stayed at worse. Room was clean, and had been updated. It is one star for a reason. Staff was super nice and accommodating.

This hotel was very close to many tourist areas. The room was clean and there was no noise coming from outside even though it was in a populated area. It served its purpose for our short trip. The free breakfast was good and was enough to start our sightseeing day.

This was a great find! Super location blocks from the Palace of Fine Arts, Presidio, Marina and easy access to the Golden Gate. Chestnut St. is a block over and has many restaurants and bars to hop. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful with ideas of things to do and places to eat. I would definitely stay again.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Had a problem with the tv, called the front desk and someone came to fix the problem within 5 minutes

Despite some trepidation, as I normally stay in 4 star hotels, La Luna Inn was just right for my 4 night stay in SF. The front desk staff was accommodating, the room was spacious and clean, and the wi-fi readily available. Very convenient to the area of SF where I needed to be. Lots of services in walking distance. Request a room on a higher floor, in the back of the property, where it is quiet, rather than on Lombard Street side, which is quite busy. It's more like a motel than a hotel, and they lock the doors to the front desk area from the parking lot, which is a bit off putting. No security (anyone can walk up the stairs from the street to the rooms) but luckily I had no issues.

Had a very unpleasant experience. The staff was rude. The room was very unclean. Items in the room did not work (bedside light, volume on tv). No hot water in the morning. The continental breakfast was mediocre.

The place is fine, and the location beyond perfect, the only problem is that they gave us one of the oldest rooms, which wasn't as nice as the ones in the photos, and I did see other rooms, and those where better... bad luck to us!

Wonderful staff, great location, free parking and free breakfast!

We stayed at La Luna Inn for 8 nights at the end of January, 2015. The rooms are basic but clean: normal queen size bed, iron, hair dryer, bad shampoos and soaps, no mini fridge but you have a couple of bottles of water on the table for $3 / bottle. Our room had a very distinctive smell of cleaning chemicals right when we were opening the door in the evenings and we had to keep the door open for a couple of minutes to get rid of it (or maybe it was still there but we were not paying attention anymore). The hotel has a free parking which is a big deal in the city and free breakfast. That breakfast will not get your excitement going: you can have coffee, orange and apple juices from a machine, bread for toasts, basic mini packages of gem, margarine and microwaveable packages of oatmeal. At exactly 9:30 am someone from the hotel staff comes to the eating area and takes out the remaining slices of bread together with the plastic enclosure it was kept in. That made me laugh at our first morning. The remaining packages of gem and margarine are also hidden until next morning. No yogurts or any type of pastries are on the menu. The hotel is located on the very active street but our room was not the closest to the street, traffic noise was not a problem. Overall the hotel is a good deal money-wise, especially if you are not looking for fancier accommodations or wider breakfast options.

Electrical wires are exposed, bathroom is terrible, staff is busy doing a lot of things but not dealing with customers.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Even tough the rooms are facing a busy street, I didn't find the noise of the cars driving by to be a problem to sleep. I couldn't really hear anything after the window was closed. They offer free brake fast , but it's really basic : juice, coffee, bread, fruits and oatmeal. They have a parking and that's a plus for people that come SF Driving since many hotels in downtown don't include free parking. Freindly staff too!
