Room was extremely small...difficult to figure out how to charge devices, etc

Good place Resturants not far away Unfortunately not every day doing the room But other things we're good

Unspoiled 1913 style. Did you know that guests shared bath and toilet facilities? Or pay more and have your own.

The hotel is bare bones but comfortable, and the staff is very courteous. A good budget option in downtown SF.

enjoy staying at the mosser because of it's convenience - bart, downtown, reasonable rates, etc.

Great place to stay! Affordable. Friendly staff. Tiny bathrooms. Clean. Double pane windows keep it quiet.

Small rooms attractively furnished in a very desirable location at a very good price. My room (a single) had no bath or toilet; no problem. Those facilities were nearby in the halls, and very clean. The amenities included very fast WiFi, a 24 hour laundry room on site and free basic cable and HBO. There was complimentary coffee and muffins available in the hotel's restaurant but I did not try them. The bed was a very comfortable queen size, the room was old but well maintained. I felt quite secure inside the hotel (access to lobby is either by use of key card or having 24-hour doorman open the door). Located around the corner from the ENORMOUS Westfield Mall, half a block from the Metreon shopping center and at the edge of the Union Sq. district, the hotel is surrounded by shopping, live theaters (The Warfield, Golden Gate, Curran and Orpheum are comfortable walking distance), dining and multiplex movie theaters. Best option for parking is at the city operated parking garage a half-block away (be prepared, like all parking in San Francisco the city makes a lot of money--figure around $40/day). The hotel staff was hospitable, effective and informed. Big plus. BIG PLUS... I was very pleased with the Mosser and would be happy to stay there in the future.

My experience un SF was awesome. The hotel is well located. I found it a little bit too expensive but for three nights is ok!

This is close to shopping, transportation and activities.

The location of hotel is very convenient. The cleanliness of the room is highly appreciable.

Very good. It was quiet, safe, and very clean. I got more than I was expecting for that type of hotel.

Very old hotel. The tolerable, if perhaps a bit annoying: Trash in windows near weird shafts near shared toilets. Mostly unhealthy snacks in single vending machine in basement. The uncomfortable: no headboard on bed. Very low shower head was at my chest height. What it is: Small rooms in an old hotel which is maintained well, but no real improvements, like sub standard pillows and beds and bedding. It is clean. The good: Very nice staff - I always feel welcome here. Good night desk lady, and bellman, too. Close to Moscone.

The Negatives - the rooms are very very small, basically a twin/full bed and a small bathroom with a stand up shower. The sink to brush your teeth is in the room and not the bathroom. There was no where to put your clothes so they stayed in the luggage the whole time. There was no air conditioning but there was a window to open, but then you hear all the street noise all night (there was a ceiling fan). If it was cold outside, there is an old hot water heater to turn on. No refrigerator and no place to sit things on. Just a very small room. The Positive - the hotel was close to alot of restaurants so the location was great. The room was very clean. Its pretty much a place to hang your hat and go out to enjoy the city which is where you want to be!

The room was very clean & cozy. Perfect location in the middle of the city. Everything is right at your finger tips: Shopping, food, pharmaceuticals, & the convention center which was why I was in town (literally 2 block from the hotel). If in town again I will stay here again.

Everything was good except for the staff that received me that night and the company that I paid to pick me up at the Airport NEVER show up and I had to pay an extra 45$ in a taxy from the airport. the rest was fine

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mosser Hotel. The rooms are not large, but amenities were great, and we were there to see the city, so room size was of no consequence. We were very pleased to find that the Hotel uses its profits for philanthropy work with persons in poverty and for improving the environment. This is important to out family and our careers, so we would book the Mosser Hotel again, for the philanthropy reason alone! Thank you!

I stayed at The Mosser from 10/15-10/18 with a friend for a conference nearby. We chose this hotel b/c it was at a very convenient location near different transportation systems. We were also not planning to rent a car. We rented a room with two twin size beds and our own private bathroom. When we first walked into the room our first thought was that it was pretty small but nevertheless we were ok with it since we each had our own bed and we did not have to share bathrooms with others. The room was fairly noisy, we heard noise from the outside mainly from people coming in and out of the marriot across the street. Friday was even nosier with loud music coming from somewhere even the manager was confused about where it was coming from. Earplugs helped. Had an ok first night on Thursday. During Friday morning I noticed that there were two bug bites on my right hand and two bites on either side of my face near my eye. I contributed this to a mosquito that I killed in the room later on that day. Friday night came around, slept through the loud noise with earplugs. The following morning I noticed another bug bite on my right wrist and two more bites on either side of my face near my cheeks and one on my left shoulder. Now I'm freaking out because I am thinking it's bed bugs!! I am a nurse and have read about and seen bed bug bites. The bug bites usually appear on exposed skin and in linear or cluster fashion. Exactly what is appeared on my skin. Weird thing is my roommate did not get any bites, however, it may be that the bugs were only on my bed?!! so I looked around and tried to look for them, on the headboard, the crevices of the mattress but nothing, there were no blood stains on the bed sheets either. Nevertheless, I brought this to the manager's attention. He was pretty professional about it, not mean at all and seemed somewhat concerned. He offered us another room with two beds and promised that he would inspect the room thoroughly. I was a little skeptical about staying in another room in the same hotel with possible bed bugs but we didn't want to go through the hassle of looking into another hotel so we ended up staying. He also gave us a refund for one night (I think he should have given us refunds for at least 2 nights since I did get the bites while I was sleeping in that room/bed). I slept through Saturday with lots of waking up b/c now I am a bit traumatized and scared that the bugs might come out again to bite me. I was happy the next morning that I did not get new bites but I was still worried that the bugs are on my clothes and in my luggage. As soon as I got back home I striped naked, washed all my clothes in hot water, hopped in the shower and put my luggage in a tight closed plastic bag. I would be so angry if I brought the bugs back into my house with my kids around. So far its been ok, no signs of any more bug bites but the current bug bites are so itchy and annoying. We also have an appointment to have family photos taken in 1 week so I really hope the bug bites will disappear by then. This whole experience was very stressful. I look terrible, I'm itchy and trying very hard not to scratch since I do not want scars, I am worried I carried bugs home to my family. It was also very hard to pay attention during my conference since I was so worried about this situation. If it wasn't for the bug bites, this would have been a better experience at the hotel. The best thing about the hotel is the location. I am not sure if I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was my first visit to San Francisco. The location was perfect to access everything we wanted to do. The staff was nice and we had a nice comfortable stay. We were taking a tour of Napa and the tour bus picked us up the street from our hotel.

It worked well for my purposes in teaching a seminar nearby.

The slamming of doors was just too much through out the morning.
