Terrific location just inside Chinatown but only about 2 blocks from Union Square. One block from a 5-star hotel that costs 5 times as much! Great option for the budget-minded traveler.

This place is great.

Nice and Clean

Staff was kind, but the hotel is not great. Hard beds, noisy, nothing in the way of basic amenities (fridge/cooler space, water, etc.)

I loved the reasonable rates and location in the epicenter of China Town. As a local hotel (non franchise) in China Town, I believe Grant Plaza is continuing the theme in the form of the very firm mattresses on the beds - definitely Chinese style, but resulting in a reliable back ache every morning (until after the 4th day when my body finally started to adjust).

Poor general condition. Staff is overwhelmed or unprepared. Poor cleanliness. Hair on the bathroom walls. A pink spot over the shower. The matress was horrible. I woke up with a back pain. I left after the first night.

The beds are the hardest beds I've ever slept on. We could not sleep. Location was good and staff was helpful.

Right in the heart of Chinatown which was excellent. Walking distance to BART. Just needs a mini fridge and the property would be perfect.

Hotel is in a great location, right at the start of Chinatown and walking distance to many good spots like Starbucks, Union Square and the Financial District, and a 10 minute drive to the Embarcadero. The hotel was in good condition, clean and secure. Some reviews said the hotel was noisy but I didn’t hear any loud noises inside or out in the street. It was actually really nice and quiet. I would totally recommend staying here. There are two things I did not like: the A/C can not be adjusted manually so we were stuck in a room that was a bit warm. I called the front desk and they offered a medium-sized portable fan for us to use. Also, the beds were really really hard to sleep on. Overall, this is a great hotel to stay at. The location makes up for the A/C and the hard bed.

It was affordable and in a convenient location in Chinatown. Only 2 problems. No air conditioning and no Fox News. Only Dinosaur Hotels don't have fox News.

The reception/lobby area is really nice and fancy. However, the room is really old and tiny. Not worth the money.

Great location and friendly staff. The room itself was very tiny with barely enough space for the bed and chair. (photos seem misleading) It was also uncomfortable and not well kept: the 'mattress' was solid/more like a box spring and the sheets and towels have definitely seen better days.

This is a great place for a quick trip to the Bay Area. Cost effective, clean, and close to everything.

Dear guest, Thank you for your comments regarding your stay. We wish to mention that our hotel is a small boutique hotel, therefore, although we don't offer many of the amenities of bigger more expensive hotels, we offer an excellent location and affordability. As well due to health department guidelines ice machine, snack machine, and coffee service is suspended due to COVID MITIGATION. We are glad to hear that you find the hotel staff great and helpful.
