Motel Capri

If you are driving around SF, not sure why one would choose to do so with the excellent public transit but if you are, most hotels near the major sites will charge you 50.00 to 60.00 dollars a day to park in their garage. We had to have a car for personal reasons. We have done this before and stayed in other motels near the Presidio which are all older, reasonably priced and most offer free parking. The other two we stayed at were older inside and out. Motel Capri is nicely updated inside with a very worn exterior. It had the worst exterior of the three we have stayed at in the area and I thought I might have made a big mistake but it is very nice, immaculately clean, comfortable INSIDE with frig, microwave and a newer air-conditioning unit which was reasonably quiet. In addition, there were enough parking spots for all the guests. With the other two motels in the area, there was free parking but we were told that if we went out and came back late then the lot might be full and we would need to park on the street. If you want to go out, no worries at Motel Capri. There will be parking at anytime. Another plus is there are nice restaurants, convenience stores, etc, which service Pacific Height neighborhood just a few minutes walk away on Union Street.

They were redoing the office so check in and "breakfast" was in one of the rooms!! But the room itself was fine, clean and relatively comfortable. The biggest plus for this hotel is location. Very close to fishermans wharf yet in a quiet area.

upon arrival, I noticed their office was under construction. So we had to check-in at one of the rooms they had turned into a make shift office/ breakfast nook. I could see boxes of generic pastries and knew the free breakfast was going to be on the lower end of your typical continental breakfast. The overall experience was Very unprofessional and mediocre at best. Certainly not the best first impression for your guest. The room wasn't terrible, it did smell damp but what old hotel room doesn't. The furnishings in the living area were recently updated, but the bathroom was still retro. The worst part of it all, I woke up in the middle of the night and found BEDBUGS crawling around the covers.

Perfect location, great value, easy check-in, -out, Would stay there again!

Lobby under construction. Lobby opened late after 9am for contential breakfast. Stil goodbecause is low cost

When arriving at the hotel we were surprised by the condition of the outside. The hotel was under construction, so when checking in, you actually go to a guest room where a desk is set up with a staff member behind. We checked in and went to our room. The elevator was so small we took a couple trips between the group of us. The room looked clean. The beds were comfortable. Pillows were old and needed to be replaced- they were so thin I slept with my sweatshirt underneath mine. The bathroom was super outdated but clean. It has a retro look to it....we all loved it. The only issue we had with the bathroom was the small flying bugs in the shower. Free parking was great. There was poop outside the stairs next to the lobby and throw up next to the other stairs, which sat there for over 8 hours. This is horrible and should have been cleaned up by staff immediately, instead they put a caution sign near them in hopes you do not step in it. Breakfast in the morning consisted of a Danish and coffee. We were told that is what they offer since there is construction going on at the moment. This was ridiculous. We were not informed of this change and feel like we should have been. It may have changed our decision to stay at this location. We instead walked a couple blocks to a great café. If you stay here, call ahead of time to make sure there is no construction taking place and that the bugs in the bathroom are gone.

Quiet neighborhood. Clean room. Microwave. Flat screen t.v. Free parking.

Not the fanciest or the friendliest, but comfortable & clean room for the price! Would stay again.

Free parking and close to piers. The motel is old but it's not really bad. I rated ghis one obove 2.5.

This place is ok if you don't care about getting a good nights sleep.

The hotel lody is small and dirty it's smells. Our room had a strong smell, got 3rd floor room, there was something on the top of the roof that keeped opening/closing all night long it was a very loud noise. Out side people screaming and fighting all.night lonf.

Clean, updated, quiet motel. Convenient location and friendly staff!

Our stay at Motel Capri was pretty good. We really liked the area. From the outside of the motel we were a little worried...but once inside, the bed was nice and big and comfortable, we had a great tv (not that we watched it much) and everything was clean. I will have to say that we had a handicapped bathroom and they need to figure out a better way to keep the water IN the shower! We are not handicapped...so it was hard to get under the very short shower head and water went ALL OVER the bathroom floor...I mean everywhere! Other than that, we really liked this place for our 2 night stay. Close to a lot of action on Union Street as well as other local tourist attractions. We would def stay here again. It was also a pretty good value at a little less than $150/night.

We like this hotel. The location is good and convenience. The only thing is they should have double-panned windows so the noise level will be down a bit.

During our 2 day stay at Capri was very enjoyable! Very clean and the beds are extremely comfortable. Not the best location, but price was reasonable. They have convienent delivery service through specific restaurants and have good amenities. The walls are very thin and can hear a lot. Other than that great motel!

From the moment we arrived, the sink was stopped up. We told the front desk, were out the entire next day, and the drain still wasn't fixed. It was horrible! We couldn't get ready to go out, the room smelled, we felt dirty, there was no window in the bathroom. On the positive side, the room is well decorated, and the hotel has a great location.

The hotel located at a very nice, quiet street, close to many great attractions. Parking is free, our room had a mini fridge, microwave and flat screen TV. Everything inside the room looked very new and clean. The building itself doesn't look that great, the elevator is very old and the lobby as well. The only thing I really can complain about the pillows. They look great as decorations but not good for sleeping. You will improve your stay by bringing your own.

We have stayed at this motel before. They have done a good job updating the rooms (paint, new furniture). It was getting shabby before. I believe these are new owners and they have made it more comfortable. Also, this is a good location. It is in the Marina district but is off the main road making it quieter AND it has parking!

It was okay for me to stay for couple days. It is about 2 miles close to the Sea. While I stayed for 2 days, they were doing some maintenance next door. A little bit loud in the morning after 7am.

Great location. Very close to the wharf. The motel is average. The price was very good for being so close to the wharf. Very few amenties. Packaged pastries and coffee. The carpets had some stains and my bathroom sink would backup otherwise it was ok.
