I walked in to a used sanitary pad in a otherwise brand new garbage bag. I was completely shocked to find this. There were ants in the window sill. The front desk was cordial at best but when I called to report lost items they were useless and rude and were about to hang up on me. Completely unprofessional and not helpful in the least.

This is a basic budget hotel. However, that being said, the rooms were surprisingly clean, the beds were memory foam, and quite comfortable. Pillows were fabulous, maybe the first hotel in a long while I actually slept well in :-) You can hear your neighbours, but they were quieter than many lower cost hotels. This hotel has no other amenities, no pool, no sauna or hot tub, no exercise room. But look on the bright side, you will get lots of exercise going up and down the stairs! Hotel is in an absolutely perfect location, about 15 minutes walking to the small craft harbor, and 20 - 30 minutes walking to Fishermens wharf. Free parking for one car per room while staying there is a nice perk. Internet was OK, with reasonable signal levels, but wasn't particularly speedy. Unfortunately, the elevator was not operational while we were there, so we had to drag everything up and down multiple flights of stairs to our room. For some reason you can't access the stairway up to your room from the lower parking garage directly, you have to walk around the outside of the hotel, walk into the upper garage, and then you can use your access key to get into the stairway there. I found it rather odd to be locked out of the stairway, from the parking facility in the same hotel! That all being said, this hotel is a do-over for us, we definitely plan to visit again.

First of allThere is no elevator they have ants inside the room on the bed everywhere ,on the table .coffee machine is really dirty inside and staff don’t care

The hotel is conveniently located. The room was clean. I’d stay at this hotel again.

It was a breezy check in, clean rooms, and excellent price!

great hotel in prime location and great staff especially Vanessa

great location with free parking. Had a nice view of golden gate bridge from our room balcony as well

Fantastic location in SF, only about a 10-15 min walk from all the attractions on the water, as well as easily accessible because it's on Lombard street. The room was simple, but clean, and the bed was a super comfortable memory foam/tempurpedic style bed. The free indoor parking was a big plus because you can pay $50/day at many other hotels.

We stayed here as it was located near the Fisherman's Wharf area which was nice to be able to walk down and around. In addition, we loved the free parking. It was easy to get in and out of and we never had any issues getting a parking space. There seemed to always be a couple open spaces, no matter what time of day it was. We also bought tickets to the Double Decker hop-on-hop-off bus tour, and there was a stop about 2 blocks away from our hotel. We got a room that had a small balcony with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. The traffic along Lombard Street was very consistent, but we didn't have any issues with too much noise during the night. Our first day here was great, but on our second day, there was no hot water from about 1:00 pm Monday until we checked out Tuesday morning around 9 am. We called the front desk and they assured us it would be resolved quickly, but we waited 20 hours and never had hot water. When we checked out, the front desk employee told us the water had just been fixed and we could now use hot water (convenient). They claimed it was due to overuse by other hotel guests, but if that's the case, they need to plan for higher volumes to avoid this issue. Or just own up to the problem instead of making excuses.

Old motor Inn that is in great shape. Very clean. They were extremely nice and helpful

I stayed her on April 29, 2018 for one night. the hotel was convenient to the Cruise Port ( a $16 taxi ride, Incl tip.). since I arrived around 8 pm, I did not spend much time in the area. there is a small convenient store around the corner. After a certain hour, the hotel locks the front door and you have to go around the side to be buzzed in. I don't know whether this is because of the area or not. The desk attendant was helpful and friendly. Parking is available in their garage, but I did not have a car so did not use it. It appears to be in walking distance to some of the piers. Room was clean and appointed well for a short stay. Ice on every floor. No breakfast available, but I understand the Chestnut Diner is within walking distance. Rooms on the back are quiet. They charge $75 if you smoke in the room. I don't smoke so did not apply

Everyone was very nice and accommodating. It was a nice stay

This hotel is located 3 blocks away from the famous scene of Lombard st. It is not that far from piers but you do need to walk about 1 mile to get to piers 33-39 (where we went). But Uber/Lyft are nice alternate options if you are in a hurry. The room is very clean, bathroom are clean too. For a family of 4, it is the right size. Bathroom sink area is a bit small. The hotel staff was very friendly and she provided a lot of useful information. The beddings were clean and we felt comfortable. It provides free parking.

We have stayed here multiple times as it is affordable and within walking distance to many of our favorite spots such as Fisherman's Wharf.

From check-in the receptionist was very pleasant. She made sure I was satisfied with my room and explained the different options available. So I requested a quiet room not facing Lombard St. The room was very clean and in good condition. Bed was soft and heating worked perfect. Room was quiet with no street noise. Great location close to everything, there's also several restaurants nearby.

Great location, frienlyand helpful staff and clean spacious rooms. They took care of our luggage for us because we weren’t leaving until the night.

The outside of the hotel looked very small and very much not fancy at all. But once inside, the place was much bigger than I expected, and the room was cleaner than any of the other places I have stayed along Lombard Street. We usually sacrifice high end hotels for convenience when we come to SF, and I think we have finally found the hotel that we are happiest with. It is much closer to the places we like to walk to, so we can leave our car where it is for the day, and take in the city by foot. And at the end of the night, this is am much closer walk. I felt very safe in this neighborhood, and the room was very quiet - couldn't hear the Lombard Street Traffic all night the way I can in other hotels. And I'm pretty sure the bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in throughout our trips. This is a no frills hotel, but absolutely worth it for the stay.

Room are great. ..however halls/corridors have a funny smell and are in need of refurbishment

Good option in the city. Clean and the noise is limited.

I am very sorry to hear about the issues. Our elevator is out of service till March 31st it is being replaced with a brand new one. This was noted on Expedia's Website. Yes, we are having issues with ants. we have been spraying twice a week and it is unfortunate but when it rains everyone seems to have this problem in the area. I will address the coffee machine issue and look at it myself. We take pride in the cleanliness of our rooms and you can note our other feedback regarding this. As far as my staff if you could message me what happened I can deal wit it. I do have new staff and have replaced some. We hope you will come back in the futrue and give us another try.
