The hotel is beautiful, like out of a class movie. Really feels like you're back in time. Conveniently located to some really authentic Japanese food too!

Really quite hotel, old word charm. Small room but nice siz bath area. Great location and walk to wart or embark area, although it's a bit of a hike we like to walk.

I typically stay at more expensive full service hotels but was traveling on a tight budget this time. I found the hotel to be clean, especially for its age. The hotel staff was great in every way; I need to add and made me feel very welcome. I stayed in a very basic room and it had no work desk or microwave oven but I managed just fine. I would certainly stay here again. I did not eat at their restaurant however their menu looks very appealing. I took full advantage of the offerings in nearby Japan Town.

Hotel Majestic had seen some better times. Still it is okay to stay there. Staff is friendly, bus lines are around the corner. Alternatively, you reach diowntown in about 25 min (walking distance).

Pleasant stay in character hotel furnished with antiques, walking distance to civic center.

The staff during check in were very friendly...during check out not as pleasant. The hotel is old and the room we were in was not super large but it was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Majestic. It is decorated in an eclectic mix of antique furnishings and I thought it was just charming. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed. I only ate breakfasts there but the food was excellent. It's convenient to buses and taxis were easy to get. I felt like I'd stepped back in time. If you are looking for a cookie-cutter modern hotel, this isn't for you, but you're missing out.

Funky boutique hotel, helpful staff, loved the portable chargers.

I really enjoyed my stay at hotel majestic. It was extremely affordable and absolutely beautiful! The service was wonderful everyone was very kind .

We have stayed in the Hotel Majestic many time and we love it more each time. It is a former private home in Pacific Heights. It is quiet and away from the tourists but near enough to "hot spots" to take advantage of beautiful San Francisco.

The suite was very nice. Definitely rustic but enjoyable. There was a slight slant... as in a water bottle on its side would roll off the table but it added to the stay nonetheless.

The Majestic is a classic hotel in a great location. The staff is attentive but not in your face, and we felt very welcome. The facility is well maintained and feels comfortable, like a well-worn pair of good shoes, not shabby as some "classic" hotels feel. We stayed in a suite on the 4th floor and everything was really nice, though we had to open the windows to keep the room cool enough to be comfortable at night. (much better than the alternative in SF.) Be aware that parking is not cheap and you will need it in this neighborhood. The hotel restaurant is fine, good ambience and decent food, though nothing to write home about. Rumors of the hotel being haunted were not substantiated by our visit, unfortunately. :)

Staff, although friendly was very slow. Tried several times to call front desk. Either no one answered, or was busy for over 10 minutes at a time. Room was extremely small, but decorated nicely. Would stay again, but not as a first choice.

It was interesting because it was old. The history must be amazing. Breakfast was good but wish it was a continental Breakfast.

we've stayed in many San Fran hotels. There may have been a tear in the bathroom wall paper next to the tub but frankly there have been those types of things in Hyatt's too. We liked the charming vintage decor. Linens and towels were fresh and the room was clean - even the draperies looked crisp. I was concerned abour being on the second floor with windows that opened to the street but they blocked the sound well and left light in. In the morning there was a big urn of good coffee downstairs to start our day. In addition we used the free wi-fi and we found street parking (which can add 30-40 bucks to a hotel bill). I walked one block and caught the bus to the Ferry Building where I had a meeting and enjoyed the long stroll back through Union Square.

If you like BEDBUGS, maybe.....I had stayed here two years ago and loved it. That is why with our return trip there was no question of staying at The Majestic. Sadly, both my sons had bedbug bites. We mentioned this on Saturday but I unfortunately did not demand to get another room...my mistake. Would not go back here.

I was in the city for a week for a conference. The hotel was in a good location downtown, walking distance from the mission district, and accessible by bus and taxi from the convention center; the room was clean; the staff pleasant; the wi-fi worked well; good water pressure. The only limitation for me was the size of the room - I had a very small room with a tiny window that faced the alley. So, only little natural light. But I know that the hotel has larger rooms that face the street.

stay below the 5th floor, in the old 1902 part of the building. rooms are small, sure, but beds are comfortable--overall way above the 2star rating this hotel gets. Bar is nice, and nearby restaurants on Filmore Street, and Japan Town, are many and varied.

Room(s) were great. Unfortunately upon checking into our room we quickly realized it was not the room I booked. I go to the front desk to explain the situation and the gentleman says something along the lines of; "yea when you book with a third party you don't always get the room you booked so we have to give whats available." Really? There were four adults and we didn't book the room with two twin beds. So he gave us the key to a different room. Hooray! Wait a minute this next room only had one bed. How are we all going to fit on one king bed? So I jumped back on the elevator and back down to the lobby I go. I explained the new problem with the new room (the one with only one bed) and he was kind enough to let us keep both rooms. Great recovery from the staff, but was this whole mixup really necessary?

Very happy. The room is very nice and clean and there are excellent maps available at front desk. The staff are well informed and helpful and go out of their way to help you. You are about 20 mins walk from union square which is great and within easy access of buses to fisherman's wharf. perhaps a little long a walk from the centre but this is a minor gripe. For the money we paid we are very happy with this hotel and would gladly come back.
